Is CoH teasing me with glowing costume pieces, again?

I was watching the "Preview to Going Rogue" video, and noticed some very nice looking glowing gloves on a character (at 2:35 into the time line). Now, last time some images were posted with glowing gloves on a character we were told that it wasn't player available. So is this just another example of something will never get to have, or has Paragon Studios decided to give us glowie costume pieces?

Don't tease me, CoH! I'm too fragile for another broken heart!!

I'm pretty sure no one knows that answer to that, or at least no one that's at liberty to talk about it.

I just watched the video and all I saw was what looked like the visual effect of a power that was activated. The gloves weren't glowing when the scene started. They started glowing after the fight began. It looked like a defense power of some sort in response to the hero attacking.


Power Customization isn't just for players. The devs can use it when they make new opponents.

Look at the screenshots on the going rogue site for the praetorian police department.

they have some pretty cool glowing bits on their gloves. Forcefields hovering over the fist, iron-man-like palm blasts, etc.

No idea if they will be player available, but NPC are definitely getting glowing gloves.

we have costume peices that generate effects already, glowing peices might be connected to the same technology.

I was pretty certain that I saw a post from Jay saying that the glowing bits on the gloves and breastplates that you see in the teaser vids aren't available to players....but now I can't find it, so I could be wrong.

I remember him saying that about the screenshot of a Resistance member, way back when. Haven't seen a comment relating to this vid though.

Energy-like attack

Definitely a glowing aura around the gloves

glow surrounding body armor

So these exist. Glowing hands in going rogue. Whether or not players get them or it's just NPCs who knows. But these exist.

We already have glows according to powers/stances. Case in point: Jetboots. Their aura activates when the character is in flight mode. Combat auras activate when in 'fight' mode. They seem to have combined these approaches for the Praetorian cop gloves. And the hexagonal thing in Gavin's full body screenshot link? I'm willing to bet that's a full-body combat aura.
