Farming archtype
It doesn't matter how much inf/minute you make. Its how much inf/item.
Lets say a farmer runs a map, he gets 20 drops and 5 million inf. This gives you 250k inf/item entering the economy. Now a team runs the same map, they get same 20 drops split 8 ways, and 12.5 million inf split 8 ways. This gives you 625k inf/item entering the economy. The individuals didn't get more inf, but the team put considerably more inf into the economy for every item they put in. You wind up with people that have inf and want items |
Never thought of it that way. Thank you for taking the time to explain it in a way that I(finally) understand.

i know it's not really for farming, but i'd thought that i'd mention that one of my favorite arch types is the lancet arch.

Isn't it nice?
As far as archetypes go my favorites tend to be Scrapper, Brute and Defender. My 50 DM/Elec Brute tears through the Rikti missions in the RWZ pretty quickly, so that's probably my best farmer.

Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Thank you very much for that post Donna_. I will look into a fire/kin/earth controller as well then.
I will remain a soldier until the war is won.

My brute had burn at 28 and FS at 32. Once you have burn at 28, you can start farming the AE demon farm at +1x6 or so and keep upping it as you zip through a few more levels for slots.
In short, my brute was farming around 10 lvls earlier, which makes levelling much faster, and my brute does it far more safely. Both are at 50, but my brute (who IO's himself for +rech etc), is faster, safer, and less micro management involved.
I don't run and grab 3 grps of mobs with my fire/kin, as position and FS and pets etc make it to annoying, and dangerous. With my brute I anger 3 grps, and they just keep feeding themselves into my AoE's as initial targets die. Basically, they still hate you after the agro cap, but "wait their turn" until there is room in your threat list for them.
So tag 3 grps of mobs, then AoE until all three grps have fed themselves into my dmg, go grab 3 more.
As to rage, I use insp, taunt, or run to the next grp whenever its crashed for 10 sec.
Also, yes, if you run the same AE mish repeatedly and complete it, you will see the completion bonus diminish quickly.
Will a /fire brute being able to level up with missions to 50 pretty well? Say paper misions and some story arcs or whatever? In mids it seems extremely squishy. I'm sure it will help with those dam flamethrowing longbows. But other then them I don't see a lot of other fire mobs. Atleast from 1-30 so far on my MM. Crapload of energy and smashing/lethal ones though. Although im not sure how to find out what mobs are weak against what. I have that chres file thingy but its not working with my excel.

Mine was designed and leveled specifically to give me a capped farmer, not to enjoy. I just wanted to email 10 million or so to each new toon I started.
Like so many ATs, once they bloom in the late 20's it just gets better and better. Use the AE in conjunction with the difficulty slider and you can level really fast.
Farming starts at 50.
Anything else is a different question... "what levels fastets" etc.
When someone posts about farming I assume they are at level cap, as they should be.
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.
I understand that but I have to level somehow . I can't just make a lvl 50 farming char. Man I wish. (sorry if it sounds like im being a ********, Im really not. honestly. so don't kill me lol) So he needs to be able to atleast lvl "decently" then at 50 ill turn him into a farmer. So it will be of course 2 different builds.

Plus, some folks might not like the controller style. I kinda assumed from the OP's original comments that he was a melee oriented player.
BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF
Yep, which is why I suggested to go a melee route. Fire/Kin will out farm a tank, but the problem is getting that Fire/Kin to 50. The Tanker will kick in sooner and get there cheaper.

Yea that's true, probably more so solo tho... A Kin no matter the level will speed up any team that you are in so if you really wanted a Fire/Kin at 50 you will be best to team, probably hit 20 go vigilante and do every TF and SF there is at the appropriate level and you will more or less be done.

EDIT: also this thread has made me bite the bullet to make an ss/fire brute again.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

Yes I spend most of my time soloing. Unless anyone from victory villainside wants to invite me to a decently active sg. I hardly see anyone else on that server. Then agains I don't have any chars past 31.
I will remain a soldier until the war is won.
Nope, hadn't heard that, I've heard 20-30 mins... Never ran one though, so hard to compare.
So it is decided that farmers don't impact inflation at all then?
I understand what you are saying Another_Fan. However, it is hard to believe that I create less influence solo than I do on a team, as teaming always, always cuts into my infl/time creation.
