Henri's Arty Creations and stuff.
And, again, CR's eye for detail makes us look at art again and say, 'Huh, how about that.'
Be Well!
Fireheart
What I really like is all the scuff marks on the helmet, a great attention to detail there.
Thanks for the comments guys, and since you mentioned it Chris, i see you're only half right about the sun glare on the eyes, whereas i'm fully wrong, lol! If you draw a line from the sun glare on the helmet through the sun glare on the visor and down her face it shows the lighting line is just to the (our) right of her nose. As eyes are convex i should have done both glares on the opposite sides, Doh!
And yeah, lower lashes, knew there was something missing
I'll probably not repost the same pic updated here, but will amend in DA, cheers again, life is a lesson
Hey, new piece just finished of my latest character, Darkpoint, Archery/Dark Corruptor. Struggled on lots of this, especially forshortening the arm and doing the hands, still, it's all practice. Also full body picture, damn it's a lot of work, lol.
Anyway, hope you like, as always fullsize piece is on my DA site, click sig. Cheers H.
Very nice piece Henri

In other words.. Waaaant -grabby hands- etc :P
Awesomeness, Henri!
Yeah, arms and aspecially hands are particulary tricky! I know all about it!
You did quite nice though! Something is still off on the arm that holds the bow, but otherwise: "Artistic skills improved by 1 point"
I love the colour combinations you used. And how the red arrowpoint reflects in the cape and the arrow holder! Well done, well done indeed!

Cheers for the comments guys, always appreciate hearing how you see my arty attempts
Yep Caem, you're not far from the truth there, the character is kind of based on a pastiche of a handful of non powered heroes, namely Moonknight/Batman/Hawkeye and even the Darkness to a certain extent, in that his dark powers aren't an ability of his, but more a seperate dark entity that lives within him... that was the idea anyway, heh
Annnnnd rest...
Hi all, bit of a different direction for me for this next one of Nuclear Zero. I've spent the last week intensively trying to teach myself all about the mysteries of 3d art and rendering wotnots (well, they were mysteries to me, lol) and after nearly going mental and throwing myself off a very tall building, i'm actually managing to produce some results now! yay
Character morphed from Genisis base and rendered in Daz Studio 4.
Effects, background and CoH recognisable details digitally painted and added with GIMP 2.6.
Cheers for looking, H.
Nice Henri you can see the improvement from the previous piece.

No worries Saph, hope you like it. Just had you dancing 'staying alive', looked really cool. I'll see if there's a way to post it...
I'm going to just be choosing people at random to render so keep an eye out folks.... it could be YOU!
And thanks Night Hornet, i feel i'm getting a handle on applying the lighting correctly now which makes a massive difference to the finished render. On the Saph one there, i have an orange spotlight at close range at our bottom left, and a cool blue distant light, mid level on our right, makes a good contrast i think. All good fun
Stay tuned for the next episode of.... Henri goes 3D! *giggles*
Nice work!

Sexy pose on Neko, and the texture of the wings looks neat! Nice work.
Love the neko stuff XD
The dance totally reminded me of this though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1ZcIAAFU7I which made me giggle.
Thought i'd just post this too, altho it's not CoH related... tis quite cool tho i think
It's a character i'm designing in Daz4 at the moment, she's called Effy and she a tough, dysopian, near future, cyber chick, surviving on her luck and her wits. This is only the first render so it's still very flat, there's no lighting, pose, expression or anything... or hair! Lol, still need to decide on her hair yet, but i was thinking it will be a short urchin cut in a bright neon colour... possibly.
Once she's alive i'm hoping to feature her in a series of pictures to tell her story. Should be quite a project
So what dyou think? like her? change anything?
cheers for looking
..............I'm really unhappy with the eyes tho, i've done so better eyes before, just couldn't get them to live in this pic tho, ho hum, next...
to the other side (unless it's right in the middle). As it stands now it's lit very unbelievably, especially since her hair is
casting a shadow on the right side that would prevent a hotspot on that side. This will make it look
like something is off to many people even if they can't tell you why it looks wrong.
Looking at her helmet visor shows that the light causing the hotspot is coming from (camera) right
so I would suggest moving the white dot on her left eye to the other side
and removing the dot from her right eye altogether.
Beyond that the pupils are too large (and oddly kind of square-ish) for the amount of ambient and directional light striking them.
They should only be that large in a dimly lit room or a night scene. Also there are eyelashes above but none
below which even if makeup is used to accentuate the upper lid the lower should still be visible
unless the figure is far enough away in which case neither would be visible.
The lighting on the skin above the eye should have a different shape than below the eye. The way you have
it now looks like you just drew a white line around the outside that follows the black outline.
The center of the eyes should also line up closer with the outer edge of the lips.
These were the thoughts that occurred to me on first glance, hope they help.
Cheers!
