I hate the APPs!

They're making it so hard for me to decide what powers to take, because I want them all!

Why is the recharge too much for Energy Transfer? It is single target and comes up as fast (according to Mids') as the Brute and Tanker versions.

Now, if the damage values are correct, its a bit much. The unmodified damage in Mids' is 266.3 for Dominators, vs 190.2 for Brutes and 202.9 for Tankers. If those numbers are true, that is a bit much. It is better than any single target punch Dominators get otherwise in their main powers (as far as I can tell) and better than most Blaster punches. So I could totally see dropping the damage to 190 or 200 base or whatever.

Or do you guys know in your hearts they will nerf it, so you are trying to plant the subtle seeds of a recharge nerf instead of a damage nerf, so that you can still get your one-shot-SCHWHOO-BAM?

your paying for extra damage with health.

With lower max health, and lower levels of defensive mitigation (lets not talk about mitigation from control here) I see it as fair it does a higher degree of damage.

Try using that Fury bar on Mids and setting it to 70%, which is about average for Brutes these days.

A maxed out ET for Brutes is about 650 while it's around 550 for Doms. Also, Doms pay about twice the endurance cost for it. If anything, it needs to be made slightly better for Doms. It's bad enough right now that my Brute easily out damages my Doms APPs with their APPs due to Fury (do a similar comparison to Ice Storm and be amazed at the 200 damage difference per target for an AOE). It makes me lol that we're over here crowing about how the great the APP introductions were when every other AT got APPs as well and far more survivable ATs do better with those APPs and the Dom APPs are the ones being nerfed.

I respeced my old Mind/Energy into Force Mastery to check it out. I also had an old "Snap Tooth" mission from DJ Zero so I figured WTH. Energy Transfer helped me wittle down Snappies HP to nearly half before he killed me. Now my caveat is, the build I was using sucks and had little to no set bonuses.

However, I later moved on to help a team take on the "Ghost of the Scrapyard", and that went much better. ET worked out really well. The aoe heals made using ET pretty safe though..(I believe we had a kin, dark, and pain with us).

So IMHO solo using ET was not so safe, however on a team, it was almost perfectly safe to use. Not only that it was effective.


My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

If I remember correctly, thanks to the changes, 70% fury is actually top-end for solo brutes these days.

At the same time, ET doesn't need to be made better because it's not meant to be one attack that outdamages brutes. Dom version is a good solid attack that lets you reshape your melee chain around it. It's not supposed to replace an assault set. And it actually has a risk associated with it.

When they get around to fixing its set bug problem, I'll be happier.

(Unless it IS an AOE, in which case, what the christ...)

only real difference would be Earth's Embrace and Rock Armor...

Hurl Boulder does more base damage on Controllers, but for half the range, more end cost and higher recharge than Dominators
Fissure for Dominators has a higher end cost, 2/3's the radius, lower recharge and does more damage than the Controller version.
Seismic Smash for Dominators has a lower recharge and lower mag, but does more damage than the Controller version.

Naturally Containment does wonders, but Earth Assault for Dominators is damn good.

So Hurl DPS is about equal between the two.
For Fissure if you factor in the total targets hit, you will see that the Controller version hits 16 while the Dom version will only hit 10 and thus the Controller version has the potential for more total damage. Add in the increased coverage, it is almost certain the Controller version will be dealing more damage due to actually hitting more targets over time.
And yes, Seismic Smash does do better DPS for Doms despite having a lower mag.

So in a comparison of Epic Pools to an actual Secondary, we find the Epic Pool powers clearly better than the Secondary powers in 2 of the 3 cases. So by this logic Doms should probably have a better version of Sleet than the one in the Controller Secondary.

I was looking through the list. Why is Defender's epic hold like Dominate only recharges in 16s while Corruptor's hold from patron has 32s recharge? Actually, come to think about it, I think Blaster's electricity hold only has 16s.

Are they going to balanced every hold power or leave it like that? mmmm...weird.


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

that is kinda funny...Blaster and Defender APPs have 16 second holds, while Tanker, Scrapper APPs and Villain PPPs have 32 second holds.

Well, I can understand if everyone's "epic" hold has the same recharge but what I don't understand is Corr can choose a hold with 16s or one with 32s. The one with 16s actually activates much faster too. T_T

But the one with 32s recharge has an awesome Patron Pet!!!! Yeah baby.
