My friend got me with one: an iPad/iPod version of Final Cut Pro. Of course, my iPad just came that day and I was messing around with the amazing new version of GarageBand and had just seen the demo for the nearly-full-size Photoshop for iPad, so it seemed plausible to me. We live in an age of miracles, so FCP on an iPod? Why not?

The next time I see him, he will be swallowing his iPhone, of course. I can laugh at myself while choking the life out of someone. I'm Italian; it's a gift.

Comic book movies ran one about Green Lantern being pushed back to October that i fell for hook, line, and sinker.

I enjoyed Hulu's 1996 version. It had been done before by a site a year or two ago, but I still enjoyed it.

YouTube's 1911 version was rather "eh".

deviantArt was surprising, it was just a little weird face icon that peeked out from the middle of the page and then went away.

On a game developer's game website, they had a version of Clippy, the MS paperclip tool, that was pretty good. It was a ghost crab, named Crabby. It even followed you around the website, and told you that you should probably comment on how great he is in their forums. It was supposed to be an aid to help you build your character while you play.


Stuff like that would work better if you posted it before the 1st, and left it up for a couple of weeks, to really make people wonder if you're gonna add it to the game or not. Just when the nerdrage reached critical mass, THEN you could spill the beans about it being a gag. It would be just plausible enough to make even the most skeptical start wondering.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

The best April Fool's joke I can remember is when the local rock station (FM99) in Va Beach convinced alot of people there had been a dangerous build-up of methane gas under Mt. Trashmore (landfill converted to a park). Alot of people didn't make the connection between the anouncement and April 1st.

As I recall, the morning show that did the joke was off the air for about month or so.

I remember that! That was hilarious and well worth the time they had to spend off the air. Best april fools joke i know of

The Green Lantern thing had me for a minute, kudos over there.

The credit for the best April Fool's joke I know goes to my younger brother. We have a kitchen sink that has a spray nozzle attached to a hose, separate from the main faucet. A few years back, he scotch-taped the button on the nozzle, so when the water was turned on (instead of exiting the faucet straight into the sink) the sprayer would soak whomever turned on the water. Boy was Mom pissed. But what makes this the best one I know?... He got her two years in a row.

I LOVE that one. I usually use black electrical tape myself because the sprayers are usually black and the tape is pretty sturdy.
