How are users TPing long distances?

Jus' sayin'.
I did not know that. I am not sure that is an entirely practical way to recharge the power, but it is good to know.

You probably did see the mission teleporter. Neat deal, but really long recharge.

TP Self takes a little getting used to. It's not my favorite travel power, but I seem to have it a lot. (I don't usually want to open more than one travel pool, and I like Recall Friend a lot.)

I just put it on '5', and press 5 with my left hand and then click with the mouse. Make sure you've fully appeared before you press 5, then click again. You can zap yourself a long way with it. An end reduction or two in it and Stamina means you can get across any zone in Paragon - haven't tried the shard or villianside.

Lag can be painful, but no more painful that superleaping into a wall.

I'm such a geek. Some of my heroes have journals.

FYI, Recall Friend is not zonewide. It just has a long enough range to usually be able to cover a zone. Very large zones (like the Shadow Shard or Independence Port) can stymie it.

Also sometimes you can exceed it in very large, or multi-part indoor zones where the various sections are far enough apart in virtual space. The two that come to mind are the thorn tree mission from villain respec/STF, and the eden trial.

Laufeyjarson gets my tips:

Sort of. I recommend hitting 5 (or whatever key) immediately after clicking so it's ready the second you appear, then click.

Get up in the sky. Less obstruction and easier to find a path. Less lag. My first ports are often straight up.

When I'm in laggy areas like Faultline, I tend to pop open one of my jet packs first just to avoid annoying lag drop-out-of-the-sky.

Dec out.

Great map there.

I'd like to use it on the Mentor Project website.

Who do I ask/credit for it?

I just make sure I'm up high. If I lag, I've either got enough time to pick and pop while I'm falling, or ... well, you never actually *die* from those falls.

Same... I don't suppose there is a villain version of that map?

It shouldn't be too hard to replicate. I'll take a look this evening for you. I'm not too experienced at Villian side so there may be errors on the first pass, but hey, gotta start somewhere.

I think, but am not 100% sure, that that map was made by Zombie_Man. He did make a villain one as well, IIRC.

I used a bind that would let me hold control and left click to TP and that made TP a joy instead of a chore - much smoother than button-click-button-click...

Dropping into a mass of +4s or +5s counts as dying from those falls.

That is absolutely Zombie_Man's map - tho I've never seen a red-side version, but don't play a lot of red-side so never went looking.

Try PM'ing Zombie_Man and see if he can hook you up.

(p.s. I have this map scotch-taped to the side of my pc tower)

Nah, that's just terminal bad luck.

Done, If he doesn't have a villian one I'll do one up. I've also asked him about adding it to the wiki, for whoever suggested that.

I have mine inside the outside clear part of a Trapper Keeper. The inside is full of junk, all I use it for is a frame for it/big thing to help me find it easier.
