Where the heck is my Power Hungry Badge?

Please forgive if this has been mentioned before: I'm slowly working one toon through the halloween arc, and all the badges are dropping fine except for Power Hungry, which is only a little white square.

Is it just me?

With any luck they'll fix it before the Mayan apocalypse.

Yeah I reported it as a bug last week. It's probably something that would take about 10 seconds to fix in the code but strangely enough (as Silver Gale implied) these kinds of badge bugs seem to take many weeks (or even months) before they are finally worked into some future patch. It's definitely going to be considered a very low priority thing. I'm sure it'll be corrected, just don't expect it to be as quick as one would think it ought to be. *shrugs*

The badges for collecting 10, 20 and 50 costumes didn't get proper icons (they used the explore badge icon as a stand-in) until Issue 18, so it may be a while.

This is true. And when you dig into that situation a bit more you'll realize the Devs didn't even give those 3 badges their own -unique- artwork. The badge artwork those badges finally got were "leftover" from other badges that never got implemented. So basically it took years for the Devs to bother assigning those 3 badges some generic artwork that was lingering in the code for all those years.

The only hope we have for the Power Hungry badge is that we know the unique artwork for it already exists in the game. It's simply the red version of the other Malleus Mundi badges. It should be (when the Devs get around to it) a relatively trivial matter of linking the artwork pathname to the badge.

It doesn't even seem that hard to put it into the game, why not just put it into the next patch?

It's seriously the kind of thing that could very likely be fixed in 10 seconds or less. But because it's also probably Item #378 on their prioritized "To Do" list there's a realistic chance we won't see it fixed for several patches. Since it's not a "game-braking" bug it'll get pushed back on the queue no matter how trivial it is. That's the way these things work.

HOW long have the Pocket D and Grandville beacons been broken? The artwork's there, it's just that the working beacon pointer is aimed at the wrong file.

You'd think it'd be a five minute fix, but...

If this is the same thing, then it might get fixed sometime before the heat death of the universe, but I don't really suggest holding your breath.

That badge is so power hungry that it ate everything and became a black hole and consumed itself.

@Cende: Huh... you know, all this time, I had assumed that the shattered screen that was supposed to display Grandville on teleport beacons looked that way on purpose. My take on it was that Recluse's oppressive regime had Grandville in such a tight grip that the cameras taking the photo were found by Arachnos and destroyed to prevent do-gooders from gathering intel on it, or something like that.

Pocket D using the same pic seemed odd, but it never really connected that it was a bug. Huh.


Rule number six of an empathy defender is NEVER underestimate a blaster's ability to die. I don't care if he has CM, Fort, both RAs, bubbles (both FF and Sonic), and is fighting next to a Storm defender with hurricane on. If there is a way to die in that situation, the blaster will find it.

Actually it would likely require someone to actually care to fix the problem. Given how quickly the Power Hungry badge was fixed, it is an example of where bases fit into the grand scheme of things. Sad, isn't it?

I don't mind being wrong on a prediction like this when the net effect was that we could have very well guilted the Devs into fixing this quickly just so that they could prove us "negative Nellys" wrong.

As far as I can tell, that only leaves the misfit Trailblazer badge for heroes with an improper icon. For whatever reason, it didn't get changed to the new badges earned icon style for heroes when the others in that series did.

This is also entirely possible.
