The Crossing ((open RP))
((It is part of the plot and Synth is slowly setting the scene for it though I'm not entirely sure why it would be a seperate thread, the Crab boss is merely a means of herding people together))
The shot from Quicksilvers gun was powerful enough to actually force the crab to tip backwards, not part of the program it knew but even it could not argue with physics in this universe, it teetered for a moment on it's hind legs before collapsing onto it's back.
Now fully exposed to whatever was going to be thrown at it, legs wiggling in the air as it lay there.
The almighty BAM! of a door's handle making a noticeable dent in the metal wall surrounding it signalled the Outsider's hasty arrival onto the rooftop, but that hadn't stopped her at all.
Instead she kept on running to the very edge of the rooftop and without so much as a second thought took a leap of faith across the potentially fatal drop separating that building from the one ahead. The Outsider had, thankfully, judged the gap well and landed onto the next rooftop with a not-entirely-graceful roll that very smoothly followed into a continued dash for the next gap.
It was halfway across the rooftop that she stopped herself upon hearing a series of metallic creaking, groaning and what could have been crunching.
"Uh-oh."
Upon peering over the edge facing the narrow battlefield that was the street below, she bore witness to the overturned crab, powerless to stop anyone striking its supposed weak point with whatever force the maniacs fighting it would muster between them.
"Damn it, not good, NOT GOOD!!"
The Outsider watched on, in the hopes that the Crab would right itself again. As she did, she began to loop her chain around the hilt of the gearblade.
Derek was nowhere to be seen on the rooftops across the street, giving cause for concern that he had gotten himself lost in one of the buildings.
((I'll leave it up to Rebel to decide if Ildela was anywhere near that door. ))

Well, if they want me to show off Mirel started but didnt finish her sentence as she quickly pushed off her handstand and into a cartwheel, finally coming to a rest stood upright next to the giant weak point.
It took only a few seconds for her to judge the best angle of attack, leaping into the air and spinning seeming to momentarily slow down as she extended on leg straight down and drove a mighty kick straight down at the vulnerable spot.
With her attack committed, the foot Mirel was leading with began the crackle a little with what seemed like a deep blue coloured lightning, drops of water flinging around and away, as if her foot was carving its way through massive sheets of rain, as she channelled Essence into the attack to make it that much more potent.
And with a very loud CRACK Essence boosted armoured boot met giant flashing weakpoint.
Glancing across to the bow wielding stranger, Ethan Shouted to her ..
" first come first server, turn up or missout, this thing has cost me a prefectly good missle already .." with half an eye watching the possiblely about to explode crab beasty, a second half on the surroundings, Ethan devote one whole eye to looking at how to take apart the claw and get at the useful stuff inside. |

As she prepared to loose the second in a hail of arrows, she just hoped that the armoured figure she could see kicking the red button would be sensible enough to get out of the way before it was too late.
"Don't go away mad, just go away..." The best line Clint never said.

"Huh? What's not good?", Ildela asked, a little confused. What was so bad about a bunch of supers taking down an obviously hostile giant monster? They'd even managed to keep the collateral damage to a minimum thus far.
|
"Doesn't this thing look at all familiar to you?" she then asked. "I mean, the sideways movement, the strict repetitive combat patterns, the manner in which it flips onto its back for a few moments when it takes a few hits and exposes a big red flashing weak point on its underside. It's looking and acting like an end-of-level boss from a videogame, and usually those things like to blow up when they're defeated!"
As she panic-rambled on, she continued to wrap the chain around the sword's hilt and guard before slipping the padlock on as tightly as possible.
"And if that thing does blow up, I'm willing to bet that it'll take a bloody good chunk of the street with it, these very buildings included, which means that instead of just hitting it with your best weaponry on first sight, the smarter thing to do would be lure the damn thing to somewhere a lot more open, where the danger to civilian life will be greatly reduced if it does decide to explode once everyone's shot it enough. We -need- to do that above all else."

Into the Garden of Forking Paths, Continued
As Found Spider rode into Kings Row he expected things to be quiet--nothing that the Paragon Police and less experienced heroes couldn't handle. On his arrival, as he walked down the ramp from the monorail station, he heard chatter on his police radio that there was battle going on between heroes and a giant crab--a giant crab?! It sounded interesting but he elected to listen to police updates about it as he made his way to PPD Headquarters. He wouldn't get involved unless it sounded like it was getting out of hand.
On his walk over to PPD headquarters he easily dealt with a small crowd of Skull ruffians bullying innocent passersby. He knew their tactics from the few times he dealt with them in the Isles. It was hardly a match.
At Police Headquarters, there was a small crowd of outlandishly dressed heroes down in front of the building, chatting, drinking coffee, asking questions and sharing old stories. The Mathematician's plan was that Found Spider would start his recruiting here. He walked over to a clutch of heroes standing by Blue Steel. Being a newly legal super in chrome body armor of Arachnos design--he's spent months buffing all the insignia off--he felt self-conscious.
"Ummm, Hello? I'm Found Spider and I'm new to the City's ranks of heroes but I was hoping for some help with police scanner work. Any takers or questions?" he asked in a baritone voice with a very mild Spanish accent. The police scanner continued to chatter in his ear giving him updates on the crab fight.
((Is this a little better? My plan is to give Found Spider his own mission to bring others on but if one of you think's it's better to say that the Mathematician's plan requires that he join one of your plots in progress, PM me and we can do that too.))

Kings Row, Crab Battle, several streets away and increasing...
Hat held down with one hand, eyes flicking this way and that for danger, the newly dubbed Awesometastic Girl, beat a hasty retreat, she'd tried to warn them that the robot had been some sort of trap, but lemming like they'd carried on fighting, not wanting to end up as so much wall decoration she'd backed away and then started to run...

Once Ildela and Amatus had boarded the tram, the white-clothed man looked around suspiciously. "I do not like this method of transit." He said. "It would be far too easy to spread a plague using such. Far too much contact and exposure with other specimens, far too much distance covered and otherwise isolated locales visited. Are the likes of these 'tram stations' a common feature of developed areas?"
((been a bit busy, apologise about that))
The Crab promptly exploded, or it would have done if it hadn't had the magical net not contained the outward spraying of the explosion, however it did proceed to take a chunk of the street underneath it since the explosion was force downward.
All that was left was a smoldering crater and the burnt out wreckage of what remained of the Crab.

She quickly corrected herself mid-air however, her random tumbling becoming much more focused and clean until, at last, she touched down on the road a good few dozen feet from the crab. She flourished her landing a bit, making it look as though the whole thing had been the end of some simple gymnastics routine.
The atmosphere around her was a little odd, it flickered, seemed hazy at times, as if it couldnt decide if it were air or water and the occasional deep ocean blue crackle of what looked like magical lightning certainly didnt help make it look any less odd, but the effect seemed to by dying down quickly as she brought her head up to straighten up and smirk at what she hoped would either be the other people who had battled the thing (Or massive crowd of adoring peasants) who would no doubt be converging on her any second.
That was fun, now who the in the name of Mother of All Things is in charge here?
The Outsider blinked at the crabsplosion below for a moment. Just a brief moment. Then she slung the chain over her shoulder and headed for the door back into the building she stood upon, quietly muttering some intelligible rant about something, perhaps the recklessness of this world's heroes, perhaps not.
This continued even after returning to the ground floor and walking back out onto the street, never pausing, never hesitating as she immediately approached the the rest of the group that formed to take down the crab.
"Well!" The Outsider declared, clapping her hands together as she spoke. "This turned out to be a pretty horrifying display of team tactics, or lack thereof, didn't it?"

Far End of King's Row
He had been walking the streets of this strange new land. Combing out the area, learning, watching... judging. The soles of his dark war-worn, mud-stained military boots flashed over the pavements of the crime-ridden roads. A small piece of leaflet that'd been handed to him earlier was now stuck to the bottom. The fluttering helms of his heavy-set leather cassock brushed the dust and litter as it marched majestically over the troubled neighbourhood. The broad-shouldered man bore military stripes and decorated epaulettes, glimmering with gold insignias of the crucifix.
Across the street he noticed a scantily-dressed woman being mugged by a skull-faced hoodlum. A notably obese policeman stood idly by, eating a cheeseburger and doing nothing to help the situation.
"Harlot" the man groaned, his deep guttural voice causing even his throat to visibly tremble. "Thief" he added, before drawing out a sawn-off shotgun and descending upon the scene of crime. As he approached, he fired without pause or hesitation. Bullets tore into the woman and her mugger and both fell to their deaths. The man then trained his weapons onto the policeman, who was now clutching his radio and screaming for back-up. "Glutton" came his sentence, before swallowing two shells. Despite the sirens of approaching squad cars, the man reloaded his weapon and trained his attention onto nearby onlookers and fleeing passer-bys, onto whom he laid judgement and began his unholy crusade.
"Huh", Ildela commented, looking down at the remains of the crab after the explosion. "So much for luring it away... I was going to, and all. But hey, this is Paragon. That crater'll be repaired by nightfall." Only then did she turn around and notice that the person she was talking to wasn't actually there anymore, having taken off back down the stairs. Sighing to herself, the stalker quietly jumped over the edge and plummeted several stories in freefall before pulling up and flying over to where the rest seemed to be gathering.
"Well!" The Outsider declared, clapping her hands together as she spoke. "This turned out to be a pretty horrifying display of team tactics, or lack thereof, didn't it?" |

Kings Row, Hero Gathering
Mirel strode forwards towards the amassing group of heroes, her pleased expression briefly flashing to something along the lines of annoyance before she settled it back as a nice friendly smile, she would have to teach these obviously uncivilised people how to properly respect those of her station but in all due time.
Greetings to you all She said with surprising warmth, friendliness and even a little bow, It is nice to meet you all, though I will admit, I was expecting more immediate recognition from people after all that, certainly for the one who landed the killing blow at least.
Kings Row - Hero Gathering
"That's because these things are not very out of the ordinary on this world." the electronic modulation familiar to Ildela and Mirel sounded from an alleyway - or more accurately, from the first of the three armored individuals making their way out of said alley and into the open.
They were the same as the demon had encountered earlier, including the one with the tail and silver claws. However, none of them held a rifle this time, the weapons instead stowed and secured.
"In fact, if you were to wait for some time," the new arrival continued, "you will likely see another, though it'll be set together from rusty metal and scavenged construction materials..."

As she glanced around and noted the individuals around her, Derek cautiously stepped out of the alleyway, his attention devoted more to the crab remains more than where he was going until he was within speaking distance of his partner.
"Yeah, uh..." Derek uttered on his approach. "I couldn't find a way into any of these... towers or whatever they, err, are? But, guessing from that look of frustration on you, I guess whatever you were planning's out the window, huh?"
"Quite." the young woman grunted. Someone was bound to be feeling the daggers she was staring at the wanderer.

Amatus did not bat an eye at the giant Crab - he had stopped being impressed by constructs, no matter how fancy, ages ago. The police drone had only garnerned his interest because it was the only one he had seen that could fly.
"What can you tell me about Portal Corporation?" Amatus asked lldela. "Those pissants who attacked me only knew a little about it. Mainly where it was, and about cross-realm travel. Specifically, what am I going to have to do in order to return to where I came from?"
