Green Hornet Trailer
Ah, I guess I could have appreciated that more if they reference it in the preview. I just heard some guy shouting that they need to get the Green Hornet, and it seemed like it was the other guy they should really be worried about, heh.
|
Anyway, I guess I could get more behind the idea if it wasn't Seth Rogan playing the part. I dunno, but he annoys the heck out of me, rather than being entertaining.
|
But I'll really like them in other movies (i.e. Truman Show, Wedding Singer, Stranger Than Fiction). I'm hoping that Green Hornet turns out to be one of the latter types for Rogan. Time will tell.
Well, Seth Rogan being a total nincompoophead has killed any chance that I am going to watch him in what promises to be an angonizingly tripe-filled movie.
I boycotted 'Catwoman' with Halle Berry. If I can do *that*, I can certainly boycott the 'Green Vomit'. BRING BACK VAN WILLIAMS! TEAM HIM UP WITH JACKIE CHAN! 'nuff said, True Believers! Excelsior! |
Heck Jackie Chan is no spring chicken either (but he's certainly younger than Van).

However, anyone in the know (and with even a modicum of sense) cannot help but be disappointed in this smouldering tripe and its disrespect for the intellectual property upon which it is supposedly based (or debased in this case).

And at the risk of starting something flamey, will end it simply by stating as someone who has one of the two GH serials on video, every episode of the 60's GH TV series recorded from an FX marathon nearly 10 years ago, a complete collection of the entire 1990's GH comics series from Now Comics (every series, every issue), I consider myself both with a modicum of sense AND in the know...AND *I* am looking forward to this movie.

"So come and get me! I'll be waiting for ye, with a whiff of the old brimstone. I'm a grim bloody fable, with an unhappy bloody end!" Demoman, TF2
I will probably go see this, most likely with my gaming group so we can quietly snark our way through the film. (Like we do with virtually every superhero movie.) My taste in movies is varied enough that I can get away with it.
(And I agree, Yogi Bear is definitely on the 'miss' list. Of the trailers I saw today before HP7a... "Season of the Witch", probably. "Green Hornet," probably. "Green Lantern," most likely. "Red Riding Hood," not even for Gary Oldman whom I adore.)

If you and Miss D_R are willing to give this movie a chance, then I *might* actually have to do the same (at least until a reviewer blasts the movie).
In any case, I'll wait for it to come to the local discount moviehouse.
Thanks, GL68!

Oh, and did I mention my Green Hornet and Kato Captain Action figures?
Yeah, I may've forgotten about those...

But yeah, Super-Irish Axford was in both, but the first serial was the origin story. I don't remember much about "Strikes Again". I've still got it, but I only watched it once. It's on the shelf with all my other movie serials.
((Interesting note: In the Captain Marvel serial, Captain Marvel totally chucks some dude off a roof. ))

Although the new Carl's Jr. tie-in commercial may not be a trailer per se, it looks like it captures the film's spirit, style, and wit as much as anything we've seen so far.
