Post your iTunes Genius Mix Display

So, iTunes can sort through the music in your computer, figure out what goes together and what doesn't. It then presents this as a series of Mixes that you will, theoretically like.

Would you kindly post a screencap of your Genius Mixes? I think this will be a rather fun way to gain insight into one another and share interests. Enjoy!

Man, iTunes really goes for the most mainstream thing on your hard drive in these things. I guess it's because 99% of the industrial bands I listen to Apple has never heard of:

Current Badge Hunter: Plot Device (Rad/Thermal/Dark) - 1,268 Xbox Live: Friggin Taser

King of Electricity, Lead Inmate running the Carl and Sons asylum, the "Man" behind the Establishment, Given Honor in Hat Form By Paragon City (Favorite Forum Poster 2006!), Master of Ceremonies of the Fair Use Law podcast

*Sigh*

People posting that they won't post has got to be one of the worst sins of forum use. It's right up there with subject lines that are just an emotional response ("OMGAWSH! LOOK AT THIS!" "No way..." "Click here to see what I saw")...

I explained my reluctance to engage iTunes that way by cleverly altering your quote.

=(

Plus, Steve Jobs is a vile gnome and I resent that the ipod is so massively superior that I was forced to give him my business again.

Hm. Would you mind explaining, either here or in PM, why letting Apple know what music you like is a bad thing? Like, I know the resistance to the government knowing what books you like, but Apple to music? Please fill me in.

Never give a supplier enough information to know what you're willing to pay more than current price for.

No great mystery, I just generally dislike giving corporations free consumer research, especially corporations with whom I have a long, acrimonious history (I began my computing career on an Apple II). I don't trust Apple with any more data than I'm forced to share by virtue of owning an iPod.

Sorry for the minor derail, I am enjoying browsing the sets of the less obstinate forumites.

I would do this. It's just that I hate Itunes so much.
Plus the experiences of my friend cause an intense dislike of anything relating the word genius to apple.

And yes I have an apple product. So it's not a baseless hatred.

That's really it. In the "Store" section of the iTunes, you can click on "Update Genius". It'll weave together from all the music on your iTunes. I think that it reads descriptions and stuff, so if you attained things in a way that leaves them with weird names (Pirated soundtracks, for example), it may disregard them.

But yeah, it's a fairly straightforward process once it gets updated. It will leave out a lot of music. If you're collection's small, it won't make many mixes. Mine started at 4. Took my buying at least one CD every other paycheck to get up to 12 (which is the max).

Is it called "Rebelling Too Hard Mix"? 'Cuz I think sorting Ska and Metal under that title would have summarized half off my drama club in high school.

I would, but my iTunes tore decided to stop working for me, so I can't update my genius. Or my Itunes. Or buy any music on it. Or have it automatically know what CD I just placed in my computer. Or really anything useful at all. >

PS- Does anyone have any advice to fix this? Might as well ask it here. >_>

PS AGAIN- Nice musical tastes there, Friggin Taser. I approve.

Have you tried uninstalling it via the iTunes uninstaller and redownloading it from itunes.com?
