i17 Burn modifications
Yeah it can miss and yeah it does less potential damage but with the fear gone it's way better now. If you are gonna say that an attack that can miss is pretty lame, then I guess most attacks are pretty lame. Burn does a truckload of damage and is awesome.
My biggest problem with Burn is trying to figure out where to retrofit it into my namesake Fire/SS/Pyre tank.
Burn is pretty awesome, my SS/Fire/Pyre Brute kills faster than ever now.

Slot it like a normal attack. New Burn is amazing.
The only downsides I found are
A) It will only hit 5 targets
-and-
B) It damage my blaster when he uses it
A is working as intended, B is a bug they haven't fixed yet (that I'm aware of at least)

little note of useless trivia:
the Ignite power for assault rifle, which is basically a ranged burn patch...still has the 50.00 mag fear.

I kinda hope it is working as intended. I mean im not sure it would buff its dmg at all. Being used at range I'm pretty sure it would aggro said target to try and run up and punch us in the face. Which would agian still require us to immoble the target and that is fine. However it would remove/hinder our abillity for area denial. Anyone whos played a AR/Dev or AR/Trap knows how powerfull this can be, givin a doorway or small enough pinch point we can effectivly STOP and army from advancing. I have literaly held off up to 5 ambushes simultaniously and slowly cooked them all alive with a double Caltrop patch on the floor and Ignite spamming away.
900 damage was accurate, but because of the fear, rarely ever did something stay in it to take all 900. (Immobs aside)
500 is accurate, and the enemies don't run. I think that's a better option.

I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.
So, I read all about the modifications that Burn went through with the launch of i17, an for all intents and purposes it should be greatly improved, but I feel that it hasn't performed that way. Perhaps I'm expecting too much from the power?
First: On Mids, pre-i17 it showed that burn, fully slotted with it's purple set plus the boosts it got from build up and fiery embrace (my set is Katana/Fire), was doing about 900 damage. Post i17, with those same previsions, it is showing burn doing about 570 damage. What's up with that.
Second: It was changed so that the majority of the damage was initial hit damage, but I feel like the power doesn't always hit initially, and with the the DoT a fraction of what it used to be, in that case, missing makes it a pretty lame attack and a waste of end.
Has anyone had a similar experience?
