EUREKA!! I did it! Managed to create my first ever texture file. It's not perfect by a long shot. The join along the wings is mismatched and the central red stripe is too thick, but for a first attempt, i'm quite happy . A bit of tweeking with the patterns and i think British Hero's debut into the 3dArt world is imminent...





Now, about that robot...

And not at all DD, i've actually got loads of ideas for texture files i want to do and that all involves lots of 2d painting. But i know what you mean, and i'll defo be continuing with the drawing, it's just at the moment, this is shiney and i can't get enough of it

The paintjob on the car looks okay to me Henri but the red stripe actually looks orange. It's a big improvement over red if you ask me.

check out along the curve of the front and rear wings, you can see the pattern doesn't match up, that's what i need to work on. Although doing LimeD's costume has really given me some pointers on blind matching the seams... but there's got to be an easier way than this, surely... dressmakers, talk to me

That was exactly the debate i was having with myself, i even did a version with the window smaller and stone walls showing on either side, but decided it just looked too busy around the boarder and took your eye away from the subjects. Ah well, win some lose some

As we're talking about it, can anyone spot the two mistakes i noticed after posting it... one is horrendous, the other... less horrendous

No need foir a villain, she is clearly being stalked by Herbie the Love Big already...

They're both to do with the lamp post. The worst one is i've totally forgotten to light the side of the post we can see in the reflection. In reality the light from the lamp would reflect in the plate glass and light that side of the post quite brightly. Annoying as i've lit the reflected image of the car and of Atomic Flux, totally forgot the lamp post, stupid careless error. The other smaller but equally careless mistake is that we can just see the right hand face of the lamp itself, but there's no light coming out of it, grrr

And of course the most horrendous mistake, and the one i think Chris is alluding to, i've completely forgotten to add his character, hehe

K, here's my latest one. Told you British Hero might make an appearance, and after the time i spent doing that texture map for the car it's a good job he turned up, lol!! British Hero's costume itself is also a completely new custom texture map but unfortunately you can't see the detail i put into the blue and white undersuit in this pic, maybe he'll show you himself...

This is looking really neat H! I love that car!

Can't help noticing though... it still needs glass in that window.
