Bonus #1. Bonus #2. Since we're talking rocker chicks, how about a band full of them?
First link: The top comment sums up my feelings quite appropriately.

Second link: I own a Kittie album. Edit: glad to know they're still out there rockin.

Be well, people of CoH.

Needs more Otep

I'd marry that girl.

"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict

I'm looking to order some great albums from Amazon.co.uk, and am looking for suggestions. Currently on the list I have:

Soundgarden - Superunknown
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
Queen Adreena - Taxidermy.
Hmmm.... looking at your list, I'd suggest something like:

Sevendust - Sevendust
Tool - Aenima
Days of the New - Days of the New
Any other albums of Soundgarden and Alice in Chains
Pearl Jam - Any of first 5 albums (maybe the 6th) fit the genre. Most will swear just the first album, but you can decide for yourself.
Stone Temple Pilots - Purple, Core and 4 really hit the heavy mark.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

And the late great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q401R0JtuFw who did it many years before.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba

And Carla Kihlstedt from Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. Also, she played violin for Tom Waits on the album Alice. Rock.

It might be worth your while to check out Amphibious Assault, it's an industrial project a couple of the gals from Kitty worked on with a guitarist I never heard of. Their full length District Six is very good, but their EP Of Better Days and Sin Eating is freakin' fantastic. Great band and really nice people; my last gig was opening for them in NYC, and they were so much cooler to us than any of the area bands we'd played with had ever been.

ahhhh, this takes me back. lots of great examples already.

saw one mention of ministry, here's a second and a sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXCh9OhDiCI&feature=fvw

jourgensen also has one of my favourite covers ever with a side act known as "the revolting *male chickens* ": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6zqYSezqwo

a few mentions of tool and aenima, although i always preferred 'undertow' and this single from it (the video...is a bit ...different...to be sure... lynch's eraserhead would seem to be the closest thing to it) : http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...5671464035082#

a lot of great sound fusion out of that little slice of time.

/happy hunting

Yay for giant space crabs!

They're from round my way and had a massive local following - one of the happiest things I ever did in my last job was phone up winners when we got secret gig tickets....

"Traaaaaaaceeeeeeeeeyy?"
"WHAT?"
"There's some laaaaasss on the phone says you got gig tickets."
"TARL 'IM TER BAWG ORF!"
"It's for the Barkleys or something?"
"THE WHA?"
(Me, quietly:"The Darkness".)
"The DAAARRKNESS."

...dead silence, followed by running footsteps, the sound of the phone being violently ripped out of some poor mother's hand and a scream that made my ears bleed for days.

They also, sadly, suffered from Terminal Second Album syndrome but were a glorious bright moment of comedy rawk in a dull, grunge-filled age. They shall be missed.

Also: thank you to GoliathBirdEater for bringing Arch Enemy to my notice. I like.

Some slightly different stuff:
GIRL IN A COMA:
See if you can spot who they're fans of(and signed them!)

RODRIGO Y GABRIELA
If you're in a mellower mood, check these two out. They met while in a Brazilian death metal band - but found that they really loved playing classical Spanish guitar too. Adventures and hi-jinks ensue, and they get signed - playing stuff that rocks festival crowds more than any three WSB indie bands you can name, armed just with a couple of Roundbacks, their fingers, an amp stack and a little imagination...
