Alright.....I know we're in the thick of things now. I know people are pumped with challenges. However, there is a big question everyone seems to ask me..."When does the Ladder end?"
The answer is...it doesn't. It's ongoing. The problem with that is....people need a goal to participate. So what is the goal for the Ladder? Well bragging rights is one....but unfortunately we need prizes. It's hard to get prizes for an ongoing Ladder without it being unfair. For example....Team A has been undefeated all ladder long...until Team B beats them, but have an inferior record than they do, and they just happen to do it at the deadline for a prize..Team B gets it. It's unfair for Team A.
Therefore....this is not a proposal....but to gauge interest in the current teams IN right now....to change from a Ladder format to a PURELY PVP LEAGUE format. Meaning...there are deadlines and there is a time line for a season. The Timeline I have an idea for is 2 months or less, depending on how consistent people get their fights in, and 3 weeks after for a PLAYOFFS type format.
This way, there is an intended goal, and it'd be easier for me to get prizes for teams. After each season, we would be on a 3-4 week hiatus for offseason. Then, we'll be up at it again for the next.
Anyway...just a proposition. If everyone will agree....this would mean everyone would start at a clean slate.
If people want prizes or a goal, just do what the old Test Ladder did, the team on top at the start of each month gets a prize. This at least gives an incentive for people to keep challenging and climbing the ladder. I'm not opposed to a League format but it's going to be hard to find a day everyone can meet to complete their league matches.

I'd set up a separate topic with dates at the length of 2 months. Like if we start now, it'd be from July 2 - Sept 2. In each date, people would sign up and get their fights in. Also, each date is not restricted to just one fight. A team can fight all their fights in one night if they want, lol. xD Also, this way, people can better track when their fights are happening. At least, theoretically.
So...if there are 6 teams, that's 10 fights for each team. Everyone's got 2 months to schedule in their matches. All matches not able to be scheduled, must be rescheduled within the 2 months, or it'll be auto losses. So..scheduling is also flexible.
I'd say 8 weeks is a reasonable amount of time to get at least 10 fights in. Obviously, the more teams enter, the more fights we'll have. >

We can't do that. as i said, we always have schedual issues, but what about people that can't make it? This opens the door for many arguments, many more disagreements, and some people can't do it. i don't wanna sound as if i'm trying to cover for myself, i can prolly make it, but my team has rl things, atleast 2 being adults, having jobs. I actually might be the only non-adult, so i'm looking out for the team.

Do you read? I said the damn schedule is FLEXIBLE. You can schedule your matches anytime as long as it's within the 2 month Season. I bolded the parts that you seemed to have missed.

I would love to see us move to more or a regular season/playoffs format but I don't think we have the PvP community to get away with that. With that in mind I would only have a few unanswered questions.
1. Would changing to a different format help/hinder new PvP teams from entering?
2. Would changing to a different format give incentive for lower ranked teams to stay in the league?
The block out period for a league with open scheduling is not a bad idea for a regular season play, however I have seen this format go rapidly south in other recreational leagues outside of CoH. I would urge that if switching to this format the rules for auto-losses and rescheduling of set matches during the x month period are pretty clearly stated. The idea that your ranking can be tied into scheduling creates an opportunity for ducking matches to force wins and losses. This is especially true if there are multiple teams with early completed seasons.

My biggest concern with the new "changes", is simply the fact that it will erase the already existing standings. Regardless of what my team's standings are or anyone else's. These changes would just mean exactly this, all the matches that have happened so far were only for fun. Having said that, I'm all for having fun, but it was stated at the beginning of the Ladder League that there would be prizes. And to tell the truth, frankly, I don't think any of us have any way of knowing that the changes being proposed will bring any less confusion than our current setup. Seeing how most of the confusion we've been suffering from is due to egos flaring and massive miscommunications on both sides of each arguement.
(Sorry, I've just always loved playing devil's advocate. And these are valid concerns that could be addressed) 
Well then let's keep this ladder going. At the first of every month whoever is number 1 will get prizes. Starting august 1. I'll talk to ocho about it.

Captains, make sure your teammates are all on global friends, and that they are on global with each other. Make sure they are all in the pinnaclecup channel. Let's get some matches going for real. If you missing 1-2 for a match, let me know and i can get it filled for some practices. Practice makes perfect. I know it's summer, the new expansion is coming, and everyone is doing RL stuff, but when you are in game, try to be proactive and get some fights going.

OK I am back sorry for my mysterious disappearance. The whole complex lost net... Much pain no net for a week lol. Anyhow I am thinking if I remember correctly A member of face grape is on vacation. As well 1 of our members is now on vacation and then this upcoming weekend Ace is on vation so We will be sidelined for at least a week to 10 days. As soon as I have a hard date for our return to the ring I will post it and resched. However Face grape that being said please fell free to challenge another in the mean time if you wish. Darn Vacations lol.
