I'd reserve judgement until I actually see the thing. A backpack - singular - is not an accomplishment, especially since that one pack comes with a paid booster. This will be accomplished only when we get at least a small selection of backpacks in the game for free.
With as often as people have been suggesting backpack costume items for this game for the last SEVEN YEARS I'd have to agree that one stylized backpack offered in an upcoming booster pack hardly equates to "accomplishing" that goal. It's a good start, but until there are at least 8-10 backpack options to choose from I would hardly call it a done deal.

Gotta agree here. I'm glad because it is a step in the right direction, proving that it is possible. But I wouldn't call it a success or accomplishment until there are a few different options (some of which come free in Issues).

What I'm hoping is that this leads to permanently-present jet packs. The visual tech is in place (Sky Raiders' Wing Raiders have it), plus the Rocket boots are set to only turn on when a flight ability is active, so I have think it is possible. The only problem I can see, which is not to say it is the only problem out there, would be clipping animations with any animation that involves a lot of arm movement (glares at Kinetic Melee). *crosses fingers*

@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.

One thing that I'd REALLY like to see I think may actually be marginally possible: Glove and Boot details.

Let's use the Justice boots as an example: They come in two varieties: Justice and Justice w/Pad. The difference between them is the w/Pad variety has an extra piece of geometry attached to the regular boot. Underneath the shin pad, it's just the normal Smooth boot geometry with the unique Justice texture. This is true of a lot of pieces. If we separated the extra Boot detail geometry into its own category, we could mix and match those details with other boot textures. For example, put the Justice pads on the Heavy Buckles texture. Further, since they'd be their own costume category, we could have the pads be different colors from the rest of the boot. That would solve the problem where things like the Roman Vambraces with Skin, despite being extra geometry, can only have one color because one color needs to be reserved for skin color.

You couldn't separate out Boot and Glove details for EVERY unique set of gloves and boots, but there'd be enough that it'd be worth it.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Ah, yes, and then there's that. I, personally, will not consider backpacks complete unless and until they include jet packs. I'm much more lenient on whether the jet packs have to light up when you fly (or turn off when you land, whichever), but I want to see jet packs in the game. That's jet packS - plural. Even if they're just redumps of the various ones we have now - Raptor Pack, Goldbricker Pack, Longbow Eagle Pack, Wyvern Pack, GvE Jump Pack. And remember, we're talking costume pieces here, not powers, so I want to see just the packs, not the abilities that come with their corresponding powers.

Well, if they got this backpack working, maybe they got the old backpacks working again.

While they're at it:
1. Facial animation ( blinking eyes, mouth animation )
2. Face customization ( selection of eyes, nose, mouth, etc. individually )
3. Animated hair ( yes, I want my hair to blow in the wind )
4. Hands that actually look like hands.
5. Ability to make costume pieces glow. Also design patterns that glow ( i.e. Tron )
6. Ability to select hair style even when the hat option is selected.
7. More types of beards, mustaches.
8. More helmets. ( I'm still waiting on my Flash style helmet )

Mainly for costumes:

Wings with trench coats would be awesome!!! Like multiple things. Two auras. two back detail options, hats w/ pony tails and looooong hair, longer hair styles for male characters. have long baggy pants & shorts for monsterous legs, have an arm length adjuster bar and tail length option, More types of reptile/dragon/lizard head options. Having the flared/alert/ short long ears from the original beast heads able to be used on the new animal heads. More types of creature heads in general. Being able to put spines and horns on tails having a tail that can also be a weapon. More customization with faces being able to tweak more details.(coloring scars) claw like hands changing amount of fingers n stuff

I'll just reiterate my idea for how to "fix" the claws.

Make a set of invisible claws that can be selected as a custom weapon, as usual. These claws are completely invisible and don't draw anything.

Now we can pick one of the existing spiked gloves, or one of (hopefully) several new spiked gloves which will be created to be used specifically for this purpose, some with animalistic claws growing from the knuckles, some with other kinds of claws. These gloves will look perfect when the hand forms a fist and is used with claw attacks.

We can also just use any old hand we want and use Claws as a "punchy" form of Martial Arts.
