In City of Heroes, there are many sound effects that have a little chirp that's very close to the Tell sound, often in player powers. You generally don't hear them within the cacophony of other sounds, but when you're by yourself and thinking "Boy, I wish one of my friends were online!" it's not unimaginable that you'd catch a few false positives here and there. It's a case of being oversensitive to certain sounds.
Then again, that's also the reason why I can hear my phone ringing through two closed doors and a hallway.

True story - I was watching the behind the scenes to a movie the other day, and they kept referring to the Director of Photography as the DP. I had no idea why they kept referencing Dual Pistols.
Also, count me in with the group that thinks of BS as broadsword or, depending on context, Black Scorpion.

* For Mother's Day you pre-ordered her Going Rogue... and she doesn't play the game... and she doesn't own a computer.
You got me. My altitis IS that bad. I can go a day without at least 3 ideas for a new character. No comment as from where.
And... for Mothers Day I bought my mom a new computer and computer chair. For Christmas I got her the game. She's 63 and plays now. After 5 months she's learning to navigate to missions and contacts, how to find the right teleporter in the base, and how to use inspirations. (I still train her up and manage all her enhancements and inventories).
