-Darien's 'home'-
Zhacol looked up from his book.
"Oh, welcome back Darien, i trust your hunt went ... well?" Zhacol looked over Darien, who was carrying nothing with him. A head had been specified in the bounty, Zhacol only hoped that Darien had already taken care of the head.
Darien looked at Zhacol with dark glee "It was .. thrilling. It did not last long, but i enjoyed every. Last. Moment." Zhacol noted Darien's expression with a hint of concern.
"I .. see. And i trust you have proof of his demise? For the bounty?" Darien waved a hand dismissivley. "I will tell them that i have slain one whose name was on the list. But this isn't about the Court anymore Zhacol, oh no .. it is much more than that .."
Zhacol shifted uneasily in his seat, he hadn't known Darien to be like this "Oh? Is that so?" Darien nodded, pacing around the room, opening and closing his fists, thinking. Eventually, Darien spoke "It has been .. too long since i slayed a hero. Or at least, one that would have proven a challenge in a stand-up fight. Everything about his death was .. right. The fear, Zhacol. You could almost ..." Darien paused, thinking of the correct word, then found it and finished, with a grin ".. taste it, Zhacol. No reward could replace that."
Zhacol had an understanding of what Darien was saying by now "So .. this is personal? For your own enjoyment?" Darien nodded in acknowledgement, Zhacol nodded slowly "Hm, then i guess you best work on this list Darien ... there will be plenty more .."
Darien nodded, but was still thinking "Why would i need a list, Zhacol? Can i not simply slay of my own accord?" Zhacol shrugged
"That is completely up to you Darien. As long as you have fun. In any case, i'm going to retire to my quaters. If you need to use the crystal ball ... please, leave it till i'm finished." With that Zhacol made his way up the stairs to his small room.
Darien stood in the living room, thinking still. He looked at the list on the table near him. He didn't see names. Only soon-to-be corpses ...
I was doing some playthroughs of City of Heroes. Now they will serve as memories of a better time ...
Misty saw the incoming fireball and moved her head just enough for the fire ball to pass pushing against the Demons sword with her shield. She scowled at the Demon and brought her sword back and aimed for the Demons heart and lunged towards the her target.
I have had my eyes opened... and without the people I love I would of never of gained my wings...
Tezkarial took the hit, Alexia's sword punching through his chest. He grunted and brought his flame sword back from her shield, bringing it around to strike at Alexia's own chest, the heat radiating from his body becoming near intolerable, for a normal human anyway.
Misty rips her blade from the Demons chest, the heat not affecting her at all. She puts her shield ready to block the sword once again and prepares to defend herself. Misty smirks to herself after landing a critical blow on the Demon knowing in her mind it can't be much longer now.
I have had my eyes opened... and without the people I love I would of never of gained my wings...
As the last of the whites of his eye disappeared, time seemed to stop for the shinobi. The X shaped lightning bolt stood in place, his opponent not far behind. The dark aura around his hand solidified into a samurai gauntlet of wicked design, matching in colour the aura that once surrounded him. The sword too changed becoming black and jagged. This new dark armour slowly crept up his arm making its way to his shoulder, however just as it reach his collar bone a new battle erupted in the young man's mind.
Deep within his subconscious a dark dungeon appeared. In its walls laid an ancient looking X shaped torture device, the metal chains shimmered as they caught the light off the torches that lit the walls. On this table lied Tenro, his hands and legs bound to the boards. Opening his eyes slowly, the light hurt them as if he'd not see any for sometime, he looked around the room, stopping at the mysterious figure in the corner responsible for this predicament. Sticking to the shadows and barely out of sight, the figure began to tempt the ninja. " I could kill him for you... I could destroy them all if you'd let me.. just give me some control! It would only be for a little while, then you could have your body back, good as new! Promise!" he said innocently enough. The shinobi only replied a simple no. Agitated he argued, "What's there to lose! I only offer you the power to defeat all obstacles in our path! Why must you constantly resist what is rightfully yours for the taking!?!? Hmm? Because of what some silly old man said to you? Some delusion that you can control me or make it on your own without me?!" The man's presence grew within the room, his form becoming more warped and twisted looking. "If you'd just listen to me then we wouldn't have .. this problem .. would we?" he said pointed to the shackled shinobi. "My power could be free for you to use whenever you want, all I ask is that you simplly satisfy my one little tiny, insignificant desire, and we could avoid all of these complications! You think I like doing this to you? You think I like forcing my will apon you? It breaks my heart to see you like this..." As he spoke a dagger formed out of the shadow and pierced Tenro in the stomach, twisting as it sunk in. The shinobi wailed in pain, coughing up blood in the process. "I don't want to have to hurt you, but I've got my needs. My hunger must be satisfied!" Another shadow dagger pierced Tenro in the shoulder. "Your .. price .. is too.. high..." Tenro responded, trying not to pass out from pain as a third dagger stabbed at him. "So stubborn, so stupid.." he said with a sigh, " have you not even figured out who I am yet?" Tenro didn't respond, only smiled. He looked the man in the eyes and said, "No... but I did some checking around, I learnt your name.. and more importantly ... how to.. suppress you..."
Back in the real world Tenro's hand slowly reached for for the white handled katana on his back. In his mind the man laughed back at him "You only know A name.. not mine.. and that thing won't be able to protect you forever.. neither will Bathory!" With that Tenro grabbed the brilliant white blade, a shock wave pulsing from his body as the dark armour disintegrated off of him. This new sword was vastly different from the last, traditional built and silver white, it almost seemed to glow. Closing his eye and reopening them, they were now clear of the blood red substance. Time slowly came back up to speed. Using the shorter sword, he impossibly cut through the first attack as if the lightning itself was solid. Passing by him on either side the shinobi raised the larger katana above him and in one stroke, his sword cut through his opponent, cleaving him in half from his shoulder to his waist, as the blade effortlessly cut through him...
((permission from Thunderrar to land the attack))
Paragon City Outskirts, East Coastline
A tall figure stood on the hill, wind tugging at his hair and jacket. This time it was white, pure as snow, the same as the smart trousers he wore. A blood red tie was a shock of colour against his neck, as he leaned on a long cane clasped with both hands on front of him as he stared out to sea. His eyes narrowed slightly behind ruby lensed glasses as he sighed.
"This is going too far."
Leon DeFuerard turned, casting an eye over the war-walled city behind him. Paragon. What a curious, intruiging place...and what a danger. With the Rogue Isles in such close proximity, it was no wonder the place was such a hotspot for the wierd, wonderful and downright deadly.
Even so, the events that were steadily building to fever pitch were, to his mind, beginning to get out of hand.
While it was true that Leon was on no particular side, his key believe was that life, at its heart, needed a balance, something that, while inherent, could be upset. And the events unfolding seemed to lead to only one conclusion, and that was an upset of the balance. Either the gathering legions of darkness would crush the hunters, and then spill over into a greater conflict... or the Hunters and thier allies would not only push back the tide but also begin a steady extermination of as many undead, demons and otherwise as they could.
Neither outcome was acceptable, not to Leon. If the Court and their masters won, he would either be dragged into it or, more likely labelled a 'traitor', an irony that gave him a brief smile. If the Nighthunters and their allies won, he would most likely be on the hit-list for termination, especially given his split from MAGI. While they had been more annoyance than anything else, they had at least given him one trump card to use from time to time, he had to admit.
How vexing.
Stetching his arms out to either side, Leon stood for a moment, eyes closed, listening to the wind.
His eyes snapped open, eyes pure red except for slit black pupils, glowing even in the later afternoon light. The air around him seemed to still for a moment, as if his very prescence caused it pause.
"Come to me."
The words had a power of their own, enough even to make the air ripple for a moment. This was not magic. This was something stronger.
Blood.

London, England
The Dorchester Hotel
A young lady sat up in bed. It was totally dark in the room, but she could still see perfectly. She glanced down at the figure beside him; good looking, young, strong...he was nice, and a better conversationalist than a lot of good looking young men she had encountered over the past...however long it had been. She lost track of time sometimes...
A pair of eyes flashed across her vision for the briefest of moments, leaving her with only the rock hard certainty it had been there.
"Un-holy ****!"
She slid out of bed, moving silently to the window and peering through the curtains, the moonlight gleaming momentarily off her flawless body and giving a slight shine to her raven hair. After a moment, and with a sigh, she turned back, regarding the young man in the bed.
Tonight and the morning were still hers. And, this time, she would at least give him her number. There might be some hope for this one.
After that, though...
There was family matters to attend to.

Somewhere under the Franco-Swiss Border
The Hadron Particle Collider
There was always one person who worked late. He barely seemed to sleep. Most people put it down to a serious coffee addiction. At least it didn't have a bad effect on him. If anything, he seemed more normal the more he drank. It was when he went without coffee that he got incredibly edgy.
The young man leaned back in his chair, staring at the screen with a calculating look on his face, pausing only to brush a strand of long, dark-brown hair out of his eyes, or rather off the lenses of the dark reflective glasses he wore. He wasn't overly tall, but he was incredibly well built for a scientist. He kept himself in good shape, informing his colleagues that regular trips to the gymn were important to maintain the higher functions as much as the body. He also used it was time to catch up on reading.
"Hmn....carry the six-" he muttured under his breath.
Eyes, blood red with slit black pupils and a fiery glow burned themselves onto the inside of his eyeballs.
There was a loud crash as the chair shot back, depositing it's previous occupier in a heap. This was followed by a string of curses in English, French, German, Italian, more in English, Russian, an unknown language that made the air snarl and warp for a moment, and even Latin.
A hand latched onto the edge of the desk, dragging the young man up behind it. His eyes, pupils ruby red in the stark lab lights, glared at nothing for a moment.
"Damnit, father," he muttered quietly. "You sure pick the moment to get back in touch..."
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Storm felt the blade, it passed through him and in that instance he felt hollow, removed somehow, his arms went limp as his attack became useless but he still fell, though rolling harshly past his opponent, skidding along the floor until he came to a stop. Lying motionless on the floor.
After a second Storm convulsed, writhing in pain he clutched his chest, he had felt the blade pass through him and yet...somehow...it didnt really cut him.
Storm tried to manage the pain while he thought about it, he had lost limbs before but because of his own unique pysiology he was able to reattach his limbs or even grow new ones, but this was something else, he felt the pain that the blade had brought him yet remained whole, a weapon of torture if there ever was one.
Storm pushed himself up slightly, resting on his hands and knees. breathing a little heavily from the attack though he didnt actually need to breath, he never did drop the habit and even found it comforting such as in this particular instance.
He could see the Shinobi out of the corner of his right eye, he quickly remembered how he had changed, he wasnt the heartless monster anymore, ramapaging through the streets, attacking friend of foe even, he seemed more calm and collected, more human.
Storm pushed himself up now, standing tall he looked to his left for a moment, watching Alexia plunge her sword into the demon he thought about why he was in such a rush to defeat the attacking 'monster'.
He spoke aloud to himself.
"To protect her....but...she doesnt need it, because i dont trust her enough?"
Storm looked at the man again to his right, his sword still in his hand. He knew this wasnt the same person he had fought just seconds ago, the eyes alone could tell him that, this wasnt just a battle of might now, he needed skill, strategy even.
Storm looked at his own hands, the gold and black that covered his body seemed to fade as he was left in his Nighthunters uniform once again. Extending his right hand towards the Shinobi the raised his left hand above his head, golden electricity surging around his body.
"I trust my daughter to finish the demon off, just like she trusts me to finish you off"
Storm surveyed the rubble that was once a building around him, it wasnt his enemy that caused this, he did.
"You want a fight...im ready"

"I trust my daughter to finish the demon off, just like she trusts me to finish you off"
Storm surveyed the rubble that was once a building around him, it wasnt his enemy that caused this, he did. "You want a fight...im ready" |
Sighing deeply, he looked around his hiding spot. ' Electric man, demon dude fighting some girl, broken cars, building, dead longbow and circle everywhere....great! It would take me into the middle of a battle field...' Moving from his location he circle around his opponent, still invisible to only those with the highest of senses mystical or otherwise. Using his agility and stealth to his advantage he tried to sneak right behind his opponent, contemplating whether he should strike this man down or simply flee. ' He must be on the list... surely he would be why else would I be here? But what if he isn't... this could be my chance to escape!' Hesitating he readied himself to strike the two blades point towards his spine for a disabling strike. 'Hit him now, if his on the list good for me, if his not, easier for me to escape if he's not chasing me...' Hoping he was unnoticed, he prepared to deliver his Assassin's Strike.
Storm lowered his arms, placing them by his side as the Shinobi threw the orbs at the ground creating all sorts of diversions, closing his eyes he stopped breathing, whether they were just normal smoke pellets, tear gas or some sort of sleep gas, he didnt want any of it getting into his system.
He started to work on a strategy, his opponent was obviously working on his stealth now, if he decided to run, he would go and help his daughter with the demon, if he stayed...no mercy.
Silently, without moving an inch, he created an invisible lightning field in the surrounding area, the most anyone would feel is a slight tingling sensation in the air, unless they could sense energy that is.
The lightning field acted as a radar, nothing could move through it without shifting through the energy, and with that Storm would be able to sense exactly where the Shinobi was.
He felt him walk around him, behind him somewhere, he almost felt sad that he hadnt decided to run.
Storm wasnt holding back who, or rather what he was anymore, the fight had reawakened the warrior within him, he was going to win this one.
His entire body suddenly turned to lightning as it shot into the sky, for a split second it dissappeared before shooting back down to the ground, forming once more to place him behind the seemingly hidden Shinobi, the ground sizzling around his feet where the lightning bolt had landed.
Storm lunged forward, Jabbing where he thought the Shinobi should be, he extended his forefinger ahead of his fist, a golden aura surrounding his finger, if it were to hit its intended target it would paralyse the part of the body it touched.
A technique a good friend of his had taught him, magnified by his electricity so it could be effective even against a meta human.
http://union.virtueverse.net/wiki/The_Thunderar - My main, under construction
Tenro's danger sense told him of the shift in his opponents aura all to late. While he knew he was compromise, he did not have the chance to avoid the attack complete at such close range, twisting his body as the jab struck his left bicep, however using this motion he thrust his Masemune sword into the man's leg. The pain for the electric jab was excruciating, forcing him out of hiding. The arm dropped, numb and useless from the assault, the short sword falling to the ground. Jumping back, he perform a numerous amount of pressure point strikes on himself in quick succession followed by small hand sign, and with that the arm began to move again. He now stood in front of his opponent, katana pointing at his face. 'Nice trick.. bet in only works in close proximity... can't believe he forced me to use that technique so soon it's gonna take some time to regain energy.. won't be using that again.' Focusing now on his opponent, he waited for him to make a move.
Electricity began to surge around Storm body, he stood still with new determination, parts of his body began to slowly and quietly burst into electricity and then form back into his human self.
His skin showed tiny cracks and golden tendrils of electricity began to seep from his skin, he remained unharmed from the attack, his body now half human while the rest was a mass of golden energy, His eyes began burning brightly once more.
Storm began walking slowly towards the man, with every step he took the ground seemed to sizzle as his feet touched the ground.
"Who are you?"
Storm fired a bolt of electricity at the Shinobi
"Why did you come here?"
Storm fired another bolt of electricity at him.
"Why cause so much destruction? for fun? just because you can?"
Storm fired two bolts of electricity from both hands now at the Shinobi.
"Right now i hope to hell you give yourself in because at this particular moment in time..."
Storm stopped walking, standing still he held both hands together as a golden orb seemed to glow around his hands.
"I AM NOT IN THE MOOD!!"
Storm hit the ground with both hands, the ground seemed to crack down the middle travelling all the way up to the Shinobi, as it did golden electricity fired from the crack, erupting like a volcano it fired upwards all the way from his hands towards the Shinobi.

The cult's demon attack on Steel Canyon may have just been successfully averted but the real villains remain hidden. Any ideas on those names?"
|
"Storm!" yelled Pious, arriving at the fight scene to find Misty battling a chaos demon and Adam unleashing his power onto an unknown swordsman. Just then the military task force that had helped Longbow reclaim the streets of Steel Canyon arrived at the scene. "Storm, what's going on?"
Tezkarial saw Pious arrive, and decided now was not the time for a fight. looking at the swordswoman infront of him, he breathed fire at her as he flapped his firery wings, pulling away from her with a grunt. "i will have vengence for my brothers Nighthunters! you will pay for your crimes, both against man and the circle!". And with that, Tezkarial's firery form solidafied and fell to the ground, smashing apart on the ground.
++++
Blade pondered over the names Pious had said, even as he followed Pious to Storm's location. he hovered above as the demon seemed to die in mid air and crash to the floor, then saw what Storm was fighting. Below him, Johnathan, Maria and Micheal came running down the street. Takin cover and aim, Micheal and Johnathan readied their weaponry, pointing at the unknown swordsman, Maria taking up an aggrassive poise, ready to attack if needed.
Misty ducked behind her shield as the blast of fire hit and pushed her back. Her leg armor and her wings got hit and were badly singed by the demon fire. When the blast had stopped she started to fall a little towards the ground in pain. She recovered enough to stablise herself and hovered towards the ground before landing and falling to her knees. She looked around for the demon and only saw bits of something scattered around. She smiled to herself happy with the victory. "Not Bad Alex." She thought to herself
Suddenly in the back of her mind she felt her father was still in trouble. She slowly pushed herself up and looked around for Storm. She was still in pain but while her father was in danger she could ignore it. She gripped her sword tight started to run towards Storm as fast as she could. "Hold on Dad... I am coming" She yelled
I have had my eyes opened... and without the people I love I would of never of gained my wings...
Suraya stood up... slowly. She had been trying to catch her breath after the outburst of power she had to do to close the main portal. But her army of Desert Heat had kept the random surviving ghosts and demons at bay.
She walked to wards Storm's location hoping Blade was ok too.

The golden lightning flew at the shinobi, impacting him, bringing him to his knees in pain. So he would have his opponent believe. As the third and finally attack him, the image of the ninja began to slowly fade away. In truth Tenro was actually at the side of the hero, using his "flicker" techique to placate, hide and move into position. Pointing both swords at Storm as he charged up, he cockly asked, "Hey pal... what you looking at?" Just as he said that he noticed the presence of the other heroes arriving. 'Great, just what I need! This could get ugly.. ' he thought to himself.
Panicking he flipped backwards, releasing into the air several small orbs, mixing them once again with with the special dust he used before. Flipping once again high into the air with great speed, he littered the floor around Storm with caltrops and into the air threw more orbs although large than the rest in size. Hitting the ground, the first set exploded into large pillars of white smoke, as Tenro used these to slipped away. Always thinking ahead encase the heroes decided to follow , the large orbs finally dropped revealing that they were in fact highly explosive grenades, impacting all around Storm. Now one with the shadows, and nearly completely hidden Tenro ran in the direction of the injured winged swordwoman, releasing poison coated daggers as he flipped over her head at point blank range, continuing his escape. Hoping his perusers would tend tot he injured instead of following him, he quickly darted away, running at at very near superhuman speeds.
Pious watched the theatrical smoke-works and fire-play of the ninja as he fled the scene. Pious knew Adam could easily absorb the impacts of grenades.
"You all did well helping to reclaim Gimry Ridge today" Pious began, addressing the four Nighthunter judicators Blade, Misty, Storm and Suraya, as well as the military heroes he recognise as the newly formed global demon-hunting army regiment, the Priest Corps, made up mostly of his twin brothers. "However" he continued, "I fear this is only the start of a string of possible attacks on the Worn Cover. I wouldn't be too surprised if MAGI decides to have the whole building relocated somewhere less populated. I'd say property damage today alone has crossed the two-million mark. That's unfortunately going to be on us. So what do you say we rejoin Freedom Corps and start cleaning up this mess? We can look into the Circle of Thorns and whoever else is behind this at a later time."
12th August 2010 - Somewhere off the east shore of Japan
A ghostly figure began to ooze and materialise off the ever-changing surface of the water.
Jemma appeared, and looked around; finding no sign of anything, just water. As she floated slightly above the water, her hands both began to glow, one with a bright white orb, and the other, with a negative-black orb. She quickly formed the outlines of the large circular portal, by almost painting it, using the trails of the orbs.
After a few moments the trails connected with each other, one black, and one white, as a portal began to open, and grow.
Jemma poked her head through the portal for a moment, noticing Tower simply floating around in a dark-motionless dimension.
“Tower, one clue. Your near Japan.” As Jemma said this, a torrent of energies pushed Tower from the portal.
As Tower was pushed from the portal, it instantly closed over, and disappeared. The portal itself wasn’t far above the water, but with the Towers solid build and materials, he caused a large splash as he fell into the water. As Tower fell into the water, Jemma screamed, hoping he would hear her.
“Give them hell!”
With that said, Jemma took a moment to think about what she would do next. Surely the Countess would find out sooner of later. Her betrayal would come at a price, but she was ready to finally join her family.
As she watched the Towers dark figure slowly disappear as he dropped further and further into the clear ocean, she spoke to herself, or perhaps her abnormally shadow, which of course many would know as ‘Storm’.
Jemma closed her eyes, using her telepathy to communicate with the Countess.
”How does it feel to lose something? Hmm… Bathory, my revenge has just begun…”
Jemma began to fly towards the sky, somewhere along the way dissapearing.
Storm heard his opponent next to him, his fists implanted in the road, in the few seconds it took to pull them out again he saw the Shinobi flying through the air, caltrops landing on the floor around him while smoke filled the air, Storm crouched down as small explosions erupted all around him.
Storm quickly stood up again, yelling in anger, as he did a small whirlwind of lightning travelled around him from his feet to his head, his body returning to normal as it did.
He heard Pious mention the amount of property damage that had been caused, a lot of it would have been by him, somewhere around 2 million.
"Ill cover it...dont worry.....ill cover it all"
Storm looked around at the devastation he had caused, not the Circle of Thorns, not the demon, not even his opponent, it was all on him.
He instantly regretted every move he had made in the fight, immediately becoming aggresive towards the unknown opponent, attacking relentlessly without any thought to his surroundings. He knew that the authorities would have tried to evacuate the area and anyone who had seen the fight would have surely ran but...he couldnt have been sure, what if there were still people inside the building?
He had lost his cool so easily, with that there could have only been two ways the fight could have ended, with the Shinobi fleeing as he did when his friends showed up, or with Storms death.
Storm realised his mistakes today and vowed to do better, he needed to begin his training anew, he had as much power as he would need but all he had been doing so far was throwing it around without controlling it properly, he needed to start focusing.
His thoughts wandered a little to the battle the Nighthunters had when they went to free the prisoners in castle Bathory, the one he wasnt there for, he remembered how someone had mentioned one of the enemy had brought in helicopters to attack.
After a few moments of thought Storm smiled under his mask, he knew what could bring him some focus and, with a little luck, help if ever such a thing were to happen to the city again.

Tower replayed Jemma's statements about how the Countess would eventually turn on anyone or any thing she uses in her quests. Tower's command system responded, "Invalid syntax error!"
As the unit touched the bottom of the ocean it continued to replay Jemma's statements. Processing Jemma's final statement of "Give them hell!", which was an attempt to convince Tower to turn on The Court the unit's command system responded.....
"Unable to accept command!......Previous user is not a system administrator!.........Previous user listed in database as enemy!"
Tower got to it's feet as it began to scan the surround area. At the depth the unit was at, all that visible was darkness. Tower replayed Jemma's statement of being near Japan and then logged into the closest GPS system the unit could detect.
"Location confirmed......downloading topographical data......co-ordinates set for nearest Rogue Isle's surface."
It was ironic that Tower found itself in this position as it was dumped into the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean after it's defeat at the hands of The Prince Bishop two years earlier. ON that occasion however Tower was a broken machine and had only just managed to find it's way to the Rogue Isle's. This time Tower was fully operational and would have no trouble making it back to familiar territory. Given the pressure placed on the unit though at the depth it was at, Tower would not be able to move that quickly and it would take the units weeks to reach land.
Jemma's attempt to make Tower turn on its system administrator and her fellow court members had failed. Elizabeth was Tower's system administrator and would only ever respond to commands from her. It would take more than a plea from Jemma to reprogram Impervium Tower. Someone with a greater understanding of machine programming than anyone at The Court. Someone at the same level as Tower's deceased creator, Neil Christopher Wilson......
Meanwhile in Durham City, The Dunelm Group were assembled at their base.
The team gathered in Leon's War Room.
Leon turned from the monitors he was looking at to the squad and spoke.
"Listen up team. We have confirmation now that as of this moment we are officially in a coalition with The Nighthunters. As a result the two teams have direct communication links with each other. While we still maintain our private channel you are now likely to hear communications from agents of The Nighthunters.
There has been a lot going down in Paragon City lately. The Nighthunters have been at the receiving end of it for the most part but they are not the only ones who have been affected. We have not been involved in any of it but that was not because we chose not to. We could not help because we have been stuck under our own tasks in Paragon, here at home and elsewhere in the world.
But since we now know that Impervium Tower is operating out in the Rogue Isle's, under the control of someone who is directly responsible for most of The Nighthunter's trouble, NOW, we chose to get involved!
Our objectives are this. Carry on with your normal duties and patrols in Paragon City. However if you receive a call from anyone associated with The Nighthunters or anyone being directly attacked by The Court of Elizabeth Bathory, that call for help becomes your main priority. The Nighthunters are now our allies and will help us get to Impervium Tower and will also help us take that thing down, so long as we help them in whatever way we can when called upon.
Now gaining allies is one thing but you can be sure that we will also suddenly become targets ourselves by association now we are getting involved. Which is why I am going to pair everyone up. No one is going around Paragon on their own as we have been doing.
Emma, you team up with Elveyn. Iron Works, assume control of Steel House and have it back you up as usual. Do Lo, your with me, that leaves Bishop to team up with Eleven. Adam I know it leaves you un-paired but you are better placed to hold back and then quickly respond to any of the rest of us should we need backup.
Everyone head out and carry on doing what you do best. Do Lo, me and you are going to Galaxy City and the Freedom Corps building."
Do Lo Might replies, "Sure thing boss. What we going there to do?"
Leon responds, "Tower has been operating in the Rogue Isle's under this Court for two years or so. In that time it has apparently taken out enough Longbow soldiers to be significantly documented about. We're going to Freedom Corps to get an explanation as to why we haven't been told about Tower sooner!"

Misty didn't have time to react to the daggers she was running to fast towards her father. She was hit in her wings by them and fell to the floor on her front. She lifted her head and looked for her father. After the dust cleared as she saw he was fine she smiled and lowered her head and quietly said to herself "I finally did my job... Dad..." Misty slowly drifted off in to unconsiousness.
I have had my eyes opened... and without the people I love I would of never of gained my wings...
13th August 2010 - Throne Room, Castle Bathory
Jemma began to materialize through the main wall, facing the Throne, and the Countess; she began to slowly walk forward. She never managed to effectively walk on the floor’s level, while she was phased.
Jemma did not break breath to the Countess, in fact the distance between them seemed to talk Jemma a lifetime to cover.
“Countess, you have a face on you like thunder.” if Jemma could show emotion, she would clearly be very cocky right now.
Jemma was wearing her signature ‘commander’ styled clothes, with her hands behind her back, standing no further than a breath away from the Countess.
“I will hurt everything you love. I will slowly rip this Court apart. You will be left with nothing.” Jemma appeared to think carefully about what she said next.
“You betrayed me. You will pay for your mistake. You will be left with nothing, no resources, no ‘friends’ and no henchmen. Do not put it past me Bathory, I will see to it that this happens.”
Jemma turned her back to the Countess, she wasn’t prepared to listen to anything she had to say. As she walked away, towards the wall she entered, she turned around to face the Countess, the distance caused Jemma to shout.
“It all ends soon…”
Jemma’s eyes ran up and down the Countess’ shocked expression.
“Speechless… I suppose you have nothing to say?”
Elizabeth her shocked expresion changed fast in anger and rage. Her hand moved to a hidden switch on her throne and a panel opened... revealing a vial with a very special content. A vial she had for years now.
From then her movement suddenly was fast as lightning... coming close to Jemma and emptying the content of the vial over her head. Even phased the solution seemed to have an ethereal effect.. clinging to Jemma her ectoplasm... changing her...
"No... what are you doing!? Stop that!", she yelled out still holding her commanding tone. Even though it would help her nothing.
Suddenly the Ghost of Death wasn't phased anymore.... it wasn't even sure she was still an ethereal being. Instead there was just a girl... a girl with no chance to stop the rage of a vampire of Elizabeth her stature.
The vampire-witch grabbed her arm and dragged her along. Her superior strength leaving marks in what now seemed to be flesh... "You and I need a talk sweet-heart! About trust, loyalty and who is boss around here!"

A dark robed figure hidden in the shadows of the throne room watched in horror at the unfolding scene below her. She made mental note of where the Countess had gotten the vial from.
When the vials liquid started affecting Jemma she blinked in disbelivement. "Where on earth did she get her hands on that dark muck?" she thought to herself. A male voice inside her head answered "I do not know but I know a few people who are not going to like this."
The robed figure waited for the countess to leave and be out of sight before taking one of the magical teleporters. "I must tell them at once" she told the voice inside her head. "Now where to contact The Nighthunters?..."

"Blade, Rack Up, Suraya, does the name Glaciers, Pyros or Titan ring any bells?" asked Pious. "Those are three of seven imposters responsible for framing us for crimes against the Circle of Thorns. Theft of an arcane book, sacred gems and the murder of about a dozen Thorn worshippers. The cult's demon attack on Steel Canyon may have just been successfully averted but the real villains remain hidden. Any ideas on those names?"
