What is this called?
I've been around long enough to remember 8 hour Positrons and the like, and I still feel OK about quitting my latest Barracuda because we didn't have a Defender or an MM and we would have been pounding on Reichsman for a loooooong time without the temp power.
Maybe I just don't the required masochism any more to truely be a good player, and therefore I am forever doomed to be part of the less group of players that thinks having a defender or an MM on Barracuda is a good idea. |
I just never agreed it was absolutely necessary either.
As always YMMV.

I haven't tried the Barracuda SF.
But this makes me laugh and laugh: My first Manticore took seven hours. Zero defenders, zero controllers [well, one who we lost in the first 15 min], one server crash, one power outage to the house where 3 of us were playing. Truly we've lost our edge. |

I'm sorry you feel that way Larker, because I didn't mean for you to take offense. I just feel certain that the devs went out of their way to make sure that players can complete the games content without being forced to rely on having a specific AT to finish anything. Tho I'll admit I can't say that for the new incarnate stuff as my graphics cards died mid December and I haven't been able to do that content.
Now please don't confuse what I said about requiring an AT with teams being harder when players disappear for whatever reason and the remaining players are forced to take up the slack. Disappearing players can easily screw up the remaining members ability to complete a TF. Vanishing players is a completely different issue than blaming the failure of a TF on not having a particular AT. |

I reserve 1-Stars for repeat offenders. A 2-Star person can redeem themselves, but I'm always cautious of putting them in a position where they can repeat their actions (like making him the only debuffer on a long TF, for example).
To clarify, I don't count it as griefing, just poor behavior. |
in otherwords, i'm mean!
Also regarding the OP's question. Most of us just call that the freedom server >.>
I have to say this, RL and ISPs, can get in the way. Last night, I was that guy that disappeared at the start of a task force. A buddy invited me to team as soon as I finished the Kahn I was on. It took forever to finish as we forgot a debuffing toon of any type. they waited. Finally finished, joined the new team and my system crashed at the train before the first mission. Comcast had system outage with no ETA. I screamed and yelled at the cable modem with only two lights on it. I texted my buddy three times to update and finally concede. I defeated Recluse, but a down ISP was beyond me.
People that drop for anything less than wife or child aggro, tech issues, are to be avoided if covnenient for you. Just don't write off people without knowing. Instead, make a note and call them on it if you see them again. Shame still has a place in a community.
For the record, I apologize for my vanishing act and woke up hating comcast still.

Having fun everyday.
The description of both the Kahn and the Cuda TF/SF say it can be completed by a team of 4. Has anyone done it with four?
Do you think the requirements should be changed?
I think Reichsmann has such a bad reputation, that people ignore the fact is says you need 4, and go with 8, not realizing the thing is designed for 4. With 8 players is Reichmann twice as had to kill as he would be with only 4 players? Meaning are his hitpoints ramped up to double what it would have been if it was started as a 4 player team?

I hate to be completely dense, but someone has to explain something to me.
Everything I read about Reichsman in the Barracuda SF says that he becomes invulnerable at 50% and stays that way until he hits 80% unless you have a MM or a defender with the temp power the ends it sooner.
I did this again tonight, and on what I was told here was on another team that did not have either of these AT's but I figured I go with it and see what happened. Our damage and debuffing were both very good. According to some, it is completely possible this way.
I have a power analyzer temp and I opened it up on Reichs as the battle began. As soon as he reached ecactly 50% he became invulnerable. This power of his is based on his HP % and not on time. He remained this way until he reached exactly 80% health when we were once again able to damage him.
This did not happen 3 times as I've read in other threads, this happened a total of 9 times. People started to talk about quitting about the 5th time, and by 9 they'd had enough.
So, here is my question. If it is physically impossible to get him below 50% without stopping him from staying invulnerable and the only way that you can stop him from staying invulnerable is with the temp power given to either a MM or a Defender, how can you beat him without one of these AT's on the team?
Please explain in detail so that I can pass this tidbit of information on to the next team that tries it? Since I'm obviously such a bad player and others are obviously so much better and smarter than I am, please help me to learn to be a better player. What is it that I'm missing? How do you manage to get him below 50% and not have him go invulnerable on you?
I haven't actually done the Baracuda SF (ever), but if it's a version of the same Invulnerable power that most other AVs use (Statesman, Hero 1, Brawler, etc), then it gives 100% damage resistance to most, a lower amount to Toxic and nothing to Psi. If you have sufficient damage of the types the power has a hole to, you can theoretically pound him down regardless.
Again, I haven't done that SF, so I don't know if it's the same version. If it grants 100% resistance to all damage types, then he would be unbeatable without the temp (unless he has weaker than normal AV Resistance Debuff Resistance, which seems unlikely).

when me and my friend duo'd it as per above, i was on an ill/cold so i was dealing mostly psi dmg anyway, which his unstop was very unlikely to give him any resist to, but being on a /cold dom and my friend on a /rad corr, his resists were getting dropped a good bit anyway
i could prolly do some more testing on this when i get around to it

Mind you, after about an hour of whaling on the bastich, Hubby called me in to e-mail him a bunch of envenomed daggers + salvage (thank the devs for personal crafting tables), and a boatload of large red inspies to finally accomplish the feat.

Had that happen to me on STF. The leader had the temp power and quit. Disconnects are one thing. Quitting with the temp power is another.
