Issues after GR

Well atm we are getting 2 issues at once, 1 if your purchase GR and 1 if you don't purchase, will this be the same for all future issues? or will it be the case that if you don't purchase GR there is not gonna be much in future issues for you?

To me it seems they have created at lot of extra hardwork defining what some should have and some not, even down to coding lvl in implementing.

Even when CoV launched, there was still content going to "Haves" and "Have Nots" every issue. I'd worry not, but the $$ for GR is well worth it, having played in the beta. Don't be left out, P-Town (Praetoria) is awesome sauce.

Well done.
I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.

Remember, essentially we are still only playing TWO games plus one expansion but get access to all 3 for the same monthly cost

the things you will likely get in future issues are new powers and costume in the issues (probably not the ones that come with GR) as well as game wide changes such as the trial of pain mission or new mission types upgrades to auction houses reward systems. The things that you probably won't get arearea spesific changes such as if a new Task force type mission in Preatoria or if they have missions on the Hero or villain side that require a trip to preatoria, but I think its wortyh the $29.99 to be able to experience every thing and you know this is the first expansion in 5 years and the last one CoV was technically not an expansion but a whole stand alone game on its own so CoH has done a much better job on the expansion thing then other games like WoW that make you pay for new content every 2 years.

Like RedSwitchblade implied I don't see any reason why whether you have Going Rogue or not won't work pretty much the same way things went when CoV was introduced.

There was a period of about a year or so after CoV when the game code cared whether you were a CoH only player, a CoV only player or if you had access to both. We had 2 or 3 Issues come and go with that "split" game situation. Then eventually the game merged together so that everyone had access to both CoH and CoV.

It's fairly safe to assume that within like 12-18 months the game will merge back again and everyone will have access to the Going Rogue content for free.

I thought they officially merged the IPs of CoH and CoV awhile back so they're legally considered the same game.

For the most part, as others have mentioned, you'll see some content that is available to those who haven't purchased GR. But for the near future, the majority of content will be accessed if you have GR.

The first, and long ranged, item is the Incarnate System. The full system will be introduced in I19. To use that system, you will need Going Rogue.

The other thing is that the newest CoX retail box (at least in the US) is going to have GR as part of the purchase. So, for the most part, any new players coming in to CoX are not going to worry about if they can access new Issue content or not.

Now, beyond I19, we really have no clue what is going to happen. But If you are concerned, you'll probably want to break down and spend the money to get Going Rogue.

Thank you for the time...

Actually if you want to get really picky about it there never were technically two "separate" games when CoV started.
It was all an account management trick.

The Issue 6 patch also included everything related to CoV whether you paid for it or not. There was never two separate clients downloaded on you computer. The code for both was always combined into one package as far as your computer was concerned.

The only way CoH and CoV was ever considered two different things was in the way you paid for it. You either only paid for CoH access, only paid for CoV access or you paid for both via which "game(s)" you bought. That's why it was relatively simple for the Devs to eventually "merge" CoH and CoV together. They didn't have to do a single thing game code wise. All they had to do was merge our accounts together to give everyone access to both sides.

The same thing will happen with Going Rogue. The Issue 18 download will include all the code related to Going Rogue. The only thing that buying Going Rogue will do is enable you to access it. Eventually they will "merge" Going Rogue into the general game by simply doing away with the check to see if you paid for it separately.

For the Incarnate content, morality missions and any additions to Praetoria, you'll need to have purchased Going Rogue to access them.

But other than that, I'm expecting plenty of other content for those who don't buy GR. There will probably be new regular missions added to the CoH and CoV sides of the game. They're still working on the "Coming Storm" story and that will most likely be open to everyone. They could update Cimerora or other existing zones. They could open up a new zone for everyone to access (maybe we'll go into the future for that one instead of the past).

So don't worry. If you don't buy GR, there will still be plenty to do in the future Issues.

Hmmm... Bringing up Issue 19 and the need to have purchased GR does make me pause and wonder if this means that Incarnate will technically be like Issue 1 for City of Heroes and Issue Seven (Destiny Manifest) for Villains in that this will be something that might add a new zone to praetoria, higher levels of content, etc. etc.

According to a recent interview with War Witch, new Cimeroran content is linked to the Coming Storm.

From the tiny bits of info we've been given so far, the new zone events that are the Incarnate content will take place in Praetoria.

So the coming storm is linked to cimerora damn, was kinda hoping was rularuu thing, what with CoP being re-intoduced would have been nice to tie it in with the Coming Storm.

Its obviously going to be something which we dont expect and more than likely have our current enemy groups ingame as the "pawns" of this storm

Personally i highly doubt that nictus [is it nicti plural?] or rularuu are more than just a distraction of the real purpose of the coming storm.

Rularuu seems to be an expert on dimensions - his minions could be in Cimerora

Or it could be linked to Incarnates and the Well of the Furies too.

I just want to add, time travel into the future in CoH, considering Positron and Team's history, would be MEGA FREAKING AWESOME.
