Rikti Drones, and a couple other critter types, ignore your Stealth value, going on their perception and range to you only. The only way to stealth past them is to hit them with a -perception power, like Smoke Bomb.

I take a luck inspiration, then run up as quickly as possible and get off the assassin's strike against the drone. They usually miss their first blast but I rarely do. 
Then I fire off my build-up and slaughter everyone that was with them. Serves 'em right for being able to see me! Who knows, I might have just gone on by and let them live... stranger things have happened.

Surveillance shows them having normal perception for their rank and I've read that stalkers can't sneak up on them (I don't have a stalker to test with myself). But Aggelakis claims they don't ignore stealth, just have extra perception.
For my own testing, I started up Indigo's arc which has KoA in the first mission. I then capped my blaster's pve stealth (200') with empowerment buff, Cloaking device, and multiple zonings with stealth IO. They had no problem seeing me once I hit the 45' mark and not before that point.

As others have said, they ignore stealth, but won't react until normal detection range.
The easiest way I've found to deal with one - either to AS it, or someone next to it, is to
placate the drone first. Then you can get a standard AS off on the target you like and scrap
it out with whoever's left...
You can also use the Placate on the drone to stealth by the entire group, but, make sure you
lose LoS before the placate wears off or it will come after you.
