Assist a Defender

Hello fellow Justicites.

I have recently returned from a long time away. Most of you who remember me, know that I mostly play defenders... defenders who tend to not be built for soloing. I'm looking for some assistance to get through some content that may be old hat to you, but is brand new for me - and am having problems getting through.

In particular, at the moment, I'm taking my FF/Ele through the Alpha Slot missions.

Thank you Kensi for helping me yesterday get past Trapshoot or Trapdoor or Troubadour or whatever (I'm getting old!)

The only thing is... my computer is being sad, and is having loading problems. So, occasionally I take a long time to get places.

So, if anyone is willing to put up with a slow re-noobed player who needs a little assistance, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I don't mind helping you out with your Alpha unlock missions.

Also some tips for starting off with your new Incarnate:

Keep your ear to the ground for Rikti Mothership raids, they are a good source for Incarnate Shards and Vanguard Merits for Grai'ai matter. They also happen on a daily basis.

Same for Hamidon Raids, but unlike the Mothership raids, only 50 people can be in the Hive at one time so it's best to move fast if you hear one is forming.

Keep an eye out for whatever the Weekly TF/SF target is cause that will be the taskforce/strikeforce that is run the most that week.

When in doubt join a TF/SF being formed up by Zero Tolerance (Borts) or Mermoine as they have a 0% failure chance on whatever they are about to run.

Thanks for the hints Talia!

I did Manticore yesterday.

I'll be keeping my ears and eyes open for TFs and Mothership raids then.

For now, I think I'll keep my Alpha slotting to just one defender (all my high level characters are defenders at the moment) for now.

Might have better luck soloing the mission arc with my Brute when I go around again (although I'm kinda afraid to load up villian side - even with my graphics turned all the way down)

As far as Stacking shards are concerned, be sure to run the Midnighter Arc Because the ITF Is a great run for shards

ITF = good for shards

thanks!

absorbing knowledge to try and compensate for my disappearance... I'm sure I have much of it to do!

Assuming you're still talking the Alpha unlock arc, it shouldn't be too bad, as the action starts from Ouro or the RWZ anyway. I guess the dodgy part would be getting to Ouro?

As far as continuing playing your Alpha brute goes, you could consider playing the morality missions to gain access to hero-side. While Grandville would likely bring an old computer to its knees, running morality missions in less demanding zones can be done with the help of folks willing to pitch in. (Like me if you're on late enough to catch my late Pacific time arriving behind.) (Getting the tips to get the missions is the tricky part that would benefit from friendly player assistance.)

I'll take you up on that Red!

Oddly enough Praetorian seems to run the best, then Hero side, and I haven't even attempted villain side yet.

Hamidon raids are Monday/Wednesday at 9pm eastern and Friday at 12 eastern, usually.

Hamidon raids tend to take less than an hour to complete.
Most Hamidon raids are followed by a RWZ Ship raid, which also usually take around under an hour.

I'll try a hami run (I'll cross my fingers and toes that my computer will handle as well as it used to when doing them) this week I hope.

Thanks Mari! Its nice to be welcomed back with open arms like I have been.

I will help you run the Alpha unlocking arc if you want Bubble. I can also show you the short-cuts I figured out trying to get 25+ 50s unlocked. You will find some of the members of a few the the channels I happen to know that you are in fairly helpful doing the one or two tough missions (for defenders).

Thanks, Kat! I appreciate it greatly! It felt really good last night to see so many people reach out last night to give me a hand, speak well of me to others and just basically making me feel good to be back.

Some of those hands can get a little too friendly. Keep a fork on you.

Bubble shared a room with me one night. For some reason, he found a different place to spend the next night.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

I stayed up all night between a few people's rooms. Not sure if I got any sleep that night.

I would like to appologize to people last night. Lots of help again, but my machine needed a rest - left it on all day for the update - it wanted rest, the ole man. So, tomorrow I should have a decent running puter that wont mapserve upon entering the new trials or cry when more than 3 people use a power at the same time.

I was sad you kept getting dropped from that trial I got you on the other day. Once we actually got to run it, we were successful.

Thank you everyone who has helped me out! I know it can be a hassle, specially with my slow loads and being mapserved a lot lately.

I'm hoping I can do an ITF tonight. Now, I'm no leader - specially with my hardware problems, but if anyone wants to get together tonight and do a fast run of it - I'd be deeeeeeelighted!

I have a stealthy blaster who needs to run it still, and will gladly put a few more characters through it afterwards.
