Updates to the Going Rogue FAQ

You misinterpreted my intention (and also quoted me before I edited the post to adjust the phrasing a bit). I wasn't attempting to chastize anyone for anything, merely pointing out the technicality of the rules... and thereby strengthening my reasoning for abstaining from further comment. Besides, if I really had that much of a problem with it, would I have posted that comment at all?
You need to really lay off playing EULA cop because you can't seem to abide the grey areas that exist in any legal system. If you think someone broke the EULA, then report it and walk away from it. Stop trying to create public trials out of it.
|
Furthermore, I don't recall the last time I pulled the EULA out to create a "public trial." You imply that it is a frequent occurrence on my part.

I know generally Geography can be a weak point for some but Canada does border the United States and accounts for more North American Land Mass than the US. So far it seems that "North America" means "The United States of" specifically and I kind of hate that.
The boxed set is only available in North America - anywhere else that plays on the NA servers will have to import it and those that don't only have the option to buy the digital version.
|
Anyway benefit of the doubt for now and I restate the question, has anyone heard anything about Canada. The retailers providing preorders for Going Rogue only ship to the US, and NC says it's available in NA. NA=/=US

My apologies, Thirty-Seven. I have confused you with someone else who kept publicly asking about the validity of the third-party overlay aids. Sorry to snap at you like that.

However, to the point in question: If it leaks to Open Beta or Live, then, it's now public info. And if the information can be gained in the game on Live or Open Beta with the bracket hyperlink (e.g., [Shadowy Presence]), then it's public info and no one's getting in trouble for repeating or reposting it.

So long as you not attacked and remain motionless??????
That power only seems to be useful for avoiding patrols and PvP. Will getting a prepurchase (early Demon Summoning and Dual Pistols) allow us into the Tier 3 Closed Beta Invite or is it for just preorders?
|
I am trying to find a purpose for this power and failing miserably....hmmm...I don't PVP so I don't know of a purpose there...avoiding Patrols means moving about does it not??? If you move, you are not remaining motionless.
Only thing I can think of is it will help a Mastermind keep close to his pets while they are fighting.
Every single special power the Devs have given us has been winners, and I am betting a nickle this one is no exception, sooo this Shadowy Presence power makes me real curious about what we will find in Going Rogue in which remaining motionless is a good thing
Light bulb flickers on.....SPYING!!!!
Hmmmm....I am looking forward to Going Rogue.

Lisa stomps her huge foot. I put in for a vacation the last week in July because Going Rogue was advertised as coming out in July, and Amazon had a release date for the 21st
I imagine that's the same reason companies prefer to release games in July, or even June, if they can. The fact that some of their primary audiences have the free time to play them makes the games much more likely to be purchased.
As for Going Rogue, I always assumed "July" meant "the last possible weekday of July," just because it feels as if lots of issues and updates over the years have hit at the very end of a month. Now, I suspect it'll be closer to late August or early September. That's disappointing, but if they need that time for adequate testing, better then than earlier. |
I can still change the date of my vacation...I wish with all my heart I could look into a crystal ball and pick out the ideal week to be off
But. . . it still might be released last week in July.
Might be all the hard, time consuming, bug chasing, things came out in Issue 17. The mechanism for changing sides might be a breeze compared to introducing both Ultre Mode and the new updater to all these different computer systems and their users.
The Devs have gotten experienced at giving us new powersets, so that might not be a problem.
Lisa nods decisively.
End of July.

Thanks for that. I guess I was most taken aback by the comment because I don't see you as the type of person who usually "goes off" about things like that. And if you do, it usually takes quite a bit to do so. And, actually, I think I recall the poster you were thinking of. Definitely was a nuisance and posting A LOT about the same "issue."
My apologies, Thirty-Seven. I have confused you with someone else who kept publicly asking about the validity of the third-party overlay aids. Sorry to snap at you like that.

I sense a sore issue, so sorry if I offended . I know exactly where Canada and I made an assumption that they meant United States only release when they say North America.

From what I have read they have not differentiated in terms of NA being Canada & US or just the US. It may be worth PMing a Red Name to get some clarification on the subject.

This is a very good thing. I thought GR might be rushed and given how that usually works with games, it's quite good news that they are not guaranteeing July.
A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

Quoting wikipedia as an official reference... priceless.
There is nothing arbitrary about the end of summer coming in September. Scroll down a bit on that page you linked to and you'll see why.

I agree whole-heartedly DarkCurrent. There is a reason no reputable educational or scientific organization will accept any information quoted from Wikipedia. It's called accuracy and reliability. If Wikipedia told me that the sky was blue, I would be forced to do more research to verify it and would then begin to question any references that come even close to agreeing with them.

No worries, it's just irritating. When I lived in New Brunswick I would have to buy books on Amazon and have them shipped to friends across the border and then drive to Maine and smuggle them into Canada.
Companies have a tendancy to say released in NA to make a US only release sound international. No sweat if you live anywhere but Canada and Mexico.
It's almost the end of May and they're in friends and fam. beta. They just under 2 months to meet the release date noted by Amazon. Can they do a closed and open beta in 2 months? I wasn't around for CoV so I have no idea. If an Issue can take over a month then how long will closed and open beta take on GR?!

Can it be done? Yes. Should it be done? Probably not. Personally I hope it does get pushed back to September or so. More time to trouble shoot that way.

Good catch. The tilt of the axis of the earth in relation to its orbital plane is just opinion and hearsay!
