Origins Pack Satisfaction

I'm really quite satisfied with the Origins Pack and feel like it was worth the $10.

Iron Rose: My MA/Regen Scrapper on Victory is using the Leaves aura to fit her status as a person who's become a fertility figure via science rather than nature. I'd like to anchor it lower on her body, but it still looks very good.

Holly Star: My Energy/Energy blaster switched from the starburst glow to the Atomic aura around her fists. Holly's powers work by creating microscopic wormholes to teleport energy into her body. The teleportation is supposed to generate blue-tinted Cherenkov radiation. I also wanted to give it a curling affect to make it reminiscent of particle traces. The atomic aura accomplishes this quite nicely.

Glaice: My Cold/Dark defender is an ancient fairy witch from far northern Europe. She'll be getting the Cloak of the Eighth Circle as soon as I can get her back to FF to turn in her Nemesis helmets to Carson.

I'm incredibly pleased with it. Over half my characters are using some part of it at this point.

And a huge highpoint to me is NEVER running the aura/cape mission again :P

I'm pleased I've been able to buy it. Unfortunately, I won't get to actually apply it for a while, maybe not until after the weekend. ARGH!

Another fun application is tinting the leaves of the leaf aura pinkish to emulate sakura petals.
Now we just need to get access to moving hair.

You will never see it for players at this point.
Hope the devs will focus in making our avatars look as good as the latest NPC from GR, like Noble Savage, Belladona, Mother Mayhem...

I don't have it, I'm considering buying it. Quick question: are you confined to the auras/capes for the origin of your character?

The reason I ask is that I have a plant dom that I would like to use leaves for, but she's not a Natural origin.

I gotta agree with most all here; the pack is quite well done.

I've applied the pack's contents to (now) 20 of my characters, and the list is growing.

Only complaint: the cape with the wrenches on it?

Even though I am an engineer IRL (and loves me my wrenches)....

please, devs/art team, REMOVE the wrenches!

Thanks!

They are not Origin locked. Just Origin themed.

Very happy with this pack. My mutant characters can't get enough of the Atomic aura! I have to explore more of them in the CC.

For an impulse purchase, this costume pack is proving to be a nice little addition to costume themes. In particular, the new auras bring something extra to combat ambiance, e.g. sparks for tech armor characters while fighting. The steam aura is also an obvious fit for steam punk armor and possibly the Resistance shoulder pieces, which I'm certainly going to experiment with.

Actually i don't see why we wouldn't. The Wedding Pack included a hair with veil option that is mutually exclusive with capes. Hair like Ghost Widow's is basically like shorter version of the cape rig with a different texture.
Also slightly less wavy, rippling moving hairstyles like ponytails, braids, and dreadlocks could use a rig like the tails.

This doesn't mean it's likely to be a Dev priority, nor does it mean that it will happen, but it certainly is feasible.

Speaking of feasible, a dreadlocks hairstyle that looks like actual dreadlocks and not spiky gutterpunk hair would be nice.

I agree, all the options they have added to combat auras per set is so nice. As I don't always like having the aura on while standing still, having them come on while I attack is a very nice touch.

While I don't know how much of a coding challenge separate idle and combat auras would present, that's going on my CoX wish list after this set.
