When the boc pops up, paste the url into it
Finished.

p.s. - Great new arts Lasy C
Never tried Caemgen's way (too many steps ) but I just do it manually.
The syntax is the word "icon" and the persons name in between colons, with no spaces.
So for example mine is...

:iconChristopherRobinArtz:

so if you put that into a message box on DA and hit preview you should see a link to me/my avatar.
Cheers.

I've decided to also have a go at colouring my sketch from Lady C. Evening no.1 and i've managed 3 bits of ice and a shin pad, lol... this may take some time...

Although it has made me order a graphics pad, it's too tricky with the mouse . Will post once it's finished

That's actually a very convincing ice effect Henri.
Also gratz on getting a tablet... is it a Wacom?

Stop! Collaborate and Listen!
No, not a wacom yet. It's actually the cheapest one i could find, reasons being i don't know what i want from a pad yet as i've never used one, so i want to see how i take to it, how much use i get from it, what i need from a pad, etc. This one was only 16 quid, so it won't kill me if it becomes an electronic coffee mug coaster

click

thanks for the comment on the ice, fairly happy with that too

Haven't heard about Trust tablets before but they might be a mostly UK sales company.

Hmmm that sounds like a whole lot of Lusca to hunt... oh wait 16 "quid"
...nevermind.

16 GBP is just over 25 USD these days so yeah the price is certainly right as the cheapest Wacom
(barring sales or used) is almost twice that. You'll have to let us know how it works out for you.

WOW Henry that looks great so far! That ice effect is pretty cool how did you manage it? Cant wait to see it finished.

I've had some people asking me for commissions, not sure what to say I never thought anyone would like my little duck faced creations well enough for a commission. So any advice would be appreciated.

*Looks back at the long list of tips he left near the beginning of the thread and notices mention
of upcoming commissions and getting a paypal account ready for when they happen*

You should talk to DD (Darth Delicious) I've only done one run of commissions so far (due to a very busy holiday season) but the things I picked up I passed along to her and she is now open for commissions. She is another "pencil on paper" artist who gave away lots of freebies and got asked about commissions now is just starting out offering them (and now has a friend offering to do coloring too as a bonus), you guys could share ideas/info back and forth.

Also Juggertha, Lady Judgement, ImagesByAlex, etc etc or any other artists here (now or at some point previously) and on DA, they've done dozens of City of Heroes commissions and have threads you can search for or DA journals where they talk about their setup. Or just put up your own and ask any specific questions and I'm sure people with more experience will happily share what they know.

Also there is a sticky thread by Bayani at the top of the forums that has lots of good ideas about what to expect. Not all of it will apply (he is talking about professional full time artists for the most part) but good info none-the-less.

Finally since we are not allowed to advertise and mention exact prices for services on the boards a good idea I could suggest is to write up a brief sheet explaining the what, the when and how much and post an external link to it (here is what I used for example) here so people can read up and decide what they want. Many others just put up a journal on their DA page with similar info and link to that. All I can think of for now. Cheers!

P.S. to quote Sensei Blur... Do eeeeeet!

Thanks very much, it's your picture tho, inspired me to try colouring. As for the ice effect, i basically shone a torch at an ice cube with a piece of blue card behind it (for the sky background) and just tried to see the colours in it. It's amazing the colours you can see in things you presume are just one colour. One thing i did notice is that unlike an opaque object, which would look lighter on the face in the light and darker on the face away from the light, a transparent object is the opposite, the face directly in the light was almost black and the rear face, seen through the cube was really bright with colour... k, i'll stop

edit: wow, i've had a real struggle colouring the 'iceblast' effect, mainly i think, because i can't personally shoot ice out of my hands and shine a torch at it, lol

To everyone whom has been following this thread;

My Grandmother died of lung cancer this past Saturday night at 2:54am, she had been battling cancer for a year and a half and my family had been right there with her helping her in her fight the whole way. With a saddened heart but peaceful mind she left us, no longer suffering and in pain dieing in her sleep is all the mercy anyone could ask for in death and this Christmas just wont be the same without her smile, laughter and enthusiasm.

My family celebrated her life on Tuesday and I've been helping my mother as much as possible with the funeral and Holiday celebrations all week which we have decided to go forward with despite our sorrow knowing that its what my Grandma would have wanted. On top of all of this it has been the busies time of year at my job and one of my co-workers has been out of the office leaving me with triple the workload than normal.

Needless to say this week has been like the 9th circle of hell and I have not had a moments peace to myself let alone to do the sketches I had wanted to do this week. I apologize to any whom where looking forward to this weeks update I had hoped to find some time this week but could not get past a few rudimentary outlines so I hope everyone understands my lack of submission for this week. trust me no one is as disappointed as myself.

I wish all of you a happy and healthy Holiday and a New Year filled with love laughter and joy.

Blessed be,

~Lady C

There's never a good time to lose a loved one, but it's especially hard during the holidays. I wish you and your family good fortune in your tough times.

Lots of love and hope to you in this hard time. I know it may not mean much coming from text on a screen but my heart is with you, I know very well the pain of losing a loved one. Take your time, mourn and recover, and have a safe and happy holiday.

It is never an easy situation but it's clear she had a loving family there for her and that she will always be remembered.
I'm very sorry for your loss but hope you will still have a blissful holiday knowing she is at peace.

Thanks everyone for your words of sympathy, encouragement, understanding and condolences. I'm not a big one for expressing my emotions publicly so I'll say that we had the best Christmas we possibly could considering and your prayers and words are truly appreciated.

I'm still feeling kind of blah, but I'll post up any work I do this week on Friday as per usual. At least its something to keep my mind busy or blank as the case may be.

/hugs

This week has been hellishly busy though not as harsh as than last and I'm amazed I've managed to get the ones I have done. I’m really proud of these pieces. I hope you all enjoy them and Happy New Year!
