Ah! Well, that changes things. Still though, moar phat lewt then Like good recipes.

Hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been wanting a new AT called "Boss" whose poewersets revolve around "hiring" enemy groups to fight for you. The advantage of this is that you get to change your pets frequently so you don't get bored.

This Lore Slot sounds cool (so far)!

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

I wounder if the Ranged Incarnate Enhancements would affect melee powers. I would totally slot those to sword-fight people from 20 feet away if only for the lulz.

I will boycott if they don't let us put it up to 11.

I think it's very likely that they'll be releasing multiple Incarnate slots in Issue 20, probably 2-3 more, but it's pretty well established that only the Alpha slot will be in i19.

Especially since the 1st slot is called Alpha and the last one is called, of course, Omega.
I'm sure you've already seen this by now, but:

We want to see how the first ten go so when we design the next set we can iterate on it.
As I said in the post just above this one, I believe we might see 2-3 more Incarnate slots in i20, but I agree with you that we're only getting the Alpha slot in i19.

This is not what I recall. It WAS established that Only the alpha slot was going to be in I-18/Going Rogue and that more was coming in I-19.

Then they yanked the alpha from GR.

I see no reason why they would yank the incarnate items that were planned for I-19 to replace them with nothing but the alpha they yanked from I-18.

Even though i19 is supposed to be super-small and be out within the next two months?

And has been worked on for how long before GR went live? Positron has been working on this for a while apparently.

Originally we were to get alpha with 18 as a taste of the incarnate system and then with 19 we get more incarnate stuff and the content with which we're to use the incarnate powers.

Why would they yank out that which was done enough to be ready for I-19 because they wanted to tweak how the alpha was unlocked?

Well, judging from the current scuttlebutt, this is what they have done. IIRC, what was said at Pax Prime this year and a recent article linked from the main page implied as much.

The Incarnate "stuff" in i19 will be the Alpha slot, the arc to unlock the Alpha Slot and the Alpha Strike TFs. Again, I don't remember the exact sources off hand, maybe Golden Girl remembers.

I see. Second post down in the PAX tweets. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=237378

That's... pretty farking pathetic.

I'm going to continue to hope that we're getting more than just the alpha slot. I guess we'll find out if the damn thing ever goes to beta.

Be well, people of CoH.

Ah, yeah, that's exactly the thread I was searching for. I think the way they're doing things currently is a pretty good idea, but I am sorry it disappoints you, Bill.

I feel even MORE ripped off than I had felt. I was pissed that the alpha got yanked from I-18 but I understood why, even if I completely disagreed.

Now we're not even getting what we were going to get in I-19?

It's ******* ********.

I looked over the post again, and he didn't say 3-4 per issue, but that they should have just announced 3-4, but that they would release at least 'a couple per issue' and that they may make more than 10 incarnate slots, depending on how it goes.

The preview with the Alpha that was supposed to come before i19 now is i19.

i19 is now i20.

Presumably, i21 is now the color orange, and the color orange is now the concept of "squishy".

Until Positron "clears things up" again.

The net result is likely everything has been pushed back three to four months, drawing things out longer.

Handy for keeping the attention of people who bought GR for the Incarnate system (and felt ripped off so are now just waiting for their endgame). Those people are less likely to drop their sub until they see what Incarnates/endgame is all about for themselves. If they know that earlier, they may decide they don't like what they see and could drop their subs... just in time to try and maybe get sucked in by another super hero game launching in the near future. Perhaps? /tinfail hat

I for one am not interested at all.

I don't bother with min/max. I barely even dabble with IO sets.

This just sounds like purples to me so I'm not really seeing this as 'Endgame' material. Unless they intend to increase the settings to allow
+8X10 or some such all I see is a bunch of overpowered incarnates with nothing to beat on because it's all grey to them, power wise.

But I'm not going to complain about something I have little interest in. Just stating that I'm Meh about it.

They've specifically stated they're making especially difficult content specifically for Incarnates.

There is no such thing as "Ranged Incarnate Enhancements" and you don't slot them into anything other than Incarnate slots.

Is that not slotting? LOL! Just in comparison to Warkupo's "I would totally slot those...." He didn't say he was slotting them into the powers

(: So, this is coming between October - November ?

I would argue that it's not like slotting enhancements like we've traditionally had and more like gear found in other MMOs. Gear that is crafted, upgradable, able to be equipped and unequipped but is not tradable, does not degrade, has unlimited uses and presumably takes up no space.

The other four slots, as best I can remember, that were revealed at the time, in no specific order:

-Judgement slot: An exteme damage nuke attack. Some were PBAoE, some were targeted, one was a cone I think. The were four flavours at the time; Pyronic Judgement, Ionic, Cryonic and Void that dealt Fire, Energy, Cold and Negative Energy damage. Further still, these could branch out into two possible directions giving the power either more damage or adding a control or debuff component to it.

-Lore slot: Summon enemies from enemy groups to fight for you. In the beta, there were only Praetorian groups listed: Clockwork, Warworks, Seers, etc. The most potent upgrade of any of these shown at the time allowed you to summon 1 Boss and 1 LT at a time from the group you chose.

-Interface slot: Added an additional component to your existing attacks; Fire DoT, -Res debuffs, -Regen debuffs, -ToHit, etc.

-? slot: A team buff AoE. IIRC, examples were along the lines of (+Dam +ToHit), (+Regen +Rec), (+Res +Per) and a self+team rez.
  • Alpha
  • Judgement
  • Interface
  • Lore
  • Destiny
  • Hybrid
  • Genesis
  • Mind
  • Vitae
  • Omega

It is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

This piques my interest a little. Now activating 'Wait and See' mode.

Is that proper order too? Why would they associate the AoE team buff with Destiny? I seem to recall asking myself then too, so likely that is the right order.

So anyways, there's the other four. It's anyone's guess what they do because they were empty when last they were seen.

The question is, will you craft Peter Gabriel or Phil Collins?
