Stealth IO change makes no sense

I don't understand the changes to the Stealth IOs. 120 sec was over powered or is this more of the PvP changes that effect the 90% of CoH who don't PvP?

I mean the Teleport IO only works for 4 second? Since the power has a 4 second duration, you only get stealth for 4 seconds during your teleport.

I would like some DEV to let us know WHY...

This is incorrect. The Teleport Stealth IO will work for 120 seconds after you click the teleport power. The only change to the stealth IOs (and all 120 sec IOs) was that when placed in toggles, they stop working after you toggle the power off. There was no change to when they're placed in auto or click powers

Right. I could click on Sprint for 1/4 second and get 2 minutes of stealth. I could enter a mission and have 2 minutes of STACKING stealth. (I guess you can still do that with teleport but... then you'd have to take teleport.) Prestige Sprint + stealth IO was better in nearly every way than the actual Stealth power.

Anyone didn't see this coming?

Exactly what Castle said in Beta.

And both Castle and BAB are on record, that a longstanding bug is never to be considered a feature and its being fixed is never to be thought of as a nerf... a fix is a fix. Period.

Although, on rare occasion, a bug in the player's favor was later judged to be allowed to continue as a feature.

But, if it's considered a bug, time never makes it immune from being fixed. It's just that low priority fixes are low priority and may take a long to be fixed (if they even know why it's broken... bug hunting takes time and resources).

I'm actually quite happy they changed this. I only ever toggled on Sprint when I needed the stealth, and it annoyed me that my character was still stealthed even though I had just turned my "Stealth" off.

I for one say, "Yay."

I got tired of escort missions become an epic marathon of hostage herding.

Haven't you heard? PvPers are an endangered species and are no longer the scapegoats of the game. Ebil marketeers are the popular new objects of your disgust.

So clearly this had to be fixed because ebil marketeers would buy the IO, slot it, toggle it, respec it out, and flip it for huge profits, yet were still able to walk away from the market with 120 seconds of stealth.

That's awesome and I so want to do it now.
