I've nearly maxed my toons...

... and I've only ever known Guardian. Some of my SG mates suggest deleting old toons that don't get as much play (like my Sonic/Sonic Defender Michael Jackson tribute "Moonwalker Jackson" or my MA/SR Scrapper prez tribute "Barrack H Obama") but I can't bring myself to do it. I've already deleted a few "under 20s" toons to make space for a few slots that I want to save for when Going Rogue comes out.

I assume either Server Transfers or starting toons on a completely new server are my only two options. Any Guardian players out there have any server suggestions?

My son plays Champion and he has scads of toons on there already. So besides that I am open for anything.

If it matters, I'm in the Eastern time zone. I think Guardian is West coast. Wish I had known that going in... makes for some loooong nights sometimes

Might I suggest Justice server?

Transfer some of your lesser used characters out from Guardian and make room for a few more. That's the better idea I think. Guardian is home. They kick kittens on the other servers.

If you're going to pick a secondary server, I'd suggest picking an East Coast server - not because of the time zone (most servers are pretty time zone agnostic, with players from varied time zones), but because server issues often happen to an entire X Coast group (e.g. all West Coast servers having issues at the same time)

If you have characters on each coast, then you'll still have something to play when the West Coast servers go down (or when you have severe connection issues with them)


Victory (which is on the East Coast) has been sort of an unofficial "backup server" for Guardian, with multiple SGs started by Guardian people.

Positron mentioned at the Baycon panel that there is a possibility they'll do some more of the free server transfers around when GR goes live. You might want to wait to see if that happens. If so, yay, server move with no cost. If not, you can always spend the money then.

I've played on several servers, and there's good people on all of them.

I've found the Pinnacle playerbase to be similar to Guardian... it's my second home server. I also have villains on Infinity since I've filled Guardian & Pinnacle with heroes. During the last round of free transfers I did move several unplayed high level toons to other servers... I just can't bring myself to delete a 40+ even if I don't enjoy the character anymore.

I think I'll try out Victory and Freedom. Word on the street is that Freedom lags down with all the traffic. I'll test a hero and villain out on each and see how it goes. And definitely wait for free server transfers before I make a move.

If I ever left guardian Id go to protector since I have a full sg and vg up & running there
