If I was in charge the first thing I would have done is build a ramp up to the stargate instead of that stupid walkway with stairs that forced everyone to carry the supplies.
If I was in charge of the 9th Chevron expedition, then I would put all the non-perishable supplies near the Stargate since there is no idea to know when the Expedition would start or what to expect.

The second thing I would have done is loaded all the supplies onto MALPS or rechargeable ATVs and drove them thru the damn wormhole.
Oh and another thing I would have done if I was in charge would have been to remove/vent/evacuate the atmosphere from the gate room on the Destiny once I learned the Lucian Alliance was dialing so they could invade.
They come thru the wormhole, suck vaccuum, invasions over. Toss the bodies out an airlock.
What Telford died? Oops.
yeah lotta tactical plotholes in the writing of this series
gonna need a ATV malp to get thru them all

As others said, a good episode
A 'nice' way to re-stock on ammo/etc without having any other issues come up.

I was really hoping for a Tomax & Xamot thing going on there with the Rushes. Especially since one of 'em had that cut on his cheek.
Are you saying you wanted Rush/Rush slash fic?

Not even remotely.
I was talking the evil twin thing that those guys had on GI Joe. Since that is essentially what the Rushes were. Other than the pain-transference thing, they would've been pretty similar to those two. It would've been interesting to see just how amoral two Rushes could be. Would it be a negative or a positive feedback situation? Would they have turned on each other at some point? Would they have tried to create an army of Rushes using temporal situations (like one of 'em mentioned)?

While space is at a premium it's also true that a shuttles hull is a lot easier to penetrate by random space debris or micro-meterorites than the hull of a main ship. So a shuttle docked on the outside of a ship that routinely travels thru different solar systems could easily find itself getting it's hull breached by some random unexpected debris that wouldn't scratch the bigger ship.

You're forgetting that for the most part, the ship is cloaked in high energy structural integrity/protective shields.
Whatever'd hit the ship would encounter the shields first and bounce off there (or be destroyed).

You're forgetting that that part of the thread was referring to all shows/movies with space ships, and not just the ships in the Stargate Universe. We started discussing it after Mandu said this.

Every other science fiction show that has had shuttles has had them dock inside some bay which is a waste of perfectly good space. Space which would be at a premium in a spaceship. |

You know just how much Tomax/Xamot slash fic is out there?

Personally Id have put them on pallets and pallet jacks at the ready, so that when you DO open up the 9th cheveron you could get all the supplies thru quickly and orderly. With food/water at the beginging of the line, and then the pertainent equipment. Suspension of disbelife and all I guess.
