So when Virtue shows 3 red dots...

Where praytell are all these players? 'Cause they're not in Kings Row, Steel Canyon, Talos, Mercy, Oakes, Cap or Sharkhead.

If people are still zerging though Praetoria, it stands to reason there would be a decent number of players in the initial 20+ zones, but I haven't seen it.

Granted KR and Oakes have been ghost towns for ages. But it sure seems to me that the abandonment is spreading to the previously active zones of Steel and Cap as well. Are people farming tips on 50's or something?

And yes, this -is- partially a "Where the hell are the teams?!" post. Call me crazy, but I still think of Praetoria as a series of zones to solo through. And for as great as the Praetorian content is, sometimes I'd rather just get to 20 on a new toon in a timely manner and get it over with.

After finishing the Power storyline, I went back to blueside and redside for teams, but they're not there. If I want to solo, I'll go back to Praetoria.

I'd imagine that some of the people who level up through Praetoria will just start sidekicking up to their friends who are working on late level 30s/level 40s content.

I see plenty of folks on Virtue and I'm getting a couple of invites per night doing nothing much besides logging in to check my market slots.

I've noticed the same thing on Freedom Server. Three red dots. When GR first came live and I would try to sign in, it would sometimes put me in a que and let me know how long I would have to wait before I could get on. Needless to say, I have not ran into that for the past couple of months or soon after GR went live.

With that being said, I too have not noticed much change in the amount of people on Freedom in either the Blue side or Red side waltzing around zones, and this includes Praetora even though the majority of time my server will show 3 reds. Could this be a sneaky ploy by the dev's to pretend that the two most popular servers are so full with GR giddy players old and new that they are trying to give the perception that the game with GR is just so ungodly popular that people just can't stop playing it?

Ever since I've been with CoX Jan. 09 and some of the 2004-2005 era, whenever there was an upgrade or added issue that may have had some substantial content, (case in point when City of Villains was added) the activity on the servers that one normally sees, would usually settle back down from the three red dots down the the two or one green dot. My gut feeling is either the dev's reduced the numbered allowance per servers on how many players each server can handle to "help" give the illusion that GR is much more popular than it really is or we have a plethora of people out there in never never land that just don't exist as we never see them and this is causing the three red dots for Freedom and Virtue?

Or......it's an accurate reflection of server load.

I've watched the population slowly ebb back toward 'normal' since the GR frenzy and haven't seen anything to support the popular conspiracy theory that they 'cook' the server loads to....do whatever that's supposed to do.

We've gone from everything being red every night to the more popular servers being red every night and the others being yellow to last night, where the two big guys were red, about half the others were yellow and the lower pop servers were green.

It certainly looks like an organic progression to me.

Are you using the more popular globals to form/find teams, Agonus? I find that the server load dots accurately reflect the activity in the major global teaming channels.

One word: Instance. One more word: Mission.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

Ah, right, almost forgot where I was. Ask a straightforward question, get one decent answer, then a bunch of ******** remarks or get told you're wrong.

I do a search by level in whatever zone I'm passing through at the time, then search by level in all the zones. When 5-15 total players show up for the 6-20 level range, and I'm the only one flagged as looking for a team, I'll solo for a bit to use up Patrol XP and/or move on to another character.

Oddly, I'm noticing more and more people have /hide turned on to at least some degree at all times when they play. Is it possible that they're there, and just not showing up on the search?

Um, well smart *** is the standard for Virtue, but the instance/mission/hide thing is your answer. Lots of folks hide.

They're all in AE farming away to 50, and then they leave the game 2-3 days later because of "Lack of content"

As an ex-World-of-Warcrap player, I have to say that the level of rude responses you have received here is very tame. Some of the more smart-alecky replies I would mark down as attempts at humor, and not as direct assaults on your statement or attacks on your person.

Everything is relative I suppose, but I have found that the community here is a significant improvement over that other game’s community, and have therefore become somewhat protective of it.

On a more personal note, when on my main character (Sectaria, level 45 plant-emp troller), I solo a lot. This is because I have a one-year-old little boy at home, and I might need to leave the keyboard at any time to deal with a bottle feeding or a diaper change.

Things are getting more routine with my son these days, and after 8pm, (once the little monster, and my wife, are in bed) I am more inclined to group in a team. Also, as I am more competent in my abilities to play my character (as I am still new to this game), I am becoming more eager to get involved in groups because I am a lot less afraid of messing up and annoying my fellow group mates.

Feel free to ask my Sectaria to join your group at any time, (assuming I am on). Don’t worry if I am flagged for “looking for team” or not, as I keep forgetting to use that feature. I might not have the time to commit to a long mission, but if I am available, it will be my pleasure to group with you!

As a new player, everything is still fresh for me, so I am not picky about which missions I do, or at which levels I do them. (In other words, I will do any mission I am eligible to…) Just be warned that I am still learning the game, and I might make the occasional newbie mistake.

Cheers!
