Thanks all... I don't really know what all these Japanese words like "Bishoujo" mean, but I know I've gotten a lot of comments from anime lovers about Gorm so I was guessing she would fit into the style better than my others.

I'll usually avoid free arts but I have realy been T'Soul's style lately so had to give it a shot

By the way, the Masked Shrike is an awesome character; if you haven't seen her you should dig up some pics from the costume thread and whatnot.

She definitely has the anime look with the blue hair and hyper stylized outfit, never mind the laser sword.

the Bi is Beautiful and the Shoujo is essentially Maiden. It specifically refers to beautiful young women and is commonly associated with very flowery and delicate characters and art style. Bishoujo art is a very specific subset of anime art, though I'm assuming the OP is simply using the term for cute girls as a generality.

So, that means Bishonen means 'beautiful boy'... So 'beautiful', that the other boys get confused and try to 'date' them?

As for defining what bishoujo means for this contest, I intend to draw the winning characters in the "pretty girl" anime style. So even villains and monstrous characters will be getting a makeover with the cuteness bat.. lol I will of course do my best to adhere to the costumes posted but as with most of my work I may make slight alterations. The characters will be full color with a simple background like the NGE Asuka sample in my OP. The only other thing I'd like to add is that this project will take some time. I'd like to ask that everyone be patient and I will post each one in order of the winners list as I get them done. I estimate the total project to take roughly 2 months based on other things I've done of this scale. I realize that sounds like a really long time but I'd rather be quoted with far too much time than not enough. I plan on starting the character art this weekend and will post finished work to my art thread and DA gallery with links posted here.

Completing the winners list as the final selection today is White Clover by Ephemeris. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone that entered. There were a lot of really great contest submissions!!

Sweet, I didn't think White Clover had a chance with all the other awesome costumes in the thread. Congratulations to all the others that won! I look forward to seeing the arts of all the winners.
