Wanting to build A beast of a brute - An All around TF Pro.

Hey guys-
I just rolled my first brute this week- an SS/Fire- my new farmer of choice.

But with issue 20 coming out and new end game content coming out i want to start building something that i can basically take into any TF and be able to have great survivability and maximum DPS so i can Be on the AV's. I like showing off with big damage and seeming invincibility >.>

Some things i have considered:
Dm/Inv - This seems like a great combo to me - however it seems pretty crippled to only s/l damage.

SS - Dm/WP - WP seems incredibly versatile to me. This combo feels like a strong choice in terms of being able to walk into any TF and not be worried.

SS-DM/SD - Of course This build is capable of highest DPS - But I just can't get myself into SD for some reason.. Doesn't apeal to me?

Claws/WP-SR - Claws is a fun set and i feel would be even funner on a brute

If you havn't noticed i love SS and DM

Seriously im open to anything-

Recap on goals:
Survivable in any TF -
Damage Powerhouse -

Thanks guys.

that's a hard one . the one thing iv'e noticed tho is the new enemies are heavy with enrgy damage an they do a lot of slows & they seem to chew thru def . I rolled a dark mele /enrgy aura for the new content he is only lvl 35 right now but it looks good so far

id just keep slotting up your ss/fire. perhaps have a second build for regular content. first build for farming. its very possible to get durable on it. soul pool helps.

Well, if you're serious about this, the answer is simple:

Fire/fire tank.

Your first inclination of DM/Invul in a great idea. That particular combo, built right, is probably one of the most, if not THE most, resilient melee characters you can make. You can have an awesome attack chain in DM that does great ST DPS and Soul Drain being Perma means you're running a huge damage boost at all times. With the addition of an APP AoE attack you can have some decent AoE also.

Top that off with a permanent and massive boost to HP, a good self heal that you can fire off every 3 seconds that also happens to be part of your attack chain, near perma-hasten/Soul Drain level of recharge, and soft-capped defense to everything but Psi, and you're essentially unkillable.

This is a DM/Invuln scrapper I made a while back. Porting this over to a Brute is pretty easy since the builds are the same. You would have to move some stuff around to get a patron pool. Taking Mu Fences and Ball Lightning would be a good idea to give you a decent amount of AoE if you want it. NOTE: The build I am showing you has the Glad 3% IO in it. With that removed (I'm guessing you don't have one/want to get one) you'll be a little short on F/C with only 43% in a fully saturated situation. You're still FAR over the cap on S/L and E/NE. I'm sure there's a way to Find the extra 1.5% F/C defense to cap that if you are crazy for it.

Keep in mind this is using the Spiritual Core Paragon Alpha Slot.

I ported my Scrapper build to a Brute build and came up with a pretty nice setup. All those extra HP will help power Siphon Life and really extend your immortality line. Less damage overall, especially in the AoE department thanks to losing Fireball, but big gains in survivability. You'll still be a superstar against anything that isn't Psi.

What about fire/WP/soul i think darkest night -ToHit and -damage does well for WP regen/resistance and defence and enough damage ST and AoE seems pretty nice combo.

Or not ?

DM/SR is a great build. It's a build that gets a lot better with io's but it's not bad on the infamy.

yeah, dm/sr is great with very little invested.
