¿How many of you does have a Night Widow/Fortunata/Bane Spider/Crab Spider, with a non-human look? I know all of them are Natural origin, but obviously natural does not mean human only. It can be from Aliens to Vampires. Most of the SoA's that i have saw, are human looking and it will be interesting to know how many of you does have one which is a non-human character concept.

my fortunata is a vampire, so....It's not really hard to make him look interesting. His normal form is just a pale human.

His vampire form is a disproportioned, gray beastie.

my friend's night widow, however...is werewolf themed, but he doesn't look like a wolf in his uniform.

Magisterum- 50+3 Fortunata--Virtue

Lukerion- 33 Emp/Rad Defender--Virtue
Noah Heartily- 34 SS/SD brute- Virtue
Mika Heartily- 50+1 Fire/MM blaster-Virtue

That's very cool. My Fortunata is Wood Elf themed and i really liked the Vampiress concept for a Night Widow.

My crab spider is a cricket-lady.

My crab "Rainbow Mantis" is *technically* a mutant. A really low end mutant:

"Origin?" asked the bored Arachnos recruiter. "Mutation!" I replied perkily. I was gonna hit the big time as a Rogue Isles metahuman, and get out of the cesspit that was Upper Mercy.
"Mutation?" He looked up at my lithe, teenage body standing before his desk. "You look normal to me. What do you do?" "I have the perceptions and metabolisim of a preying mantis, with enhanced reflexes."
"You see good, don't get fat, and dodge? How about chitonous armor? Claws? Jump real good?" I had to shake my head "no" to each question, my heart sinking.
The recruiter shut down the computer, and handed me a clipboard. "Look kid, if you test well on precognometrics, you might make it into the Fortunatas, but as far as I can tell, your best bet off this rock is as a Wolf Spider."
So here I am, a recruit, who did test well... for cybercogniton. I might make it as a Crab one day, but mark my words: I will make it as a Destined One, or sink this stupid island into the sea.

My Widow is primarily made up of:

A. Night Widow NPC clone for trolling in TFs
B. A costume that looks like me IRL
C. SG Costume
D. Hood, sunglasses, open robe from magic pack, pentagram on the chest, wolf fur chest, and wolf tail
E. Can't remember.

Costume D is generally my primary. When the Animal Pack is released, it will probably get an overhaul with some other wolf parts.

Here's an old pic from before I did some aura and other changes.

Thanks for posting your information and pictures of your VEAT. I really liked when creativity is involved in something that the game has made it generic, but for that we have one important tool: Our imagination

My Crab is formerly human, a pissed off Arachnoid experiment in a crab spider suit. (See Project Fury: Venom Serum in COV lore, origin of Arachnoids) All my SOA's have in common the desire to kill Recluse. Seems to also be a common theme when you read other SOA players that bother to write bios.

My duel build Huntsman/ Bane is human, but that started the "Kill Recluse theme" for me in my VEATS. Yes my Widow and Fortunata hate the boss as well. But the Huntsman/Bane, an angry citizen of the Isles is the most compelling: "Someday, I'm going to put a bullet or mace in his all powerful incarnate head, and it is going to do the job, odds be damned."

Seen semi loyal VEAT bios also, but to me the whole VEAT story line is about giving the finger to Recluse. I like to think the Rogue Isles is a more compelling dystopia than Praetoria, but thats just me. I also think the alignment "Rogue" is more compelling than "Villian" unless your a villian who wants to supplant the top dog.

I also think Paragon, the "City of Heroes" is a "City of Slick Lawyers." How the hell else to all these continually squashed villian organizations replenish their ranks? Dreck the Freakshow boss, gets out of jail on a technicality every few days or so. Freaking lawyers! Blueside, go vigilante and start killing the perps for a change. After playing many heroes I have to say they must be pie in the sky believing chumps. Ok enough role play concept. Enjoyable game still, even seven years later. COH nerd for life! or untill the severs dry up and go down, may it not be so!

"Thank you Iraq! Goodnight!"

Mine is a Mythical Creature that has wormed his way in to embezzle as much as he can, and enjoy the fortunatas.

When something good happens to me, I can never enjoy it....
I am always too busy looking for the inevitable punchline...

My Night Widow "Ethernet" is actually Human. (I know...sort of shocking ) But she was a computer hacker originally, and found that she came by it very easy. Her concept was that she was a precog. She could see mapping grids or plan against defenses almost before they occured. While she became very nimble and effective, she had always been Psychic (Magic being our Dual Origen) she developed some Psionic powers, but nothing of real note unless in Fortunata...where she wears a special amulet, which weakens her physical form but amplifies her Psionic potential.

Thats my concept which only developed after she completed the Midnighter quests and obtained the amulet from them.

The old VG I used to run in had a bunch of armored arachnoids in it, ala Crab Spiders. Very creepy having that face, under the armor.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

FCM's Fort, Moss, is a collective entitiy... A colony of sentient, psychic plants housed in an android body.

Cholula, my Nightwidow, is "mostly-human". She has a demon among her ancestors, but that was a few generations back.

Mameshiba, my adorable little green chibi Bane, is an artifical life-form. He was designed to be a living version of the main character from a popular WSPDR Saturday morning cartoon show. He was *supposed* to simply be a channel mascot and marketing prop, but the Mad Scientists who designed him figured they ought to make him as true to the original Chibi Bane as they could... including a link to the collective mind-web. He really does think he's a regular bane. Just... a really short, really green one. XD

Mine's not even a Widow in terms of character concept. Her name is Symbiotic Suit. Guess why?

She gets her powers from a living, psychic suit which covers most of her body, and can produce thin envenomed spines from her fists.

The catch is, she's not really in control of her body at the moment. The suit's dominated her completely, and uses her body to work towards its own objectives. However, it's a very young example of its species, and doesn't understand the world very well. It constantly "befriends" the villains it encounters, savagely fighting to "protect" them. Some clever villains have used this to their advantage, turning the crazed, symbiotic killing machine against whoever they'd most like perforated by toxic needles at the moment.

Eventually she'll be captured by a Super Group while on a Mayhem Mission in Paragon City, who will extract her from the suit... only to discover that neither she nor it can survive when separated for too long. She will strike a deal with the suit, allowing it to use her body to survive (and search for its imprisoned parent, a much older and more powerful symbiote currently being studied by Crey), as long as it shares control with her.

When they first announced the VEATs coming out I admit that I actually squatted on the name "Tarantulas" in order to make a toon as an homage to the same named character from the 90s Beast Wars TV series... ended up making a pretty decent homage, I think... wish I had a picture to post of him.

Since the animal pack got released my Huntsman is modeled after the Kzin. There's just something awesome about a 400 pound killing machine with a big, nasty gun.

I like your VEAT Stories and character concepts. From great characters we have met to extraordinary ideas that are very creative. I'm glad this post is alive, because i always had a very good experience in the Soldier of Arachnos forums.

I have a Fortunata who is of the Fey (glittering fairy wings, large pointed ears, not especially tall). Trapped shortly after birth and conditioned by Arachnos, trained to use her natural gifts of illusions (mental powers) and her natural charisma (leadership abilities) to serve Arachnos to the fullest.

She has recently transitioned into Rogue, having been betrayed by Arachnos more than once in her career. Moved operations mostly to Paragon City and is starting to do things to benefit others than simply herself (has started doing hero tips).

I have a Widow/Fortunata, though she doesn't start out as non-human. With each costume slot I unlock for her, though, she seems to keep becoming more and more undead. At the moment she's got a very Ghost Widow-y look to her.

Odds are I'll be picking up a stealth proc to put in Sprint to give her the transparency to complete her journey into undeath.

My Huntswoman is human, albeit with a magical trinket that allows her to turn her shots into seeking bullets, and a curse that drives her to drink blood. She's a fairly loyal soldier of arachnos, as she doesn't really have high aspirations of power, just a desire to live in luxury with good food, wine, and the opportunity to put bullets through people's (and demon's) skulls.

As you might know if you check out the other threads, I'm considering starting up a Widow who defects from arachnos to start her own organization, with a bee-hive theme instead of a spider one. I'm not sure if I'm going to give her minor bee-themed mutations or if her powers are all body-mods and bio-grafts she's had installed.

Neat thread! It's fun reading some of the ideas folks had for their backstories.

Bane of the Living (SoA) was your standard Recluse cannon fodder soldier until he died. Unlike your standard dead human, he found himself still up and around afterward. He feels no pain, needs no sleep, has much greater strength than when he was alive, and has a pretty obvious grey zombie-ish skin condition unless the light is really bad.

My Night Widow is ACTUALLY an Artificial Intelligence from the 26th century, brought to this time by her hacker creator, in an attempt to rewrite the future. Unfortunately, she's so advanced that while his other AIs work fine in 20th century robots (he's a Bot/Traps MM) she simply could not be uploaded into a body.

Finally, this Arachnos Widow stumbled across this MM, and realized that the future he was planning on creating had no Arachnos in it. So of course, she did the loyal soldier thing and attacked, resulting in her brutal and grisly death. The MM, somewhat amused that she happened to have the same name as his AI, implanted some of his future technology into her head, uploaded his AI, and lo and behold, it worked.

Anyway, so while her body appears to be totally human, and is, in fact she's a sort of zombie cyborg. She can also control her master's Assault Bot across the network. I plan to at one point make an alternate costume in which she turns into a complete robot, making it look as much like the Assault Bot as I can.

Also, obviously this is off topic to a SoA discussion, but I have a Kheldian who is actually a dog. His "human" form is a dog. Beast Run really came in handy for that, so he can actually run on all fours now. But it's kind of amusing that he is non-human in all three of his forms.

Well My favorite Non Human character is an Alien Invader who fails at villainy and some how is recognized as a hero.

Image 1 is him as people normally see him

Sometimes he slips in to his native appearance

The final picture is when he is in his multi-purpose Mecha.
I should point out his side kick is the little robot of doom who never does anything.

Heheh, the only thing missing is the little green dog costume.
