Help with my "super MM" idea.

I want to make an MM with /Dark secondary for the extra "pet" and then do Mu Mastery or something (I forget which other ones give some form of pet) so I've got a gang of 9, including myself, in total. Any way to get more than that, btw?

What Primary would work best with this? I really wanna do DS but I don't want to pre-order GR. If DS would be the best for whatever reason, please say so. Then I'll consider the pre-order!

Though you said you don't want to do Demon Summoning, it is an option for extra pets. There's the Living Hellfire that spawns off of the Hell on Earth buff. You basically infect one of the Demon Henchmen and it spawns what's essentially a Fire Imp once every few seconds. I haven't seen this power in action, though, so I'm not sure how the Living Hellfire compares to Fire Imp, and I don't know how many can be active at once.

You can take Necromancy for Soul Extraction, which requires a defeated target, but very much adds a pet to follow you around and deal damage. I haven't used it myself, so I don't know if it can be controlled like a normal Henchman, but I seem to recall that you can give it a name.

You can take Thugs for the Gang War power, which summons around 10 little wimpy thugs to the party (the exact number varies from cast to cast). This is by far the most numerous way to rack up the pets, though the Posse summoned by Gang War will not show up in your pet window, so healing them might be difficult with a single-target heal. Shouldn't be an issue with Dark Miasma, though.

Something to keep in mind: None of the Mastermind Patron pools have any pet powers. With the six Henchmen and Dark Servant, you'll be stuck at seven until you summon the Soul Extraction or Gang War, which will put you at 8 or around 15-17.

I have seen around 10 at the same time, they are more resistants than the normal pets and while you can't control them, they are nice tankers.

patron pools do not give pets to mm's

the only way to get more than 7 pets (6 mm pets and 1 dark servant), is temp pet powers, by technicality, gang war or hell on earth (which means you would have to be thug or demon), or the soul extraction from the zombie set

I've got a screenshot (I'm at work or I'd post it)
With my level 41 Necro/Dark and his entire cadre of cannibals out.
I had my 6 regular pets
Dark Servant
1 ghost
1 Shivan
1 additional zombie (Loa Bone)

Taken right after an AV battle. I wouldn't really want anymore than that, the pet window would be to big IMO.

That sucks that the patron pools can't give another pet! How disappointing.

Well, do the fire imps spawned by hellfire show up in the pet menu or are they just on their own?

If all you want is a huge pet window, then /Traps actually fills it up more. FFGen, Acid Mortar (more than 1 if your recharge allows), and temporarily 2 Seeker Drones all show up in your pet window.

As far as I know neither the Posse from Gang War or the Living Hellfire from Hell on Earth show up in your pet window. The ghost from Soul Extraction definitely does though.

My Necro/Dark generally had his 6 basic pets, a spirit and Fluffy out at all times (except for the first 20 seconds of a mission before I sacrificed a zombie, and frequently had 2 spirits out for brief periods of time with Hasten and Soul Extraction maxed for recharge.


Spirits are Henchmen rather than pets, you can order them about and they add to Bodyguard mode. I think any other "extra" a MM can summon is a pet (Fluffy, Traps summons, Gang War, the lil Fire Imps pooped out by Hell on Earth targets). Fluffy and some of the Traps show up in your Pets window. Nothing else does afaik (maybe Temps).

If you are including shivans, you can include snow beasts from the winter event, too.

Hell on Earth and Gang War pets are not controllable they are just like imps. Gang War though is better because there are more of them and they all arrive at once.

Thugs rool.

I'll never forget the hilarity of summoning them on one of those Council Archon bosses who proceeded to sweep-kick the whole lot of them to death. Looked amazing (he of course got riddled with lead for his troubles).

Vanguard HVAS, a couple of ways to summon Devouring Earth, Rikti Drones, and a few more. The new temp power backup radio. There are quite a few summons you can have out at once.
