Any mission where the objective surprise changes from "Click the glowie", "Defeat the Boss" or "Rescue the person" to "Hahahaha... I really meant Kill All" deserves to be punched in the neck.

In my early going as a hero, I teamed with a fellow who played well and kept up an interesting dialogue.

About a week later, he sent me a tell, and as it turned out, he had the Vahzilok Wasting Disease and NOBODY WOULD TEAM WITH HIM! This included getting kicked once the leader saw the flies around him. He could not complete the mission to get the cure without help because he was so weak, and there was no autocompletion back then.

That was a sad situation. That is what we DO as heroes. We are supposed to help folks that only we can help.

We completed the mission and he was cured. As I understand it, after a time the overt symptoms of Vahz Disease are no longer visible to other players as a result of experiences like this. I have not run that arc since then, so I could not say.

As for annoying maps, "defeat alls" in big maps with exciting places to hide are high on the list for me. Nowadays, the last goal is supposed to show up on the map, whether a baddie or a glowie, but it often fails to happen for me when it is a glowie. Do Not Want.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Oh theres being a hero and then theres keeping away from the sick people Debt was nasty back then!

Speaking of the cake cave...

I just did the Jewel of Hera quest for the umpteenth time, and I loathe that quest as most of the time, it uses a Cake room. It's bad enough that the map they use is one of the largest in the game. It makes a mission very painful.

You see, my issue with layer rooms it a combination of time and XP. When I get a mission to defeat a boss or grab Statesman's chimichunga from the hungry DE, I know that the mission can be quick. I will find whatever I am looking for, killing mobs as necessary, then go to the next mission. Layer rooms change that. There are signifcantly more mobs to find and kill in those rooms, and heaven forbid something runs. It takes more time, and gives me more xp.

Before someone spouts off on how more XP is good, let me say that not everyone wants to outlevel their missions constantly. As it is, some levels just fly by, and on those odd occasions I group, I easily outlevel content.

Yes, I know we are not meant to see all the content with one charcter, but there is a difference to not seeing all the content and missing important badges or missions that lead to other contacts. A good example is how easy it is to miss the Ourobos badge redside, or how easy it is to out level the Faultline content, or missing a needed badge for the Mayem/Safeguard missions due to out leveling an entire tier.

For the record, I do use the NO XP option from time to time, but I should not have to use it all the time.

Pretty much any hunt mission, especially those in Peregrine Island. (Really? Defeat 45 hard-to-find mobs in a very small zone?)

But "Defeat 40 Rikti in the [Abandoned] Sewers" always gets an auto-complete. Yug.

I don't like "pseudo-defeat all" missions. You know, the ones with so many required objectives (Defeat the boss, Defeat his 12 lackeys, Rescue their 13 Hostages, Trim the hedges of many a small village...) that you end up killing nearly everything on the map anyway just to complete them all. Just simplify things and make it a Defeat All instead of a Defeat 95% Of.

And don't forget to bring a shrubbery from Roger the Shrubber, who designs and arranges shrubberies. And after that, go cut down the largest tree in the forest with a herring.

What I find funny is that most of the specific missions mentioned are Blue side. And people have complained about those forever.

The Cake Room Should be removed from Paper Missions.

The Council/5th Column room is not bad. Easiest way to do it, once you enter, go down and work your way up.

The CoT Portal rooms I love the portals are usually decent xp/inf great for farming. Now the CoT maps with multiple Portals linking to other areas on the map just suck for MM's because the MM goes one place and who knows where the pets go. Sometimes it is best just to /releasepets and resummon.

A defeat all on the multi-layer Arachnos map is the worse, A Ramp up and Ramp down(another down from that one) and 2 elevators to other parts of the room. A mob could get knocked of or jump off and be stuck somewhere between the actual platforms. And you have to fly around to find them.

Yes the kill 20 Council in the Pit is bad mainly because everything in the Pit area is 24+ and you can get that at 20. But luckily there are not many hunt missions red side.

Any defeat all that has Phase and Run or teleporting enemies.

After all these years I still refuse to believe that the maps with the Random Destination Portals are working as intended and continue to /bug it whenever I see them. Especially when my work in AE has shown me that only a handful of the Oranbega maps contain this nonsense while the majority have portals that work properly.
