GR, Bases, and you

This quote has been attributed to Positron in Zombie Man's "What you need to know" guide:

Quote:
Supergroups: If you switch sides, you are currently put “on hold” with your old SG. You don’t lose any of the stats associated with your character (Prestige earned, join date, and the like), but you will not be able to join an additional one. SG’s are not going to be made cross-faction. If you have business you need to deal with your current SG before you switch, get it done before hand. This needs to be made crystal clear in game, and we are working to do just that.
To further clarify:

For completeness' sake, Praetorians can get to the Base Portal in Pocket D... but, they are prevented from joining a SG/VG and they can't enter anyone's base, even if their team leader has permissions to let teammates into their base.

Hero bases only accept Heroes and Vigilantes. Villains, Rogues, and Praetorians can not enter in any situation.

Villain bases only accept Villains and Rogues. Heroes, Vigilantes, and Praetorians can not enter in any situation.

Consider these things carefully before deciding to switch your alignments completely. If you take your Hero to full Villain (or vise versa), you have two options:
  • remain a member of your former SG/VG as a "member in limbo". You won't have access to the base or any of your stored stuff.
  • cut ties with your former SG/VG in order to join a new group on "the other side". This will give you access to a base, but unless you grab all your stored items, they will be left in your former base (which you will not have access to).
Praetorians get no base privileges until they "graduate" to Primal Earth at lvl 20. At that point they may join a group of the faction that they have decided upon.

This change was also made recently:
Quote:
Supergroups
  • Members of a Supergroup who are of the opposing alignment will no longer be granted Leadership if no members of the Supergroup are of the correct alignment.

So clarify this further...if a Hero goes fully Villian, or Villian fully Hero..and they stay a member of their old SG/VG do they still earn prestige? From what I gather, everything is put on hold, including the ability to earn prestige for the SG/VG. But make it unequivically clear for fogheads like meh.

I believe this is correct.
I do have someone testing this for me.

No, because they cannot be in sgmode.

I think its very important personally to highlight over and over that tourists (vigilantes/rogues) CAN NOT enter the bases of the opposing side, for any reason.

Its my one peeve so far in this entire issue, and it annoys me especially given I have a group with a pre-existing coalition between a hero group and a villain group and they can enter each others bases.

But I can't replicate this anymore. I don't even seen a valid reason why this happens, and it was an on going discussion in beta without real input from the devs on why its force to be that way.

But as someone who uses their bases for more then just functional reasons I really dislike that I'm barred from allowing a rogue into my hero side base and from allowing a vigilante into my villain side base.

I'd even be okay with not being able to coalition. But if I'm teamed with a vigilante on my villain I want to be able to say they can come enter my base to either use the porters or just hang out.

Because saying anything about the issue would require the Devs to say something ... ANYTHING ... about Bases. Much easier to say nothing at all ...

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

Any idea, how would all this apply to one-person SGs?

Exactly the same as far as I know. If you switch sides completely, you lose access to your base, regardless of whether its only yours or you share it with a large SG/VG.

From experience:
Your base/group will no vanish, but you can't access the base while you are on the opposite side of the alignment circle. In other words if your hero group only has you and you turn villain, you lose access to the base until you become a hero again.
