Blah...I don't like the rumors of the villain that's being introduced the season. I guess they wanted to go big, but he's not ready for this villain imo.

Seeing as it's smallville, he's going to be a plucky blond surfer dude who works at the coffee shop, right?

He's ready. This is the villain that makes him step out of the shadows. It's perfect.

I can see it now...2 hour final episode

Smallville: Apokolips

Wasn't this show cancelled like almost 9 seasons ago?
More power to it for lasting this long because I sure would never have predicted it...

Can never have one Smallville thread without the haters.
They seem to follow this show more than the people who like it.
Classic.

I'm just wondering who they'll get to voice Darkseid. They've already got Michael Ironside as Lois' dad.

Maybe Ron Perlman?

Ron Perlman would be good or Clancy Brown or Michael Dorn.

And I saw where they are getting Teri Hatcher as her mom.

I've watched maybe 3 episodes of this show back in season 1. I gave up on it but at least I can understand its appeal for others. I actually would have liked to have liked it but sadly didn't. The only "following" of this show I do is when a thread like this pops up. Trust me when I say I'm quite sure I couldn't hardly tell you -anything- about it now.

Anyway for what it's worth I'm willing to accept the idea that the show somehow got much, much better at some point to last as long as it has. Go figure.

It definitely has. If you like Superman and DC...it's definitely a good watch...especially the last couple seasons...minus the Doomsday finale.

Then I'll make a deal with you then: as soon as someone invents an "instant brain-download" machine that'll let me experience the sensation of having watched all the seasons of this show without having to waste the time to actually watch it I'll do that.

I like to hate on it, but I've seen every episode, and plan to see every ep of this coming season. I do enjoy a good bit of it, and they occasionally get lucky, but the part I like to hate on is how schizophrenic the writers are. They're all over the place. Constantly making up new story threads, and then completely forgetting about them, or throwing characters suddenly into completely nonsensical situations, or relationships or encounters, and then totally forgetting it happened by the next episode, and I'm not even talking about things like dream/mind control sequences, where you can say "Oh, it was them, but it wasn't them" which they also do often, and are rather schizo on how they deal with after. Once you get past that, or stop expecting them to have any sort of intelligible plot from ep to ep, or season to season, and just shut off your brain, you can usually enjoy the show.

I don't remember who it was, someone I hadn't heard of, but I'm pretty sure they announced the guy who was doing him already.
EDIT: I just tried googling who it was with "Smallville actor news" and wow... Sam Jones/Pete Ross is... um... lotsa big controversies about him... Anyway, couldn't find the press release, I think Chrome linked it originally, so maybe I should be searching the forums, but I think it was before the forum clean.

Season 1 was weird. It had its moments, but on the whole, it was weird. Season 2 and 3 were probably the strongest, with season 4 probably the worst. 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 were all a very low riding rollercoaster of "Oh, I could see how this could get really good" at its high points, and "Whaaaaa? Why am I watching this drivel?" for most the rest of the time. The coaster's foundations sink a little lower if you try and think about any of those seasons or events having any connection to anything else.

All that said, I think season 10 actually looks pretty strong. Season 9 was a total mishmash of random "Whaaa?" moments loosely strung together, but the finale was surprisingly good. In true Smallville fashion I am sure they will unsatisfyingly resolve all of the previous seasons story lines in about 30s of the beginning of the new one, and proceed to pretend they never happened, BUT, they have hinted at some cool stuff coming, so hopefully they will deliver, despite their track record on previous hype.

Many of their best actors they've had are gone (some promised to guess appear this season though). John Glover, Michael Rosenbaum, John Schneider to name a few. Annette O'Toole has been effectively gone for a while, and had a couple appearances at the end of last season, not sure how much she'll be around for the final season. Most their one-shot guest stars are far better actors/actresses than any of the main people on the show, though without SWMNBN, the average quality of the acting jumped up about 250%.

Dont get your hopes up a 2 hour season finally with Dark Seid will be a about 45 seconds of fight time and 1:59:15 of clark discussing the fight ahead of time.

Im so glad this is the last season. Even though its improved its still not as good as it should be able to be. but since i have watched it all this time i cant bail out on it now. Its like the xfiles or something for me.

That type of stuff was done way before CoH and the revanant project came out.

Alright...if they really think that they can keep this fake lex beyond this episode...they are sorely mistaken.

He better get killed by the end of it.

What the **** is that...I thought he wasnt supposed to materialize till later in the season.

That is the big bad. Much like how Doomsday was hinted at all through the season.

They need to go out with a bang. Like at least half the episode being a final fight between a fully suited and flying Clark and that guy. None of this wussing out with two or three hits in super slow mo that lasts a total of 15 seconds.

Fake Lex <<< Real Lex. Really cheap way of bringing Lex back. Also, that kid Lex creeps me right the hell out.

I know Darkseid is the main villain...however, it's been stated that we weren't going to see him right away.

...and yes...fake lex is terrible.

Might not have been him. It might've been someone who got ahold of Fate's helmet. *shrug*

Wow, the CG on that shadow figure were pretty bad. I'm not entirely sure that's Darkseid. It looked like the smoke was come'n from the crystals used to send the Kandorians away. Although, I suppose he could have used it to travel here... but... come on. No Boom Tube?

Also, the dude beating up Oliver didn't seem like he was a bad guy. When he saw he wasn't making progress with him, he would have killed him and moved on.... Not trade him for Chloe. Me thinkst he might be Orion, looking for Darkseid. If I remember correctly, he was always a hardass.

I think he was a dude from the suicide squad.

Rick Flag to be exact.
