And so it begins.

I'm setting up the thread, because this is easily the most anticipated episode of season 2. I won't, however, have a chance to watch this until tomorrow night.

Enjoy, speculate, and antici-

I assume that date's because we're doin' the Time Warp again? 8D

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

Dammit, Janet! I mean, Marcian!

I am excited for this and I am not even a huge Rocky Horror fan.

I'll be watching this as a Rocky fan, not so much a Glee fan. Looking forward to it though.

It's a Ryan Murphy episode. You get 100% or 10%. You get no other.

Yeah, I don't know if I hated that episode or loved it.

Glee should definitely stop doing themed episodes for a while. They can't properly write a story around a theme.

My only concern was that it seemed to demonize Rocky Horror a bit, but of course I love the original and have a massive bias.

And they nailed the beginning, absolutely perfect.

Quick comments.

1) Due to the nature of TV, it's very tough to have the entire number of any song from a musical while maintaining the song's original pace. I wish they didn't have to abbreviate "Science Fiction, Double Feature". However I did shout LIPS! at the TV.

2) Brit makes a great Columbia, Tina not so much. Just as Santana made a great Magenta, Quinn not so much.

3) Marcian called it, Time Warp was the last number.

4) Mexican Terrorist Ants

5) "Give me some chocolate or I'll cut you."

6) Trivia: Jayma May who plays Emma did "Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-me" for her Glee audition.

BOOM!

You can spoil this much: How much of my guess about its execution was accurate?

I think I'm legally entitled to take BillZBubba and force him to watch the episode, Clockwork Orange style.

Mercedes makes a great Frankenfurter! She went full Ballroom with that number.

Demonizing it was part of the ironic message I felt. Not to mention that is pretty much spot on how it would be treated in a lot of high schools if they tried to put it on as a student musical.

If you really want an unequivocal message on how they feel about RHPS, pay attention to Shue's (sp) speech at the end.

I really loved the episode. I felt it was tasteful and flirtatious without being trashy. I also felt that it was laughably pitch perfect in light of the stupid arguments about the GQ spread. The sexiest moments were had by the adults playing adult characters, not the adults playing kids. All their outfits were very nearly demure. That may not be what they were thinking or planning when they shot the episode, but it works in light of the "controversy" People are worried about adult actors acting like sexy adults in their off time, but when it comes to their roles as children on the show, its clear they give some thought to how sexy is too sexy.

Edit- From the true Gleeks out there, can someone tell me who sang the Lips opener? I'm not familiar enough with voices.

My big problem with the episode is the reason why Will put it on in the first place. I hate it when the make Will to be this stalker and make Emma some prize he has to win.

I don't mind it when he is portrayed to be as big a loser as the Glee kids, but I feel like they make him into a d-bag while they want to make him appear sweet and cute in his teenager-like ways to impress a lady.

Everyone thinks that it's so dramatically romantic that he grabbed Emma's arm, pulled in close, and said "I don't care that you have a boyfriend; I will never quit courting you"*. I found it a foundation for him alternating as a villain later in the show.

With any wisdom, they'll take fan feedback and have an episode where he gets his, like they did with Kurt "I only wanted to molest him" Hummel.

*Yes, he really did that.

Yup, I was thinking about that moment and our discussion about it when RHG made it clear as to why Will was staging the musical. And his interactions with Emma and Carl during the course of this episode made me hate him a little bit.

I guess your right, but like I said, I'm biased.

Also I think it was Santana singing Science Fiction Double Feature.

Well as people have pointed out, everyone on the show is dysfunctional in some way or have major character flaws. Some are simple like Sue, who doesn't like the competition for the spot light. In some ways she is like Rachel. I would imagine if the football team starts to win a lot, she would feel threatened by them as well.

Will may have married his high school sweetheart but it was a marriage where he gave and she took. In fact it was Will's attraction to Emma that drove her to the whole faux baby affair that led to the divorce. Then it was Will's fault for making out with Rachel's bio-mom and sharing a bed with our favorite 4'11" former jockey and pie waitress that drove Emma off. So too bad, so sad that he doesn't get her, for now.

Exactly.

And, at the end of last season, when Emma told Will that he needed to find himself before they could ever hope to reconnect, he agreed.

But he hasn't let off of the gas pedal in his pursuit of Emma. Basically, last season, Emma told Will to back away, for their own sakes, and he has ignored that.

The show really needs to give Will another female character to act cute (not necessarily in a romantic way) with. And not Cheneworth. Though I love her, I feel her character is a bit too cartoony to be used more than once or twice per season.

Okay, I watched it. No preaching for a change, no shilling for some crap, just a regular story. Will's creepiness was fine with me -- everyone has faults and this is the big one he's exhibited all along. The musical numbers were fine and the two cameos were fun. This is the kind of show Glee should be: mostly fun with some side dilemma to up the stakes, a bit of a moral at the end and some good music.

It is, of course, completely preposterous that any high school except the richest ones would be able to afford to put on something that looked like that. I actually went to high school in southwest Ohio and believe me, few of them had that kind of money to throw around. The costumes alone cost more than every production we ever staged, that's for sure.

Unfortunately I hate John Stamos now. He's THAT good looking *and* he can sing? Damn him. I thought he just played bongos as his special talent. ("Aruba, Jamaica, ooh I wanna take ya...") The only consolation is that his super hot wife left him for a total meathead. Although that was probably for something lame like the fact he's friends with Rickles.

He always could sing decently well.

Something I meant to mention before. I was massively stoked to see Barry Bostwick and Meat Loaf. I dunno if their cameo was well known before the episode, but it was a surprise to me, and incredibly squee worthy.

OMG! I totally missed the guest stars. I admit it's been a few years since I saw them in anything but how could I not recognize Meatloaf and Barry Bostwick?!

Brit line of the episode; "I'm going as a peanut allergy."
