Finally got around to it.

Well, I've had more on my toon in the past. But always seemed to forget the darn screenie. Then I'd dole it out again before thinking about it.

So here it is.

Started yesterday night with about 200 million.

Then realized I had 563 merits saved up...how sloppy of me!

2 LOTG 7.5
2 Basilisk Quads
2 BOTZ -KB
2 Miracle + Recovery
An Oblit Quad
A Mako Quad
A Devastation Quad
2 Sciroccos

And a bunch of procs (and probably a few other things I'm mis-remembering at the moment).

Everything isn't sold yet. But I just passed 1 billion tonight. Should hit about 1.8 after everything sells.

On top of all that, I still have a controller with 900+ merits to clean out sometime.

Pardon my innocence/ignorance....how exactly do you get 900+ merits on a character that apparently is NOT your main?

hmm... maybe he likes task forces a lot?
I blow all my merits on random rolls when my characters get to around level 35 and they typically have between 300 and 400 merits at that point. I noticed a few days ago that I forgot to do that on one toon. He's level 41 and has about 600. If I didn't blow them on random rolls, I'd have quite a few toons with over 1,000. I continue to play toons after they hit 50. Also, I have a blaster with XP turned off at level 37. He has about 1900.

So a 'non-main' toon could easily have 900.

Well, Schwarzschild started out as a project to see how long it'd take to go 1-50 solo (Grav/Kin) on standard difficulty. Sometime in the mid-40's it got painful... At that point I stopped trying to solo and started TF-ing and raiding. He's got about 4 hami raids under his belt, a couple respec trials, and a bunch of TFs. Still, just under half of the merits are from arc completion.

You just have to play TFs a lot, and not be especially compelled to spend all the merits you get.

I used to play TFs a lot and spend all the merits. But as the characters I was TFing on got really, really wealthy, there stopped being as good a reason to spend the merits. I still TF because I enjoy doing so, but don't spend all the merits, at least not right away.

I still spend some, just out of a sense of duty for the market supply, but I usually store up 500-1000 on each 50, and then start rolling again. I've got that kind of merit store on about 9 50s. Think of it as savings for a rather extreme form of "buy it nao" for things merits can buy.

I guess I just don't play enough... The most merits I have on any one character is about 350, and that is my main badger that I play the most. I know that if he hadn't been 50 already before merits came out, I wouild have had a lot more from the TFs and arcs I did along the way.

So I logged in 10 minutes ago and found this ready to go. First time for me to reach a billion.

I had a big bid waiting for a few weeks, and bought/relisted it last night. Sold this morning for a 250 mil profit. It looks cool to see that big a profit on it, but might just take too long to be worthwhile.

I play a little every night.

Hyper doesn't get LOTS of merits most of the time. He's my "main" but I normally pull him out of Hami raids and events.

My two Fire/Rad controllers (that I'm doing Fire/Rad superteams with) are out and TF'ing pretty much every Monday night.

Well, Merits accumulate fairly quickly in this game. I know my Mind/Cold is sitting on 540 or so at the moment and nothing to spend them on, literally. I need PvP IOs, high-end Hamis and Purples for her, so eventually the Merits will be cashed in for random rolls but right now I'm just letting them sit.

This is my biggest problem with Merits; once I kit out a hero or villain, the Merits just sit there. There just isn't an incentive for me to roll for more stuff (bases are beyond full) or list on the Market in general (stuff moves excessively slowly redside) so...they just accumulate.

My badger was my first 50. He hit 50 long before merits came along. He has close to 4,000 merits, having already spent well over 2,000. If you play a lot, you can't help but end up swimming in merits.

You just rare rolled for all of these? The 20 merit one? I have hundreds of merits sitting on various toons and I'm wondering the best way to spend them. Was going to save up for the individual recipes I need but I'm thinking that may not be the best approach.

TFs are all I like going at the moment. I've never had a single...oh, wait, I was on a totally ***** ITF, but that was back on Liberty server...but anyway, pugs are bugging me. Bad leaders.

I don't how many merits my main toons have. Around 200 or so, because once I hit 280 I'm always staring longingly at the LotG 7.5

Yup. Would roll a few at 10-14, then switch and do 30-34. Rinse and repeat until you're out of merits.

For just straight inf-generation, doing random rolls in large lots is probably your safest bet. Doing one every time you have a multiple of 20 merits might work too, but the lag time between rolls may make your haul seem "crappier" if you may get a couple bad rolls in a row.

Just trying to get the guts up to get rid of those 900 merits on my controller now.
