Nightstar and Siege are the AVs that don't count towards dimensional warder right now.

Edit* Well Nightstar in her oneshot mission counts, but I had to go back and do the old Maria Jenkins arc to get siege.

Good to see this repeated a few times for certainty, that narrows things down for me. Thanks.

Also, I can't be the only one wondering why the old Tina was of a warm and dark complexion and the new Tina is pale and sickly, can I?

Well, the arc is pretty nice so far, despite the constantly-disappearing Elite Resistance being annoying.

But does the Statesman HAVE to keep repeating "I'll follow your lead!" Seriously, it's like someone was afraid we were going to feel overshadowed if he didn't say the same thing over and over again. "Hey, you're the boss here. I'm just tagging along. This isn't my investigation. No sirriee! You call the shots. I'll just follow you. You lead the way. Your orders, sir? Just so you know, I'm not the star of this arc. You are. You get it? You get it yet? Oh, OK, just wanted to make sure that you knew. That I'm not the star, that is. You are. You're the hero. Understand yet?"

YES! I UNDERSTAND! Seriously, I'll be the first guy to get cheesed off when it feels like the NPCs steal our spotlight by being level 54 Archvillains and having the story be about them, but did we really have to turn the Statesman into such a goof to avoid it? He literally says "I'll follow your lead" at the start of each mission. Yes, I realise it's nice that I am the hero, but could we not have done this in some way that didn't break the fourth wall? Because every time he says this, I picture a mission designer reading the forums.

Incidentally, why does Nightstar have wrist blades if she never uses them?

*edit*
Oh, and by the way, I spent probably 50% of my time with the Statesman looking like this:

He got stuck once in the Boomtown map, I Team-Ported him out. He got stuck again and I left him. He got stuck in the caves up next once. I Team-Ported him out. He then got stuck again, and my Assemble the Team temp has not yet recharged. From the looks of it, it won't recharge for another 15-20 minutes. From the looks of it, I'll be fighting Battle Maiden alone. Feh!

This.

Ran both old arcs and the last two finally counted, although in a weird way. It wasn't Nightstar and Seige, or Bobcat and Battle maiden (which were the two that weren't counting for me)... it was Diabolique and Infernal that counted (even though I've done them both more than once).

Either way, doing the two old arcs through Ouroboros fixed it for me.

Statesman's Pal does indeed award in the final mission of the new arc, after you beat the Olympian Guard.

I'm working my way through it, but it would be a very nice addition to be able to tell Statesman "Hey, don't worry about it. My Team and I have got this covered." Instead of having him charge into every mob and lead off with a handclap that scatters everything to the wind just before Fulcrum Shift goes off.

We eventually decided that whoever Statesman was following had to hang back.

I was going to be pretty dissapointed if I had dinged 50 while babysitting Paragon's greatest hero.

I gotta' say, after getting through the arc... It's actually pretty amazing. Far better than what I expected and FAR better than what we had before. I like the fights, I really like the story, I dislike but appreciate the self-depreciating humour and I enjoyed seeing some higher-level Praetorians.

I discovered that what REALLY drags this arc down is its writing, and I don't even mean that in an artistic sense. The briefings are full of typos and suspect grammar and a lot of it comes off more as exposition than actual natural speech. The arc is great, but it REALLY needs to pass through an editor, because I gave up tracking down obvious text errors pretty much from the get-go.

You have typos in contact dialogue, you have errors in NPC descriptions (a lot seem to have chunks of text missing), you have suspect dialogue, you have errant triggers (Sister Psyche never spawned for me)... It's just all over the place. Someone needs to comb through the whole thing and weed out at lest the obvious mistakes. Like Maria's bio. Fix this, please. It's embarrassing.

I'm going to have to agree with you here. My sg mates and I have this idea that the current devs make all incarnations of Statesman that are currently in the game act like a complete idiot, just to reflect their current thoughts on the man. I think it would be fitting and much welcomed in my eyes that in order to give the Incarnate System to us normal folk, Statesman had to sacrifice himself in some way. That way, Positron can step up as leader of the Freedom Phalanx like he really has, and we no longer will have to see Statesman flying around our maps acting like a four year old.

Yeah.... I had an alignment mission today where I was supposed to "diffuse the bombs". Ouch. Just bug it when you find something like that and they'll get fixed eventually.

They will? Maria's bio has been bugged for over six years now, and when they went to update it... They didn't fix it. It's still the same bio with one obviously extra sentence appended.

By the way, on the subject of the Statesman aggroing the world - I say let him. The guy looks like he's tough enough to handle the aggro.

I also want to note that I like how the signature NPCs are treated. If we can just dispense with the stupid "You lead the way! This is YOUR adventure!" breaking of the fourth wall, the arc does a very good job of making me feel like I'm playing in the top leagues now. All of a sudden, my mission is so important that I'm teaming up with the real big guys, and I end up having to rescue them by the end, to boot. Very well designed, save for that obvious forum whine reference.

Oh, and by the way, the final mission just rocks. The "out" they used to avoid putting Tyrant into the game, yet still have A tyrant in there and reusing the costume and powers (and glass jaw) was just brilliant. Same place, same scenario, same bad guy, only he's an "Olympian Guard" who's one of Tyrant's elite and cloned from his DNA. Brilliant!

---

Before I forget, can we try and not say that the Statesman was "kidnapped" like he was "kidnapped" before? It's starting to sound like Spoony's "Yuna kidnapped" counter and it makes him come off like a damsel in distress. Can we please say that he was either "captured" or "taken prisoner?"

I agree fully. Now I just can't wait until the Praetoria goes up to level 50 and we can start invading Tyrant's tower, going into Mother Mayhem's new asylum, and seeings what's in that creepy jungle!

Speaking of Mother Mayhem's new asylum, she really needs a new one. With Praetoria's reimagining as a high-tech, presentable world, her old decrepit clinic with armature sticking out the walls and pools of blood on the ground really doesn't fit. Back in the old days when the Praetorians were hideous monsters from a horrible, violent world who lived in caves and temples and old buildings and were basically Arachnos in all but name... Back then it made sense that this insane psychic would be torturing people in an abandoned building. These days, though, she's much more likely to be performing experiments in a sterile high-tech laboratory, rather than on the tile floor of an office building lobby.

*edit*
Let me get this straight: The new Maria Jenkins ARC got a makeover, but the old Maria Jenkins MISSIONS remained precisely the same as they used to be, save for a briefing touch-up and a few model swaps? Because I just fought Marauder's old thugs (who use Troll costumes without the green skin, no less), and this doesn't jive with what's in Praetoria. Praetor White's pack is Powers Division, i.e. supers of some kind, not thugs with guns. Even if they were just thugs with guns, Praetorian thugs don't use MP5s. If White had soldiers at his disposal instead of thugs, they'd be PPD, or at least TEST Rangers.

If the old missions and factions didn't get much of a facelift... Well, it doesn't lower my opinion of the missions, it just lowers my standards, which actually IMPROVES my opinion of them. It means that, somewhere in the future, Marauder can get a more fitting faction, Mother Mayhem can get a more decent hospital, Dominatrix's minions can ditch the gimp suits and muffled voices coming out of zipped-up mouths (seriously) and so forth. The potential is there for these missions to be worked on more in the future and to be done as well as the arc has been done, so hey - more power to that.

Agree 100% in everything.

You know, it occurs to me that Marauder still yells "Serve Tyrant or die!" and "For Tyrant!" like he's chanting "For Lord Nemesis!" This pretty much cements my opinion that nothing has been done to out-of-arc missions given by Maria. Well, let's hope they get update with I19, then.

*edit*
Hell! One class of his soldiers are even called Destroyers!

Without spoiling too much praetor white DOES have connections to praetorian thugs, though they still don't look like non green trolls or use mp5's.

There is an updated version of that Marauder mission also available, with a mix of new Praetorian types. In Beta, Maria handed my converted Night Widow both versions. Many of the others have indeed been changed. The standalone mission where you fight Siege is no longer on that ridiculous tower, but in a small instanced map of Nova Praetoria, and the Diabolique standalone mission has been moved from the Kings Row instance with the graveyard to an instance of the Magesterium.

Im at the same point. 12/14 Done both new and old Tina, and new Maria.
I guess you have to wait, lvl to 50 and then run old Maria arc, a Hero's hero in flashback system.

Maria's still handing both versions of the Marauder mission out on live. At least she was a couple weeks ago when I was running her arc.

Update on my experiences with acquiring the Dimensional Warder badge:

I have just received the Dimensional Warder badge and Portal Jockey accolade (haven't even exited the mission yet). The two AVs I had left were indeed Nightstar and Siege, and they were counted upon defeat in a mission where the objective was "Defeat Siege and his minions" in the Maria Jenkin's Arc "A Hero's Hero" as a Pillar of Fire and Ice mission (Ouroboros flashback).

I had fully believed that I had completed this arc before (as indicated in my earlier postings), but, perhaps I was mistaken---thrown off by the star next to the arc when I reviewed it in the Pillar list. It is entirely possible that I just got confused somehow (playing too many late nights---it becomes a blur).

Regardless, I remain grateful to those that shared their experiences and to those that responded specifically. Thank you!

Be Well,

I'm stuck here right now. I cannot find Stateman, I cannot find Black Swan and I certainly cannot find any clues in the 64 miles of map to cover. The person who came up with this mission should be committed. I sent a petition but its been a while.

Can anybody tell me where I might find the mission objectives? Please?

The "fog" only hides terrain, but does not hide the sky or visual effects. If you can jump or fly high enough, or just climb a high enough rock, you'll spot a version of the Chantry in the distance. Just head towards that and look for geysers to take you there. Black Swan is inside.

Alternatively, just follow the contour of the grassy area. You might need to climb a few rock ledges, but eventually you'll see the Chantry as a matter of course.

And you can't miss it. The skybox (rather, sphere) isn't affected by fog, so even if the chantry is, you'll still see a giant grey spiky ball floating against the orange sky.
