Then and Now.

Not everyone joined this game and made the perfect Costume for there first character. I bet some of them were even horrible. What I want to see is what was your costume on the first character you ever made and the costume they wear now in the first slot. I'll go first.

This is what my first character looked like the first time I played her on Liberty.


Later that day, My roommate told that he played on Victory and I rerolled her same costume but with black hair.

They're all abandoned character concepts (Mother Superior was roughly recycled into an active character, Homily) but here's some character pics I put up in April 2005. No new modern costumes for them but I thought you might enjoy seeing my early attempts at costume creation. I don't think a single one of them ever made it past Hollows/Kings Row

I believe I still play my very first created character - Wyndine MA/SR Scrapper on Pinnacle. I don't have a whole lot of screenshots, but I believe this is pretty close to her original costume, or maybe a first revision - she did have to go through the cherub wings before being able to buy the burned dragon wings:

One of my very first characters was Starina, a Buck Rogers-inspired toon. She was even in beta. Basically I just modified the costume over the years rather than completely altering it.

These are awesome but what the First character to hit the streets or Paragon or the Alleys of the Rogue Isles (like in my case).

Starina was either the first or second character I created back in beta. Cuke Nukem was the other, but I don't have screenshots of him handy.

I had about 4 or 5 characters when i first started playing CoH, can't remember which was first tho. I remember CyborGirl was my main, got to about lvl28 i think, lol.



I also had 2 MA/SD's i liked, Green Flash and... can't remember the other one... 2 MA/SR's, Kawasaki Man and Blue Whizzer and 2 Claws/Fire, Rubicante and Demonica... I was a bit scrapper crazy, lol. Oh, and a Fire/Ngy blaster, Super - Nova



Then i left CoH for over a year and returned with a new breed of Hero, Intergalactic Henri, Emperor of the Universe... no, really



But... i suppose to answer you question, I do have one character i played in that first batch that still exists in my roster now, although has had a change of name and concept. He's a SS/SD tanker and started life as a confused mutant called Highflight (don't ask, no idea where that name came from )


Now he's called Angels and Demons and the concept is that he can actually manifest into the good and evil sides that sit on our shoulders and whisper in our ears.

Out of the ones I linked, I'm preeeeettttyyyy sure that Neutron Blast was the first. I'm not sure if he was my absolute first, though.

I'm a little surprised at people saying they don't remember their first hero... it's the same as your global name.
Yes I know globals can be changed now and that possibly didn't apply to beta (maybe it did I wasn't in until issue 2)
but just think what your global friends knew you as back then... that was your first hero.

Personally I think there should've been some kind of warning sticker on the CD/DVD/game box, be aware that the first character you
create will be your ingame name for a loooong time so maybe hold off on making Captain Fuzzy Pants until your 2nd hero
(I got lucky and chose an cool memorable name but I bet some were less thrilled with their global).

Oh and my first hero still wears the same exact costume, it's still awesome so why mess with it?

You have been able to change globals for a loooong time (you just could only change it *once*, and they gave people recently a chance to change it another time). My global was my first characters name for about 5 mins.

I started in I0, well before globals. When I returned, my global was the first character I logged into (which I then changed), not my first character.

My global is just Henri, and i've never had a toon just called Henri. I'm sure it was a choice what i had as my global.

True story, my good friend finally took my advice and created an account and joined the game...
She wasn't sure if the laptop she was using at the time could handle the game, so she quickly made a character...
For some reason... Named Dorkus1... Because (of course) Dorkus was already taken......
Haha...
And, of course, I told her that you can never change your global name and she would forever have that as her public global handle.

So for so Good, and CR you can't use Red's toon as yours that's cheating.

PowerStream was my first toon...
This was his first costume - minus the cape of course:

He was as short as you could make a huge toon. He was from the future and was Russian. I had an idea to base him on Puck from Marvel for some reason except as an energy/energy blaster...

This is his latest incarnation (partly thanks to Zynrgy for his photoshop redesign):

The original still exists as I can't delete him, but this is the latest version on a new server and he is fire/dark corruptor. He is now a normal sized guy inside of a suit and is Praetorian.

So Mike we showed you ours, show us yours.
