As always, seek me out in the crystal of fire and ice. Or... depending on when you are reading this, you may have merely seen me minutes ago. |
Let's speculate! (I19 Spoilers Ahoy)
Mender Ramiel
"As always, seek me out in the crystal of fire and ice. Or... depending on when you are reading this, you may have merely seen me minutes ago." This immediately puts a big red arrow over Silos or Ramiel, though theoretically it could be any character previously seen in the arc or none of them thanks to the ambiguity of the phrasing. |
There's a pair of missions blueside - a low level one where you have to stop the Skulls from blowing up a building, and a high level one where you have to stop Malta from interfering with a young hero who's stopping the Skulls from blowing up a building. I think the second encounter with this letter will be while working from "the other end" of the mission; probably you're the one that makes the Well vanish, thus forcing yourself onto the "slow and steady" incarnate route.
"Trust me, it worked in the Simpsons." - Calash
I'd say it's possibly the other way around - the Devouring Earth are Earth's version of whatever the heck the Shivans are. |
Remember, when Cole fought Hamidon, it was not the Jello We Know. They battled, unable to hurt one another. This implies physical blows; stabbing, clawing, punching, kicking.
The Praetorian Hamidon also had claws and tentacles, according to Tyrant's bio.

What was it in Lady Jane's mission for the midnight squad she was seeking? didn't it turn out to be a vial of Hero 1's blood (I don't remember for certain).
and isn't that what the player finds smashed on the ground before encountering Holtz and the weakened Honoree? I wonder if that means anything.
Also, in that last mission of the Ramiel arc we encounter echoes again, and echoes who seem to know that the character will be a god in a future timeline. I wonder then who put them there? It seems odd that if we were travelling back in time to the location of the well, there would be no actual enemies, only echoes.
Could the memory we see from our supposed future self be faked? I mean, if Ramiel is the letter writer then he has Protean at his disposal too so that could in fact be Protean we see dishing the damage and what not.
Also the Silos of Faathims dimension....Darrin Wade perhaps? Not sure why I think that but hey I am hella sleep deprived right now.
Food for thought, I hope.
The Shivans
You know, we never quite learned what Shiva was, other than a "world devouring god". But we know the Shivans are apparently the envoys of the Coming Storm. I realized something curious about the Shivans, though. They're made of ectoplasm, a blue/green goo. They have cores that rest at the center of their mass. They come from meteor fragments; rocks that pulse with a strange energy that apparently have some kind of sentience about them. And they use human bodies as a host of sorts. Ectoplasm with a core at its center? Sentient rocks powered by a strange energy? And they (can) use human bodies as a host. |
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
Dear Character... Are we old friends by the time you're reading this? Or do you have no idea who I am? In the end it doesn't matter - in time, you will come to know who I am and what I aim to do. I hope you do not despair about the loss of your double and the fate of Protean. Your double died valiantly, while Protean is where he needs to be at this time. Do you know about the Coming Storm? About Ouroboros? If not, you will know soon enough of the two threats that seek to destroy us all. The head of Ouroboros, Mender Silos, has his own 'followers' that seek to 'save us' from the Coming Storm. I intend to gather my own team of dedicated individuals to ensure that we are properly saved. Protean will be one of them. Perhaps you're worried that I would recruit Protean; you shouldn't be. I happen to know of something that Protean wants very badly. Enough that he would aid my efforts to save all of existence. I say this to you because I hope, when the time comes, you will aid me against Ouroboros and the Coming Storm. Both seek to destroy us; one at least has the common decency to be upfront about it. I will leave you to dwell on this for now, Character. Just know that as you read this letter, I am doing everything I can to save us all from a grim future. I hope that soon you will stand side by side with me to do the same. |

The Silos from Faathim's reality? That one's just odd. Heck, a character that just name-drops Faathim to begin with is notable. But why would there even be a Mender Silos to go along with the Shadow Shard?

(I have a pet theory that the Shard actually is Rularuu, but the weirdness is thick enough here already.)
The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
The Shadow Shard is not Faathim's reality, as I understand the matter. Faathim--and the other Aspects we have encountered, I believe--are analogs of Rularuu from various alternate worlds that the Ravager has subsumed and enslaved. The Shard is simply the place in which Rularuu was trapped when he was prevented from ravaging the Primal, not Faathim's home.

Well, that was a cutscene. I don't think they really count.
