New Praetorian Advice
Taking story arcs won't determine your final Hero/Villain status.
When the time comes to leave Praetoria, then you pick Hero or Villain.
You can run any arc, with any alignment, for your time in Praetoria.
When the final mission is ran you can pick Hero or Villain either way.
That said, if your wanting to go the Hero route I'd suggest the Warden and Responsibility Arc's as they tend to be more 'Heroic' than the others.
I'd avoid the Powers arc unless you like feeling evil.

Good old Praetoria: where the bad guys torture and kill, and so do the good guys.
Something about Praetoria (I'm not sure if it's deliberate) but: do you notice how the "bad guys" tend to be the ones who are the most extreme, on both sides?
Whereas the "good guys" are the one who are moderate. They may have different beliefs but the don't blow up hospitals or abduct citizens over it.
The good guys on each side seem to be more concerned about the people. The bad guys on each side seem to be more concerned about the enemy.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
The good guys on each side seem to be more concerned about not damaging themselves, ethically and morally, than winning. They maintain the social contract.
The bad guys on each side seem to regard "the end justifies the means" as a valid strategy. Overthrow the government at any cost, vs. keep control at any cost.
The Power arcs seem to me as a megalomaniac ego trip.
It's not about the people.
It's not about the system.
Nor is it about Emporer Cole.
It's all about ME!
At least, that's how I see it.

Current project
I'm about to create my first Praetorian character, it will be a Mastermind and I want to make it through as a Hero.
Are there any particular story arcs I should take on the road to Heroism? I just want to make sure that I don't take the wrong path and wind up as a villain. Thanks in advance, Marsha |
