War Axe worth it or should I switch to War Mace?
From what I recall, Battle Axe was superior until a year or so ago (not 100% on when the change happened), but then War Mace got some buffs that essentially made it surpass Axe.
I say grab a free slot on your server, make a Mace/WP, and take it to 14. If you find you liked it better, you can delete the Axe/, and continue with the Mace. Otherwise, delete the Mace/, and continue with the Axe.

Just one caveat; if you're going to do the "play until 14" method, keep in mind that although Mace uses mostly stuns as damage mitigation in the early attacks, the last two attacks are high-probability KD attacks.
Here's how I would compare the sets:
First four attacks for both all ST, Axe attacks have KD or KU, Mace attacks, 3 with stuns, one with KU. Mace has the highest damaging ST attack of the two. (Clobber)
One full PBAoE attack in each set, Axe's does KD, Mace's does stun. Mace's attack does slightly more damage than Axe's.
Two final attacks in both sets are cones that do KD; one narrow cone, one wide cone. Both of Axe's attacks do more damage per foe, but Mace's narrow code is wider, and its wide cone can hit more foes. (10 vs 5 for Axe)
The general consensus is that Mace has better AoE because of the differences in the last two attacks. However, some players prefer KD as damage mitigation or hate the "stun wander"; which gives Axe the edge for them.

That helps a lot. I'm definitely thinking Mace but I kind of like the look of Axe for this character. I took a quick screenshot of the character and posted it below.
If I do go with Mace, is there a big intimidating Mace that can be unlocked out there that would match the silliness of this character?
There is a big intimidating mace available from the get go. Think Large Warhammer. Also the Rularoo mace looks pretty nice looking imo.

I've got a lvl 14 War Axe/Willpower character. I'm looking at the stats for War Axe next to War Mace and starting to feel like retconning the character into a War Mace user would be a good idea. Is there an advantage to War Axe I'm missing?

It's lowby attacks have 40 - 50 percent chance for knockdown, mace's stuns are 10-20 percent at best.
Axe is more defensive, early, Mace is...annoying. But it's cone is reallly big.
Stick with Axe. It will never steer you wrong.

I'm with Kheld on this one, try BOTH to lvl 20, see em with Quick Recovery, when you can REALLY enjoy em. THEN you'll know whats not to like.

I started to cry, but I was too busy. I have scheduled a time to get upset over it for the summer between my youngest son's high school graduation and when he starts to college. I think I will have nothing better to do for about 5 minutes at that point.
I think you should roll a War Mace alt and keep both. Make this one a Praetorian double or something, haha. Or a Crey clone! Or, or... (etc etc)

Kidding aside, thanks for showing off another niftily backstoried toon of yours. (I toyed with Atilla the Honkey for a bit, but, yeah, not as funny as yours.) Of all the weapon sets I've played--though I haven't played Battle Axe--War Mace was the most satisfying. Make sure to figure out another nifty character concept so you can experience the delightful crunch of Shatter and Crowd Control.
