With this issue being handled I wonder what Shamwow will complain about now, other than the respec system, but everybody hates that abortion of a system.

Yup. Ran a few TFs with vigilantes blueside that were originally villains, and that was quite annoying for how long it took them to get anywhere. It obviously takes anyone a little while to travel from Brickstown to KR, but for how long they were doing it... ugh.

So you want a TF no one runs and everyone on the forum complains about? I think the high level Praetorian mobs will make things different in their own right due to their difficulty and greater need for situational awareness.
I do wish they would do a bit more for the AE than add some map types and mobs. They did at least fix that NPC teammate issue that really frustrated a lot of people, but I haven't seen many other adjustments to the system that people do want. They're doing better with it than they have for PvP, at least (I'm still not sure why they made those adjustments to PvP if they weren't going to keep following through on them: I know Castle had more ideas for PvP that were not implemented at all).

Not sure what your impression of Barracuda is, but most people I see posting about it think it's more interesting and fun than the Kahn TF, and I agree. It's a little bit of a pain to have to track down the AVs in the last map (it'd make more sense if they spawned in near you or ran up to you), but I think it's better than fighting them all at once.

The Reichsman fight is more interesting as well: problem has been more with making those powers work right. But I've also met people who think the Kahn TF is the best in the game. I'd say they have more going for them than the original TFs in the game, at least (Reichsman is rather interesting to fight, it's just his mammoth amount of hitpoints coupled with a Tier 9 that make him really silly). I'd rather the new TFs were more on par with Hess, Katie Hannon, LGTF, or ITF, but that's it. Fighting War Walkers in Paragon seems like a pretty good idea that would be hard to fail with, but hey, I'll wait and see.

Been doing a number of TF's with my villains (all my villains have gone rogue). Having to go from Chantry to Atlas? KR to Bricks? Atlas to Crey? Bit annoying. Of course, while no base access is annoying and this train/ferry change will be a big help, let's face it. No o-zone access is the big time killer.

I think the issue with Barracuda is both time vs. reward as well as a need for a mastermind.

Based on this thread (link), I am wondering if the devs are killing two birds with one stone: improving QoL in general & for rog/vig toons; and changing Oro with the incarnate stuff. Based on the screen shots, Oro doesn't look so good any more.

I highly doubt they'll change the actual O-zone; pretty sure those screens are from a mission based on one or both of the new TFs. *shrug*

Just wish O-zone was the same damn place for either side.

They need to change o-zone to start with. Let's face it, people use it just as a transit hub and that's about it.

His reply to someone's comment that inherent fitness means we need more slots is hilarious, too. "Nope." I wouldn't say no to more slots, but expecting even more of a buff than inherent Fitness like some have is hilarious.

Maybe I'm thinking about it wrong, but if we get these as inherent powers at lvl 2 don't we kind of get 4 more slots.

As I read it, like the "extra" slots you get with Prestige Sprints. The Fitness pool would allow us to add slots on top of those. IMO, the change is that we will get both sprint and hurdle. Yes, a number of you all probably take both, but for me, I take one or the other.
It might be an adjustment I guess using sprint and hurdle. Then again, I may not need to toggle NR every so often to get over a high step or something.

That's actually my annoyance with Ouro and a lot of the easy mode travel options (though I admittedly use them): they trivialize actual travel powers and people ignore Ouro's real purpose.

Yeah, but that's directly related to one of my demands. The main reason people don't use o-zone more regularly is the inability to invite people in part way through. It forces people into a task force without much of the reward or interest of doing a task force. Why not... Just do a task force?

Looks like I need to find time to start playing again. Trying to sell a house really sucks. Also, Civ 5 came out.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Victory is a little different than elsewhere since we seem to run it and enjoy it. I often see complaints about Reichsman's hp (valid complaint) and comments that the AT temps force team makeup and thus restrict them when the intention was to try to mix things up and only the MM power is truly required.

Technically, yes. I know Grey Pilgrim is going to pick up an extra slot from being able to slot his Winter's Gift -slow resist IO into Teleport Friend, but then he's going to have the extra base slots in whatever power he picks, too. Probably going to grab stealth or the defense toggle from Leadership to slot a LOTG +recharge into. It'll be nice to be able to pick up more Ancillary powers, too. Melt Armor is only so good with 1-2 slots on it, but it'll layer nicely with Bruising for a bit, at least.

I'm actually going more off of poster on the forums in general, most of whom are not from Victory (though a few are). For design, Barracuda is certainly more interesting than Khan, even if both have Reichs, who is a bit annoying to deal with (I just hate all his HP... I've been on a couple failed attempts, though one of those was a failed Mo run that lost two members).

If I don't have to trek from one side of Steel Canyon or Skyway City so I can get to Talos or something, that's a GOOD thing. I'm still going to be seeing those zones plenty. It's not like you're going to know what side of the zone your mission is on, anyway, so it's still going to happen, anyway.

Rogue Isles is even better. It's a PITA getting to Mercy and PO, and you have to go there a lot, even at higher levels. This change makes me less annoyed about going to those zones in the first place.
No, I despise the ferry/train system change. I think it's rediculous to basically abandon the way the game's been played for 6+ years, not to mention the entire ingame explanation, maps at train stations, etc. The original change so you could access any train on the route? perfectly fine. Makes sense; you don't force all passengers off your train every stop, even if the stop they want is 3 down the line.

However, you DO make folks transfer trains. You don't get on one train/bus and eventually wind up at your destination if you keep riding long enough, usually. Have to change trains/buses/ferries. Being able to get on the train in Galaxy and ending up in Founders is just... stupid, if I'm honest.

Side bit, it's a shame that the devs are going away from the almost 'graduation' you feel at 20ish. In the old days, you got to 20, that opened up Talos and Indy to contacts, new train system, you got stamina, you were finally coming into your own as a hero. Now, stamina at 4 (or 2, whatever), trains from Atlas to Bricks.. bleh. Like an extra minute of traveling ingame ever hurt anyone (random attacks by rikti ships during master runs need not apply).

As for the explores: it's not that I don't like explores, I do. I enjoy the short stories they have, I like most of the titles, I just think... maybe we're being over-saturated with them? With the expanse of city zones to 8 an issue or 2 ago, now access to opposite side explores.. eh.

When I think of explores, I think of landmarks; places that a normal person, playing tourist, would want to go if they were on vacation. Atlas Park, see City Hall or the Globe? Sure, absolutely. I think with the more recent ones they've started to stretch a bit. Some of the newer ones, I can't see as 'tourist destinations'. And by putting them in the hazard zones? Even some of the old ones in there are a stretch. "This is the building that the Freedom Phalanx used to have!" "Are you sure? It looks like every other destroyed building in this part of town."

Trying to keep the house impossibly clean and fixing stuff = bad. Vacating the house for open houses/showings = bad.

Once I started getting free time again, Civilization V hit. Couldn't get into at first (and I had a hard time adjusting to Civ IV, also), but now I'm hooked.

I've never let my subscription lapse...I just need to find some COH time.
