I am too often surprised at the garbage they make lately.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

If I remember right, neither the shark or octopus won, they were frozen in ice again

They made a sequel to Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus!
...But with Steve Urkel instead of the Renegade.
OMG YES!!!!!

I gotta find out when this is coming out, and when it's airing on SyFy. I might actually be back in America in time to watch it!

EDIT: BAH! It's coming out on DVD this month. Looks like I'll either have to Torrent it or hope I can get lucky enough to find a way to order it over here. On the plus side, it also stars Robert Picardo!

Here's the thing. "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" was a bad movie. And I really don't mean in a "so bad it's enjoyable" kind of way that other dreck like "Mansquito" or "Ice Spiders" was. It was bad in a "Manos the Hands of Fate" kind of way in which it would only be enjoyable (maybe) if being made fun of by a guy and robot puppets.

Believe me when I say I can actually sit down and enjoy some of these awful movies. "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus" had nothing even remotely enjoyable to it at all. The trailer for this looks even worse. "Sharktopus," on the other hand...horrid but fun.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Neither one but it didn't end the way you said, it was far less satisfying then that ending would have been. They somehow simultaneously fatally wounded each other at the exact same moment and sank to the depths.

Pretty much this, there is that famous moment where the shark leaps into the air and chomps a plane... that's the only highlight of the entire movie and it happens 15 minutes in. Too much of it was just plane boring or gave me the impression that they were intentionally trying to make it bad to such a degree that it was just that. Flat out bad, not cheesy toxic avenger bad. But makes no sense and is completely unlikeable bad. The Asylum seems to be famous for making completely rotten movies, though most of them are knock offs intended to trick buyers who don't know better like Transmorphers and Alien vs Hunter.

Deborah Gibson's acting wasn't too bad in Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.

Besides, it WAS an Asylum film. These are the people that brought us Titanic 2 for crying out loud!

Who wants to bet that the next Vs. movie will have a giant snake in it?

Those have already been done to death. Way too early to recycle them.

Unless they come up with something unique, like maybe a giant snake genetically modified with piranha DNA.

I should stop giving them ideas.

The problem with the last movie (besides the obvious) was that it didn't have enough action to make it a truly enjoyable horrible movie. I think they fixed that this time.

They need one with a gigantic stinging insect. That would scare me more.
