I'm happy to hear things went well, and my thanks go out the rest of the SG event team for keeping things going in my absence. I really wish I could've been there, by the sounds of it I missed out on a great party.

I totally know how you feel about open RP. Most of my RP experience has had a solid back story within familiar group. On top of that, I come from a heavy RP medieval fantasy background so even under optimal circumstances I some times struggle with the modern super hero theme. So if I happen to be at a RP social event, I tend to just be scenery more than an active part of anything.

For those wondering where I disappeared to, my computer's been in the shop since Friday.. Seems like they fix one problem but find two more. If it weren't for these small doses of Internet on my cell I think I'd have gone completely insane from withdrawal by now. You never fully realize how addicted you are to your computer/internet until your forced to live without it for a few days..

I plan on leading a league with other SG members heading each team to get non-coalition attendees into the party. If you fall into this category and don't find any "chaperones" at the pocket D base portal, send me a /tell and I'll see what we can do about getting you onto an event team.

Depending on where we're at in the party, I could be fairly busy with event coordination. So if I don't get back to you right away give it a sec and hit me up again with another /tell.

For any SG or Coalition attendees feel free to stop in any time. The purpose of the event league is just to provide base access. All event related communication will be done in the request channel. So everyone in the base will be able to take part whether they're on the league or not.

I sorta got side tracked on my comic page for Darkavia and have been practicing my digital painting. I found some great online tutorials that have helped massively and made the whole experience a lot more rewarding. So, here's yet another WIP for my lil'dark Defender! It still has a LONG way to go yet before I'm done. But looking back on my work with Kazuhiro, even at this stage I think it shows quite a bit of improvement.

.. Oh and I still plan on getting back to my comic page!

A Dark Beginning W.I.P. now with flats. To save time I decided to cheat and use in-game screen shots for the background.
With the bulk of the work done it shouldn't take much longer to work on shadows, highlights, and finishing touches to have this ready to post along with the short story that inspired it.

Here's a look at stage 2 of my comic page WIP, A Dark Beginning.

Now that I have all the characters drawn I can start coloring, woot! I'm still undecided on how to detail the background for the bar scene though... Drawing a background pub isn't exactly exciting but has to get done. I was thinking of using an in-game screen shot for the main scene and might take the easy road and do the same for the bar. =/

Haahah.. thanks CR. Digital work is very different from any other medium I've worked in and there's a lot of things that you can get away with that almost feel like cheating when you think of more traditional methods.

Here's a peek at a new project I'm working on. This is the first run of character art for a comic page style poster based on a fan fiction I wrote. The short story is about my character Cecilia Drake called, A Dark Beginning (which I might post after I get this project done). This is still pretty early work as there's additional characters, paneling, and background art that needs to go in but I figured I'd share what I have so far.

Thanks guys. That "rough" look is definitely something I was going for, kinda like the more current Street Fighter art. I use that stuff as inspiration and a basis of comparison in skill. Kazuhiro is really early work in this style so with more practice I should be able to post something better soon. /em thumbsup

I've wanted to approach digital painting for a while but just haven't made the time to really get into it. Recently I've been dabbling in a more painted style using old pencil work as a base to work from. So far most of the stuff I've done is absolutely terrible and at this point I think it's time to search for Photoshop tutorials to learn the techniques I'm missing. Here is one of my paint projects as an example where I'm at.. The character sketch is based on my old Katana/Regen Scrapper, Kazuhiro.

Here's a little something I whipped up a few days ago as practice to get back into a more traditional comic book art style. The character is based off my dark melee - invul Brute, Grimsteel.

Thanks guys! For over all character design and back story Elyndiel is by far one of my favorite toons and I'm totally in love with this image of her right now.. I'm very tempted to continue working on new pics of her after I get the last two Hero Dawn SG characters colored and posted (which I'm hoping to have ready by this weekend). Maybe a desktop wallpaper or a vs. picture?

Thanks guys. Just one more to go and the first group of characters is done! There's two more from Hero Dawn (SG) members to come as an extension to the contest and I'm finished. I may add one or two of my own characters in this style once the contest winners have been finished.. still undecided.

Considering how well I think the first three in this project came out I feel like I've really let myself down with this one.. The line work for this character had been finished and sitting in photoshop for a long time and I think it was because I was never really happy with it. After a long break I was able to complete White clover and Touche before coming back to the Underdog and finally getting it done. There are elements to the picture I like but over all I think I did poor job on it and I apologize to R-tech for that. =(
