Secondary Enh storage
I would like to purpose a second bar (or eve third) to store enhancement to bring the total to twenty (or thirty).
The new bar would not be available for storage while respecing (unless there was a change in policy) but would reduce storage management time while on very lucrative teams. |
All in favor, say mustard!

Without the change in policy you refer to, I'm against this idea. Having all these slots and not being able to use them during a respec seems kinda dumb.
Yes, but the answer is "NO!" to getting more than ten enhancements back, so I'm in favor of more room for regular use. Getting more than ten back from a respec isn't even on the table, so no use even thinking about including it.

Sadly I wonder if it will ever happen. People are screaming for some sort of base storage for recipes and NC Soft's stand seems to be No way you get to keep what you can carry. I wonder if they'd adopt the same standard to enhancements... "Heaven forbid we let them carry more they wouldn't need to stop playing to go to the store and sell what they can't use or the base to store them as often. Players would hit 50 faster and then... STOP playing the game!" [brief dramatic pause] Oh wait Cryptic and Stateman are gone sorry old school mentality .. I think I just flashbacked.
I think this would be great but I do wonder what their stance on it would be. THEY sure won't let us keep any more recipes. Keeping the number we get to save during a respec seems fine to me. Any respec I do I use everything I still can and generally only keep ones I think MAY be worth something at WW. I have never respec'd a character close to 50 so I can't imagine I'd be losing a whole lot just taking whatever value they place on lower level IOs I may have slotted and now can't use. IO prices drop dramatically below about 35-40 level anyway. I always figured I may as well sell it back to NC Soft as sell it for next to nothing at WW. Guess I could take them back to base and store them for other characters or SG members.

All in all, I like the idea, especially for my crafters when I restock my SG bins (would save me some running back and forth!).
But as others indicated there is a limit now. What about making this craftable as a secondary storage "container" on our character that is separate from the standard 10 bar?
I am thinking like the Vanguard item we can craft for more storage (Vanguard Storage Sack). It will be additional storage and can be added in increments (like 1 or 2 per crafting up to a limit the devs decide). This way we have the 10 for respecs, but some extra off to the side.
EDIT -
I completely forget to add some more reasoning. I am wondering if the devs would have a concern for hording/mules if we all could store 20 or 30 enhancements on our toons. By keeping it craftable, unless we have tons of the crafting items (like a recipe to make these slots), then not all of our toons would have this extra storage.
And as usual, another way to burn inf in the game but making us craft and spend for salvage. Maybe even use TF merits like 50 for a storage recipe.
MunkiLord is succinct: I disagree. |
