Best slotting for SS/FA fire farm?

Hey guys, what sets would be the best to slot into my powers for mission farming. I do pretty well currently with just standard SO's but have been saving my tickets and money to make this character a beast. (i took mu mastery for the 2 additional aoe's)

Should I aim for pure global recharge? I only have Manuevers, Combat Jumping and Weave for defense sets for the 2 LOTG Recharge. I also got the force feedback recharge proc for Foot stomp , but i'm at a loss as to what to slot in where.

Its a very good build for cheaps but, I thnk with Veng activated it should be some soft-capped defense at least ... right?

Altho this build is way esxpensive, it is also very worth it.

Although what the above have said is very valid, vengeance is GREAT for softcapping your fire defence...I prefer to pick up 20% fire defence and just pop 2 purples to get to the softcap, this allows me to slot for recharge, which is what is important in a farm - getting footstomp up in 4.8seconds is nice :P

This is my build for AE ambush farms I eat +4x8 without much thought and Ive only just last night got my first 2 LoTGs and 3 of the AA stun set, slot and enjoy :P

Do you have Mids hero Designer,(updated)Issue I-19 version? Because i cannot view form the link you have posted. (Disregard that, I see it now, my Norton 360 had a "View the page" displayed at the very bottom of screen).

Afer viewing your build, it lacks lots of Defense when you have gone the Fighting Power Pool route instead of the Leadership Power Pool for Vengeance which granto you more defense alone compared with the Fighting pool. Also, I see that you have skipped Rise of the Pheonix, which to me is kind of a must have, (especially with out Veng and not soft-capped).

Also, you have waaayyyyy over slotted powers that most do not use in a farming session. Those slots can be most valuable esle where. If you want more recharge, you can grab Leadership and Concealment. You don't necessary have to over slot the concealment pool but single slots for the LoTG 7.5 recharge IOs and you can 3 slot Veng for the added 7.5 LoTG and added Def as well. Blazing Aura I have mine 4 slotted, 3 damage/endurance IO's and a proc chance for damage.
And KB Blow is a power you will need good damage into it like if you can afford a Hect set, it works well for that. Drop the Absolute Amazement set in the Boxing attack power and put it in Rise of the Pheonix power.

VP and I just got started on our SS/FA/Mu Brutes last weekend. Having a great time with them so far and that's just on SOs. The build I'm working toward isn't crazy expensive, but does have a couple expensive bits. Still, between merits and drops, we shouldn't have much trouble. I'm posting the build below to see if I can make it either more efficient (getting the same performance for less) or more effective (getting more performance for the same cost).

Note that it doesn't use Vengeance or have much in the way of defense, so I'm interested in maybe fleshing that out a little (or not, if I can get away with it). I also slotted two 4pc sets of Perfect Zinger to get a little extra recharge, instead of one set of Mocking Beratement (I originally had 6pcs of MB in Taunt, then I saw the Consume slotting option and ran with it). This gave me an extra 2.5% recharge and a couple chances to proc psi damage for one more total slot over a 6pc set of Mocking Beratement. The Concealment pool was chosen to mule LotGs.

ALL SS/FA builds are composed of max recharge, along with capped Fire resistance... along with having Burn and Footstomp up as quick as possible.

Assuming you are just primarily using this build for AE farming, you do not need to worry about slotting super expensive IOs into it (purples, PvP IOs, LotGs) ... cut costs out of Black Assassin's build ...

End up with this. It is fully functional for running some form of Footstomp, Burn, Fireball along with permanent Rage . Inspirations drop so much in AE, you don't need to worry about spending lots to soft-cap a toon that is meant to make you money.
[Obliterations can be costly at times, in the time being just slot the powers that use them with some combination of Accuracy, Recharge and Damage]

In this build you have taken stealth and grant invisibility but you have not slotted them. Normally I would put a Lotg +recharge but you already have 5, 7.5% recharges. Any suggestions?

I just didn't slot them in.

The 7.5 bonus from IO sets is actually different than the 7.5 granted by just the Lotg IO.
So, you can of course slot them in .. you'll gain the recharge.

I love my current slotting for my SS/Fire brute. He's a farming monster. I'm always farming with other lower levels so I have a constant supply of vengeance to keep me over fire def soft cap. I can do Crey's in 5min, most other fire farms in 3.5 minutes. If anyone has ideas about how I can squeeze even more performance out of this build, I would love to hear.

Yes, I do have Obliterations in Blazing Aura, but with the recovery Tier 4 Destiny I never have endurance problems.

33.4% Fire Defense
91% Recharge before Hasten/FF Proc (161% with Hasten)
Tier 4 Spiritual and Tier 4 Ageless Destiny

I don't understand all this +recharge mentality. My build only has a base +40% recharge before Force Feedback, Hasten, Spiritual Alpha and Ageless.

I have tried dozens of farms and the best one (by a massive margin) has an ally who gives Speed Boost.

My 40% recharge + Force Feedback, Hasten, Ageless and Speed Boost means I am never without an AOE to activate and I very rarely find myself in a position where I have to use the much weaker Electifying Fences to fill the chain. I have capped Defense without relying on having a team mate around for vengeance meaning I don't have to deal with bosses, don't waste an attack on Vengeance and can get tickets faster. I don't have to use purples, the only inspiration I ever use are reds which means I do more damage and gain tickets faster.

Going all out on Recharge is pure overkill. You go beyond the sweet spot and beyond the point of diminishing returns until you reach the point where the opportunity cost of all that recharge is handicapping you.

I thought the ally that uses speed boost only provides end recovery and no recharge.

Because slotting for defense is even more useless when you have capped resistance. And of course slotting a build in reliance of an NPC is bad.

Also, slotting the single target attacks for their secondary effects to get the extra 7.5% recharge boosts has zero opportunity cost for a farming build. Same with slotting LotG into concealment powers. 4 ST attacks and 5 Lotg is 67.5 right there without needing to slot the AoEs for anything but damage and recharge

To be fair, if you don't have capped Defense and capped resist or a significant amount of Regen, you are going to need to heal yourself which is a waste of an attack and slows you down or it is a waste of an inspiration which also slows you down.

This is very true, I use LotGs for that very reason but capping ym defense means some very tight slotting (not sure ifit can be made any more efficient). That is the opportunity cost, whether to cap defense or use those couple of slots for recharge.

Wasting inspirations really isn't an issue in my experience. I don't even combine very often (mostly only when I see a whole lot of yellows or oranges in the tray) and just using the inspirations as they come in I tend to stay above 50% defense and 600% damage. Often I don't even have to bother hitting fury a second time.

Hey, nice build! I think it permahastened... I switched to Mu to gain an extra AoE (Elec Fences), took a slot out of Healing Flames and slotted the LoTGs where they 'belong'. Very creative build for farming intentions! Reminds me of a cheapo elec/sd build scrapper I made with permahasten that was kinda unplayable in normal content heh.

I don't have to use purples, the only inspiration I ever use are reds which means I do more damage and gain tickets faster.

Going all out on Recharge is pure overkill. You go beyond the sweet spot and beyond the point of diminishing returns until you reach the point where the opportunity cost of all that recharge is handicapping you.
So you dont understand why recharge is so popular but the best farm you found buy a large margin has someone that gives you more recharge.

Also, you may want to rethink your stance on not fighting bosses. I have tested every +1-4 with and without bosses at x8 difficulty and the one that gave the best inf per min was +4x8 with bosses. At least for my ss/fire ymmv
