Proliferation question on broadsword

Can anyone recall if there has ever been a dev comment on porting Broadsword to Tankers?

I'm sure there has been debate, over the years on the value and or suitability of the parry power with tanker mods, but does anyone recall any kind of official(ish) word on such?

I don't think there's ever been official word on if Tankers will ever get it or not. My guess is that /BA is too close to what /BS would be without Parry.

I think the only official word that ever came down was... "not yet"

That being said, David N. had something... interesting... here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...&postcount=878

Large scale weapons: noted. This kind of thing fits incredibly well in the super-hero genre, and we're definitely quite interested in the idea.
I suspect that when / if a broadsword is brought to tanks it will be a two-handed claymore or BusterSword type weapon with the appropriate stances and animations.

IMHO there should just be an alternate animation set for BS/ that gives you the 2-hander option. Wanted that since forever. I can't think of a reason not to give Tanks the 1-hander option though.

Also want it on Brutes, alt animations or not. Seriously. Nao. BS/ on Brutes.

I doubt they'd do that, considering that it would be one more set that didn't work with Shields.

Well my fire swords will do for now

I really do hope they port this one, and while I appreciate how there could be concern about parry, I don't think it's intuitively obvious that parry would be more problematic for tanks than it already is for scrappers... *

Not that one broken thing justifies another... but still

edit: yes I know tanker mods are different, I make this statement including tanker mods

The cake is a lie! The cake is a lie!

Couldn't they just replace parry with another ability if that's the only problem?

Edit: I apologize if this is 'necromancing' a thread, I was searching through the forums for Broadsword as a tanker powerset, and came across this.

Yes, it is a necromancy, and yes, the mods do frown on thread necromancy.

Goodbye dear thread, we missed you.

Anyways, David's statements were made a little clearer later this year with two words:

Titan. Melee.

What has been revealed about Titan weapons so far, besides the fact they are massive two handed weapons? How big are they, and when can we expect to see them?

If this is the closest I will ever get to broadsword, I might take it... I can't decide what to do with a tanker.

Well, Brutes will have BS and BA next week, so I don't know if we shoudl write off BS for Tankers.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

Titan Weapons will probably be the 2hander sword. It's better for them to work on new powers than alter old ones. It will probably be awhile though.

There was a dev chat highlight thread where I think it was either Positron or Second Measure that stated "eventually almost everything will get proliferated". Wait found it. (See this dev chat highlight thread.) So there's still a possibility that Broadsword could "eventually" get ported to tanks.

Before the Dev's added in the +10% defense in MA's tier 2 power, I would have thought Parry's +def. might have kept them from porting over BS. Now, who's to say. It could happen.

Mind you, I'm certainly not holding my breath, and would love to see it ported to tanks.
