Hello from a new Marketter
I anticipate the release of GR and the market merge to deliver the greatest buying spree in the history of the game.
I've been running MA, rolling bronze, crafting the good stuff and sticking it my base storage in preparation for this blessed event for a couple of weeks now.
We know there's going to be a new melee AT, so demand for 'good' melee IO sets will be astronomical. That's a good place to look for profit.
But basically, anything you do will earn you money.
Making inf after a new issue release is like shooting fish in a barrel, and this is unlike any release since CoV. It's going to be a market tsunami.

My City Was Gone
Well in anticipation of the merger which will start with a clean history slate and the cancellation of bids and listings next Tuesday here is what I am doing:
1. Getting out of the markets by next Monday. Sure it might be a smooth transition but since the listings/bids will be cancelled why risk it?
2. Diversifying. I am rolling tickets on some characters and saving them for rolling next week on others. I am rolling merits on some characters and saving them for rolling next week on others.
3. Planning. I have an extensive list of what I will be selling and what I will be buying next week as well as what I will be playing.
It will be glorious.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

the Goat is stuffed with tickets right now- he filled up base storage and I'm not listing anything until the merger.
I'll just cap his tickets and then see what's hot after the Big Day.
+D

My City Was Gone
Ok. So I am taking a slightly different approach. I too have stashed a few enhancements that I figure were bought low enough to make a great big profit. But not that many.
Being a flipper I have more or less cancelled most of my bids already and am ignoring the market till next Tuesday. Really don't want to get stuck with slow moving pieces until I know what the new price points are.
I have 7 items that I know the current 'value' of intimately, and how they seem to flow around price wise. I have decided upon the lowball bids I will place when Rogue hits and will relist at new yummy prices 3 days later when the weekend feeding frenzy begins.
Collect new riches without doing much work. Thats how I like it.
If I happen to guess wrong and my bids purchase nothing I really haven't lost anything. Except for my oh so expected new wealth.
If I guess wrong and my relist prices are too high that is ok too. I really only work in the items I would have no problem slotting anyways. Everyone has their favorites.
So thats what I am going to do. I guess it isn't much help to someone just starting out in the Ebil business but you will find your own way of doing things.

Enjoy your day please.
I cant think of anything that you wont be able to turn a profit on. Common IOs, melee sets, control sets, salvage. If a person doesnt make money the first week or so after GR goes live, they didnt try. I wish you the best of luck!

I wonder if purples will sell for more or less? Considering that more people will have access to them, if there are more on blue than red. Or if they will go down, considering there will be more on the market....
Should i sell them all now, or wait? lol. Dunno...

GR will also initially bring more new demand for nearly everything. From my research with salvage prices during double XP weekends, I would expect supply to lag demand for a few days or longer.

I'm thinking demand for low level items will spike as well. That's banking on a lot of people wanting to try out Praetorian's and keeping the character, and on Paragon getting the surge of new players they are banking on.
The big three will crash. Don't invest there.

I dono 'bout a lot of people >.> but I already have all my IOs except for a Kin Combat trio, and 4 purples for my Kin/EA brute. So anything I get now, is fair game to sell.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
On blue side, Pet Damage sets are going to be the biggest profit I can think of off the top of my head. They're readily available, relatively cheap because only really controllers need them, but once the MM's start demanding them at prices they're used to on red side, i fully expect the prices to skyrocket. I could very much be wrong, but I know I'll be buying and crafting quite a few over the next couple days and storing them away until GR hits, and hoping I turn a significant profit.
Suggesting that the price will lower? Or the demand on them will be so large that the prices will inflate?

Focused (obsessed?) individuals can take each of 5 alts down the "morality mission" path, 3 times each and get 5 LotGs in a little over a week. Why pay 750M-1.25B for all 5 LotGs? (used today's prices)
Now, if LotG prices really plummet and if you have ample INF then you may choose to spend your 2 AMs (on each toon) on Kinetic Combat triples instead. They are and have been going for close to LotG prices.
Repeat Offenders
Hello Market people. I've been playing this game very casually for about a year, and now that I've got some more time I plan on playing a little more frequently. I've seen some great success stories of people making way more infamy then I've ever had in less then a month, and now I want to give it a try myself. I've got about 4 million on Freedom. What should I be looking for on the market to get myself started? Should I wait a week for the market merge? I'm a level 36 Brute right now and hopefully I'll get myself to 50 before too much longer so I'm going to need some infamy to buy all those pretty high end enhancements. What should I do?
